I do the same thing and it’s always about the release for me. I know the second the arrow leaves if I did it right or wrong. Very frustrating trying to get consistent but I’m getting there.
Man my shots on game are usually only 12-15 yards but if I have that smooth draw cycle all the way through it’s getting the job done! With the 250 grains I shoot up front I have to make sure mines on point 🤙🏻🤙🏻
🔥
Are you aiming or instinctive?I'm kinda just getting started and use a fixed crawl aiming with point of the arrow and I wonder how different the arrows will hit by aiming with the broadhead instead of the field tip with them being different size/length?I dont have my broadhead target yet just a new 24" delta mckenzie speedbag
I don’t aim, its more lining riser up then staring at spot. I don’t see my arrow or bow when i shoot just the spot. I dont really call it instinctive but it’s more that method
You arer creeping forward just before the release
Thanks for noticing, I know I am.
From experience I see you will suffer from shoulder impingement in your right shoulder. It happens from your right drawing hand being to far forward when you start drawing. Please heed the warning, I don’t like the problem I created with my shoulder. Maybe start without the left pushing hand being fully extended.
Nice
Never saw anyone have such target panic shooting traditional. You are double clutching. Need to work on that.
😅
If you watch your video your creeping forward with a small collapse. Work on staying into your back with back tension then just proceed to pull until the shot breaks. You’re doing it on every shot. Nice bow
Skert
I know you didn’t waste a capri sun tho
Definitely not a snap shooter,
I see what you are doing wrong from your first shot to the second one on the first shot you hold the bow strait up and down and pull slightly with your left hand that is holding the bow throwing the arrow slightly to the left as it leaves the bow and on the second you cant the bow slightly opening your sight window for a more accurate shot that you can see.
Fun flying feathers
What’s the release you’re using
It’s a Yost pro tab brass model
how is this bow compared to a centaur?
Centaur is a faster bow. As far as an easier to shoot bow the black widow takes it! At the same weights the centaur are harder to draw back, but much quicker imo. The centaur is also a lighter overall weight bow, and with the carbon I have in mine it’s more snappy
@@ICantPutMyBowDown have you shot the centaur super curve?
No but I’ve been wanting to try one! I’m thinking it’ll be a similar feel to the longbows with a little more forgiveness on draw cycle. Once a centaur longbow gets over 45lb I don’t like to shoot them as much, they stiffen up. I like a 42-46# draw on most bows
@@ICantPutMyBowDown i'm on the list to get a bow from centaur but cant decide supercurve or triple carbon elite. I am just worried about accuracy with supercurve vs ease of shooting his longbow!
I never buy new, takes to long. I can find a used centaur daily vs waiting that long for a new one that you may not like when you get it. And you save a ton buying used
I'm guessing Apple season started June 1 in your area.. LOL.. Great shot
🤣 arrow and apple had to do it!! Couldn’t find anymore who would stand under it though…. Glad I didn’t
@@ICantPutMyBowDown that would have been a William Notell shot if you had missed
Haha yeeeeah…. Sucker woulda been a cowboy and Indian scalping story as well
Yes, your video is properly named! So what I’m seeing is you are trying to shoot a “static” release. When most of us need to shoot a dynamic release. Static is you hit your anchor focus on your spot and release the string. Well what you’re doing is while at full draw you start creeping.🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️ I too am guilty as charged. A good way to see this is by your elbow starting to move slighty forward just before you shoot. Or you could set a camera up filming where your arrow point stops at full draw just before the shelf. You will probably see your arrow start to inch forward just before your shot. What helped me is shooting a dynamic release, hit your anchor while seeing your target then slowly use back tensionto continue drawing and allow the shot to break as you are drawing. It sounds much more difficult than it is, but when you do this your draw hand will follow the line of your shot you shouldnt pluck and your hand will fall straight back to your shoulder. How to practice this? Start 3’ from your target, pick a spot then draw to anchor while stading at spot, once you hit your anchor you can stop (this isnt snap shooting!) then slowing start pulling through the shot allowing shot to break as you pull. You will be amazed at how many times you can hit that same spot. Once you get the feel of it back up to 10 yards. This is where it gets tricky. DON’T aim like you normally do. Once again focus on the spot hit your anchor, then pull through allowing the shot to break. You will see an improvement in your L-R accuracy. This ytakes a lot of practice, because you have already developed a shooting habit. But it will come quicker than you think. Where I notice myself slipping back is when I start tiring and then I catch myself shooting Static again and hence collasping on the shot. I hope this wasnt to lengthy of a reply, but try it. It will help I promise!! Good Luck and good shooting brother!!
