I just finished reading the book by OJ's former agent, Mike Gilbert, called How I helped OJ get away with Murder. He contends that the entire Brown family knew that Nicole was being abused by OJ and they did nothing to help her. They didn't try to convince her to leave him. They didn't change their tunes until after she was murdered. Even A.C. (Cowlings) said under oath that Nicole had told him that she feared her family would side with OJ during the divorce. I feel like the truth is somewhere in the middle. They liked the access to fame and wealth OJ brought too. But they also didn't like how he treated her but didn't say anything during his bad behavior. If they were so close like she contends how could they have NOT known??? Of course they knew... even still it's very sad. RIP Nicole

Im so sorry Denise...i was 20 years old when the murder/ case concluded. It was the first time as an 'adult' i could see how sick humanity could be towards humanity and how our unfair our justice system could be. It was unreal as 911 and the attack on the Capital. Most of us has been the victim of domestic violence in some form. Yes, its shame and the charisma of the narcissistic abuser plus fear. I love hearing about your family and Nicole. Im so sorry and still angry to what happened to Ron and Nicole, to this day. Women are still not protected to this day the way they should...Gabby comes to mind. We still have a long way to go but hopefully making progress 😢

But i think it was also due to her age and inexperience she probably hasn’t even dated much to know what to look out for. You would think though her family would see it as they were not emotionally involved with the perpetrator. Unfortunately everyone involved was smitten with ojs fame and wealth so they chose to turn the other cheek.

You’re joking right?! Red flags are missed by family members and partners because they are not aware of them and youre dealing with manipulators. Her father also was working for Hertz car rental facility at The Ritz Monarch Bay. It significantly benefited the Brown family financially. O.J. helped him in this. The Browns benefited financially from O.J. and rather take the money than protect their daughter from the abuser. People still think that mothers can raise boy boys . Now she didn’t say she didn’t want to raise a gay boy but I know many gay men who work construction - they work on asphalt all day , worked on my 150 ft driveway - leveled and put asphalt down staring at 6 am and finishing at 6 at night . I feel so sorry she lost her sister that way , so public . Her face still shows the sadness stark look in her face . The trauma of losing a loved sister to being slaughtered so violently has and understandably still with her . She’s learned to live with it one can’t accept and be as happy as before . My wish for her is to have as much love in her life she can accept. Her sister is waiting in heaven and when they meet again she can finally be at peace . I feel for her even though I have no experiences like her . OJ was damaged pychologically mixed with cocaine . Drugs absolutely escalate any defect in character in those that use and for those that enable those who use . At any situation violence can erupt when the cocaine user feels boxed in .
