Cool and windy so not much activity during most of the time I was watching. Hoped to see an adult but no such luck. Wind was picking up so stopped watching.

Another windy day with the chicks mostly sheltering in the nest. I did manage to catch of few videos of other activity. Like a one legged balancing act in the wind.
May 14 1024 Two Eagle Chicks

It was a fairly windy day, and less than ideal conditions for making videos. These videos feature an adult eagle feeding a couple of young chicks a fish. The nest is near the intersection of Hiway 56 and County Rad 23.

During this filming it was pretty obvious that this nest contained 3 Heron babies. A careful review of some previous video indicated there were 3 but not nearly as obvious. They are getting bigger and were moving around a lot.

May 1, 2024 Both Eaglets Survived
มุมมอง 32หลายเดือนก่อน
After the cold wet weather last weekend I wanted to see if the two eaglets were still OK. Atmospheric conditions were much better than last week, but not perfect. Video quality much better than last week. Shows the young ones attempting to eat something in the nest.

Human made nests 😢
Sparrowhawk?
falcon or hawk?
The other baby dove: I see nothing, I hear nothing 😂
Is the hawk suffocating the dove when it steps on it?
Well…to be honest…hawks are far more precious. They are at a risk of extinction. Doves are not.
The only thing the parent dove could have done is distract the hawk from the nest. It is common for doves to act injured near the nest if their young is in danger.
Hahaha
At least put some king of barrier around the nest so Hawks can't get in there. It is way too easy for them to get to the babies.
Have any of the chicks hatched and raised in this nestbox been able to reach adulthood?
There have been 2-4 "batches of two" that have fledged each year for at least the last 3 years since I have had the camera.
Did you deliberately make the nest so that you could record the baby birds being preyed upon by eagles? Oh my God, imagine if your child was given bait to a lion
It happens dude, coopers hawks takes chicks seasonally, putting a nest doesnt guarantee a hawk would be coming.. Besides, its a common practice to put artificial nests and feeders for birds, its not for the sake of atracting predators.
Humans prey on Lions in certain parts of Africa. Humans are smarter than that lmaoooo
Who cares if people complain? Falcon or hawk (not sure) followed the law of nature, only fittest survive. (I say that a lot, damn full metal alchemist..) but its true.
A falcon's favorite prey is doves
y donde estan los padres
iso bien el halcon
As long as that nest is there that hawk will have free meal for the rest of smhid life. Thank you homeowner
I prefer these videos than fking people saving nature that they shouldnt, let nature be nature

Mãe que não defende seu filho
Hawk: rumplestilskin mufukas!
Stupid hawks
doves are are the most complacent victims in the bird kingdom, they never fight back or show suffering.
Mom was gone long enough for the nest box to be covered in snow? Idk,but I felt her confusion and pain
Lord also can't save the any birds from this predator 😮
why isn´t anyone qustioning why did that hawk ate that baby dove beak?

It that in Australia?
I live in Colorado in the United States.
What a brave dad! He attacked the hawk, but unfortunately late! I'm saying dad, because male doves are more aggressive. I say this from my experience, when a crow attacked the dove's nest in my window, the dad, who had the day shift opened the wings and resisted to the crow attack. While in another attack, when it was the mother's shift, she flew immediately, without resisting. It was me who protected the eggs.
