Brushed out curls: two different techniques!
Hello! I've just come across your channel, and love it! You are a very clear teacher, and obviously talented. I am a hairdresser, but don't do updo's ..until now. I have a client who is looking for a specific updo, (which looks as though it should be effortless, but is not for me!) Any chance I can send the picture to you, and maaybe you could post a video? I realize this is a big ask, I have my fingers and toes crossed! Thanks🙂Louisa
I’m so glad you’re finding this helpful!!! Yes I’d be so happy to help. Send over the pic to theupdocollective@gmail.com and I’ll see what I can do!
Congrats on starting your bridal business!! Thanks so much for that feedback , I’m so glad it was helpful for you!!
This vid is insanely insightful! I am a new bridal hairstylist and just recently started my bridal beauty business and will consider all of the points in this livestream. Thank you so much ❤
I love this you are amazing ty!❤
Thank you so much!!!
This was really helpful. I've tried this but turned ut the wrong way and couldn't get it to hold.
What about those with miles of split ends? How would you treat that? Thank you
Great question! Smoothing cream can help immensely, but If that’s not enough to settle those bad boys down I’d recommend ending the twists from the ponytail higher up, securing with an elastic, and then hiding it behind the bun part. Does that make sense?
I LOVE your tutorials! Just found you last week. ❤
Oh yay!! I’m so glad and thank you!!

Bands or bangs?
Hi! Would you mind clarifying the question? I may have just misspoke 😅 Let me know so I can help!
Right before you said consistency. Did you say balance and consistency? Or bands or bangs?
@@April.Showers. Oh! Yes, balance and consistency! Here's the full tutorial if you'd like to check it out! th-cam.com/video/KkQBaCUr2Ew/w-d-xo.htmlsi=o8iw7gwocAePuf9s
What a fantastic tutorial. Love that you describe the products you use and their uses thank you so much for your detailed updo tutorial 😊
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that and I'm so glad you found it helpful :)
Amazing detailed tutorial. Can you please link flexible hairspray and texture spray products. Where to purchase thank you so much 😊
Thank you and yes of course! Here’s my fave hairspray: amzn.to/3HOhpHh and here’s my fave texture spray for the front: amzn.to/3OBSHh5
@theupdocollective8967 hi thank you for the link to products. In your video you stated you use a flexible hold hairspray. The one you linked is a hold 4 ??? Flexible is 1 or 2 level hold is it not ?
Good catch! It’s actually this one, which is very similar, but in my experience has a much lighter hold and it’s easier to brush through: amzn.to/495aO7q
thank you for doing this video! Nice job! Have a great week!
You’re very welcome! I hope it was helpful!
can you please do on a mannequin how do you set the bangs before and after you curl them with styling products? not brading but curling away from the head?
Sure! I'll create a video this weekend showing those techniques!
Thank you have a great rest of your week
Watching from Dubai, just want to thank you, your videos are so educative
🎉 I’m so glad to hear that! Thanks for learning with me :)
Pretty!! You explained every step very well!
Glad it was helpful!
Love it. Great look ❤
Thank you!!
This was just the tutorial I was looking for ❤ Any tips on applying this to very fine hair? There's not a lot to work with on my lady!
Have you ever used texture powder? That is a really helpful product for fine hair! Another option is utilizing a bit of hair padding. I hope that helps!
Beautiful and easy updo.
Thank you! Pin curls don’t have to be as complicated as people often think :)
Beautiful work Heidi
Thank you Monika!!
Me 🙋 thank you for the tips!
You’re so welcome!! Send me an email at theupdocollective@gmail.com and I’ll email you back the info asap!!!

You are so welcome! I’m happy to help!
Too slow
Sorry forgot to say that I learned a lot. Thank you
in regards to the Hollywood waves - I've found that the shampoo they use has a distinct result. I ALWAYS make sure to recommend they don't use the likes of Pantene
That is a great tip! Thank you!
Thank you! Watching this the night before a wedding to secure my hair style for tomorrow, I’m just a guest but want my hair to last the day/night! This is great info.
So glad it was helpful!
Hi I need you lol Love that look.. I'll be needing something like this in April.
I’m so glad you like it!!!! I hope you can find a stylist that can do it for you :)
What brand of pins do you like to use?
My favorite brand is Sta-Rite, they are a little more flexible and I think allow for better movement through the hair :)
Thank uu
You’re most welcome!
Great video! What texture spray did you use!
Thanks!!! I'm thinking it was Kenra's Dry Texture Spray! That's my go-to favorite!

I was watching this at least a few mins before I noticed the baby. Love what you’re doing x
Thank you!!
I just watched through several of your other videos. Would you please do a video on an updo for a mom with a Bob length. My hair is thin and fine and 2.5" at my nape. I'm pretty good with my hair. I curl and braid the front frequently. This is my 3rd child's wedding and I'd like to try an indoor this time. (First was beachy waves. 2nd was a half up). Thank you so much for all your tips. Limited budget so I want to do my own.
Congrats on your 3rd kiddo getting married!! Such a special time. I appreciate your feedback so much and I'm glad it's been helpful! My main teaching goal is to provide training for other hairstylists who want to work in the bridal industry, so at this time I won't be able to create the requested tutorial-however I would check out The Small Things Blog. She posts lots of how-to's for you to try out yourself and has a number of tutorials for shoulder length hair. Best of luck to you!
Watching late from Utah. Looking for updo ideas for my sons wedding in Sept. Need time to practice. Thanks for teaching this
Great Posture and Beautiful)))
Thank you!
I am so glad I found your channel!! I’ve learned so much already. I appreciate you! Could you do a video about bobby pin hiding and bobby pin placement techniques?
Hi!! I’m so glad you’ve found it helpful!! I can definitely do a video about pinning :) Are you on my email list?? I send lots of tips and tutorials, plus you’ll get updates on the latest education!
Really great video! Could you link the mannequin head and products you used?
Yes! Mannequin is L’Image “Louisa” and here’s a link to my fave products: view.flodesk.com/pages/61cddba0a247a7a54199525b
I want to ask you of any shop online you buy the support the mannequin head and thank you
It's called La'Image out of Germany-if you google it you'll find it! Mine is called "Louisa"
Here’s the freebie I talk about in the video! view.flodesk.com/pages/6266d962ec932442485951d8
This was very helpful. Thank you
Glad to hear that!!! Thanks Viktoriya :)
Would love to see this with some long bangs in the front, framing face
I'll have to give my mannequin a trim in the front to get that look!
I think would’ve been nicer if you curl the top back
Gorgeous! Thanks💖
Thank you for watching!!!
I love your channel!!! Such a talented hairstylist!!
Whats a good tip for fly always and frizz?? Just used your video to help me with a bride but I couldn’t get her hair to look this smooth :(. Thanks for the detailed Tutorial though!
Great question! So when the hair is particularly frizzy, I spray each section with flexible hold hairspray, comb through with a comb, and then curl it-using my iron to smooth it down before I roll it up. I do this with each section before I pin it, so that it's smoothed out before it's actually pinned. I hope that helps! Come join my free facebook group too for more tips!!

When do you put a spray on the hair?
I spray before I start, and then brush through. Then I use a flexible hold hairspray as I go!