I love this comment!!! Yes I creep badly!! I can hit a dang target but I creep more than a good release!!Definitely going to give this a try! Let’s keep stuff like this going and hopefully more people will read these I Informative responses as well!
Even though this bow is super lightweight just from years of shooting it is very habitual for me! 😭😭😭
I could do that shot with a compound,be more difficult with a recurve
To be honest at closer distances the recurve or longbow, like I used here, is easier than holding a compound steady.
How was the tuning of that broadhead? Did it tune well? Any issues with flight?
Total weight with this head is 315
I didn’t tune it and it flew surprisingly well at 15 yards. I missed a few times and man that sucker will bounce off a flat surface like a rock skipping off water!
I like the channel’s name
That head is sick!!! Nice shot
For the size it doesn’t fly bad at all!! Pretty crazy!!
Very nice bows, and great shooting ... God bless ya man! Just get out and have fun shooting is what it's all about!
Spine! 😂
😂
I’ve been in the same boat my friend. Be patient and keep at it.
Awsome shooting, mate! Left a sub. Loved to hear your daughter in the background 🙂
Do you have the thumb rest on your centaur? If so,how do you like it?
It’s actually a skinnier grip than my past centaurs. I like the grips on them though, you can get used to it!! The one one my bow isn’t as defined as some
Just picked up a hero 7 also. Can't wait to get it in the woods. Nice video and shooting.
Great video it just shows you don't have to spend a fortune to have a reliable hunting bow 👌
What bow are you shooting?
TimberGhost TGX
Reading.... It is fundamental.... Try it some time.... " #hunting #outdoors #archery Shooting various broadheads out of my TimberGhost Supercurve!!!"
nice vid, their is really few Longbow vids out their )
Check out my centaur longbow!! It’s a good one!!
I think you're ready for big bucks now
This video would be way better if you were British and had a stripper pole❤
They are not Snuffers. They are Woodsman’s.
Yeah I commented on that already
My mistake 🤣🤣
The broadheads are 175 woodsman’s not Snuffers
I always find it interesting to watch archer's different styles. Me, if I held an anchor that long, I'd miss by a country mile. :-)
Man I held on a buck for a while before I let one rip and I missed. Another time I didn’t hold for that long and sent it double lung…. I find though if I get the stillest I can and quit thinking about anything else but that spot it’s the best results!
Lol
Looked like they were lasers from our end
They flew pretty well with my not so great shooting 🤣
Hitting cans at 30 Yards with it!
@@ICantPutMyBowDown better than me tonight, I was off, goin to get up in the am and work on it
I love white in the air!!
Nice tuning video..the release action between the brain and fingers gets buggy for me when I'm tired..letting down is good advice..
Wow gg banget bg
Love my 56" 41# @ 26" Centaur, sleek, pure fun and really spits them out. 2 piece, rattlesnake skin with shark's tooth. total awesomeness! Congrats
Would look really good with a Black quiver made by gunshy Archery
I just bought another great northern for it, so I’m done buying quivers.
Have to repost, I can’t get this clip to go into normal view…..
That was a good let down.
Didn't look like shitz! Giving himself a thumbs up when showing nothing...the reality.... light a@@ 30 lb spline carbon fiber arrow...woman's and Childs bow...could have hit a stump and exploded just 5 meters in front of him for all we know ...cos the putz didn't have the ball@ to show anything that happened. hat these weak a@@ed show ponies!
Where could I buy a bow like this any recommendations
This is a Centaur archery longbow, Jim Neaves at Centaur makes them. I buy all my stuff used though, get on Facebook and search traditional archery buy sell trade and then ask if someone has one for sale. They are around $1600 new like the one I am shooting. You can find one used for $650-$900 or in between depending on model and detail
Looks fast
Good watch mate👍
What length arrow you running?
