And if we add the coldness, the humidity, probably the hunger of the musicians, and the lack of hours and years of rehearsal, we would have a level of Bachian professionalism much greater than mine.

@@aseerose5684 No, there is only printed „well tempered“ and this is clearly different from equal temperament. It is generally assumed that, that Bach had his own tuning system, which differed from the Werkmeister tuning systems. But Kirnberger was his student and therefore Kirnberger III may a good approximation to Bach‘s well tempered tuning.

Indeed. I do the same thing that I suppose Bach did: I tune the instrument to sound the way I like it. I am not an expert in temperaments. Regards!

@@LangLangsam But well tempered means: as many pure intervals, especially fifth, as possible, without too many wolf intervals, so Bach tuned his Instrument not randomly at his gusto.

I tried to say that I am not an expert in temperaments, and that is why I tune the instrument to sound the way I like. I do not think that tuning it this way is randomly tuning it to my taste, but rather following the ear to my taste. I also believe I mentioned that I suppose Bach tuned his instrument in the same way, not that he actually did so. The truth is, I do not know how Bach tuned his instruments. Good comment, thank you. Some say that the minuet should be played "moderately fast and pleasantly." But what tempo is considered moderate? Perhaps a little faster than the slowest version might be most correct. Regards!

It's a shame that we have been so wrong for so long about the use of the metronome, which has sparked a competition among musicians to see who can play faster.
