I'm disappointed that such a huge team that has been here half my life is going to fade away, but I'm more disappointed in how Tony and Gene let it get to this. They really hired on two new drivers at the start of this year to instantly drop the floor underneath them. I am okay with getting out of something you aren't committed to, but there are so many different ways they could have handled this. Find new owners interested in buying in, promote more invested leadership positions, minimize the cup and Xfinity efforts and diversify your employees to be in other branches of the company as both Tony and Gene have other open avenues, but to just drop the floor like this because they just don't feel like doing it anymore is so greedy. I know NASCAR and the team have had their differences, but Gene's lack of input and Stewart's hot headed reactions did them no favors. The drivers don't deserve this, the crew chiefs don't deserve it, the crews on pit road, in the shop, in offices, none of them deserve this and I hope so much they land on their feet. Apologies for being more pessimistic and less calm and mournful for what was a successful team, but poor, negligent leadership to those who depend on you sets me off bad.
