I think it has to do with how cars were made during the 90s and beginning of the 2000s, which is when the game was based on (with most of the things from the 90s, like cars, like music, like outfit styles, and GTA V is based on later years, which cars were a lot different from those manufactured in the 90s, even in real life, a car is more resistant today, than it was in the 90s, but another thing could be is that people were complaining that cars got so messed up very quickly in GTA 4, and they wanted stronger cars.

@@xzxvnxvwNah, it's because of performance issues or other technical issues, don't think too far into it. As if a car from the 2000s would be any worse quality wise than the cars built today lol. Mercedes Benz was much better quality wise then. 90s is a different thing, but it never was as bad as you have in your head right now, unless you think of American shit cars. German cars from the 90s/2000s were pretty much tanks.

​@@xzxvnxvwIt's the exact opposite - cars need to be more fuel efficient every year and they achieve this by being manufactured lighter and lighter. Watch any real crash testing videos and it's apparent that cars in the 90s were able to withstand a lot harder impacts than newer cars that crumple at the smallest fender bender

@@xzxvnxvw cars where made of harder materials before, cars today are made of softer materials. Its to absorb impact so that the people in the car dont absorb it
