    Oh my goodness! I thought I had lost your channel!! This recipe has become my family’s favourite canned beef stew recipe! But I never wrote it down cause I knew your channel name and would always watch it just before making a batch to refresh my memory. Then you changed up your names. But I found you! The recipe is so delicious! Thank you for this! I plan on making this for my channel soon and will certainly add your link so everyone can come see your wonderful recipe too! I read some of the comments. Some people can be so cruel. And I am sorry for that. What bothers me is people are so critical of the editing and music choice, but yet when I visit their channels I see nothing. I don’t understand how people can be so called experts in regards to editing and video making, when they don’t even have any content of their own to reference to. I truly enjoyed the video! Job well done! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💛

    Just curious if your pork is already cooked. Why do you still have to have it in the pressure canner the whole 75 min. Shouldn't your time be half or less?

    • @Simplylivinglifethebestican
      @Simplylivinglifethebestican 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, it doesn’t matter cooked or not you must pressure can 75 minutes for pints and below. 90 for quarts

    Thank-you! Also, you can put the turkey in a cotton cloth bag and the vegetables in a separate bag. Saves from having to strain so much of the solids out.

    How many pounds of pressure?

  • @Thewarhorse47
    @Thewarhorse47 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    ADDITIONAL INFO: I just did this and my turkey was 69 cents a pound. 14 pound turkey was about $9. My elevation is over 4K feet so my pressure was 15 pounds. It took over 90 minutes to get my cooker up to pressure with a 14 pound ice cube in it, then over an hours after the 90 minute cook time to get the pressure down so I could remove the lid. I got a gallon of broth and 4 pounds, 9 5/8 ounces of meat I put in food saver bags in the freezer. With the onion, carrot, celery, and spices, I spent about $13. This works out to about $2.65 a pound for the meat. I had the turkey on the stove about 5 pm and washed out my pressure cooker about 10 pm. I processed my meat and broth the next day. This was a lot of work for less than 5 pounds of meat. I might not do it again….or I might do it again on Saturday. Lol.

    Thank you for the tutorial! Super smart to use cranberry juice. Might be a bit bitter with the Billberry we have here in Sweden but super interesting! I dried Blueberries with Raspberries once, and that was phenomenal!! ( we call Billberry Blueberry in Sweden), if they are real ripe they have a similar flavor but I guess they have more tannins like concord grape does vs normal grapes.. Allll berries grow real nice down here in the South tip of Sweden but Billberry grows wild here like Blackberries do the Pacific Northwest. (Everywhere, soooooo many berries! ). But a Blueberry festival sounds like heaven!

    These are some great ideas, but I would use a vacuum seal bag instead of a mason jar.I personally like to buy the already made bags. If I understand correctly.You fry the ground beef, rinse the cooked ground beef with water. Then you dehydrate the beef. I'm going to do this.

      You do not know what your talking about. Of course it’s dry canning when no liquid is involved. In fact there’s no such thing as dry canning concerning the device used. There are three types: pressure canning, water bath canning and steam canning. Now apologize or delete your comment. I have no time for your type.

    What pressure for 90 minutes? And what about guts inside the cavity if you cook it frozen - giblets etc. could be unpleasant in the broth

    Nice demonstration. Are those half pint jars.? Do you cook and dry can hamburger???? Thank you for the video. I look at your pork and think white gravy with pork, or pork and scrambled eggs.

    It's great at any time of year. Both celery salt and celery seeds are delicious together. She's right about freshly grated cheese. The dry, waxy pre-grated stuff is awful. We also did the Catholic thing long ago, but ate a lot of delicious white fish filet and shellfish dishes too. Great Caribbean and Louisiana recipes that remain popular. Now with meat restrictions automatically lifted for reasons of age and health, Lenten fasts are no longer required. You can eat whatever you want during Lent. Lucky cats can still enjoy tuna juices.

    I know your video is 5 years old and you might not get this comment. Just in case. I have been looking at many suggestions for canning Beef Stew, there was something wrong with all of them. Thanks to you I now realize none of them added the tomatoes. I feel dumb not catching it sooner but it isn't beef stew without tomatoes. Thank you so much I'll be adding the diced tomatoes.

      You would do the same pressure that you do for canning at your elevation. Put the turkey breast side down when you place it in the pot. This helps with moistness.

      90 minutes at 10 pounds of pressure. No matter what the size bird, just make sure it isn’t too big for your pressure canner. You want room for it to expand on all sides and top.
