    Nice video with some even nicer shots. I have an SRT 101 that was my first good camera and I still think it is one of the best cameras out there. Something about the whole Minolta SRT line, they are amazing cameras.

      @marcosrangel2625 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are several steps to setting up a composition and a large format camera. Double checking your settings, shutter, focus, etc is a good thing. Imagine you lost a shot because you realized you left your shutter open to pull focus on your camera and never closed it causing you to massively over-expose your sheet film. Good thing I double-started my Forf Mustang.

    An idea - You've only uploaded a few videos but you've got a very good presence in front of the camera. Hope to see you post more! As to an idea consider uploading a video where you take a digital photo of the actual negative used in the first image, maybe on a light table or similar, without converting to positive and talk thru what you think went wrong a bit more based on the look of the negative itself. You'll likely attract a slightly geeky crowd (no offense intended for anyone here - I'm including myself in that description) who might light up the comments a bit with suggestions on what went wrong and so forth. Good interaction via comments is a great way to start building your channel. Regardless, best of luck to you. I really believe you have what it takes to build a successful channel!

    Now that you have used small, medium, and large format film cameras, how do you compare them? If forced to narrow your collection to only one format, which would you choose and why?

  • @Narsuitus
    @Narsuitus 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice collection ! I also shoot with a Canonet, an RB67, and a 4x5 inch view camera. The Argus C3 was my first 35mm rangefinder. The Canonet was my second. The Contax G1 was my third. I now shoot with a Leica M6. My father's medium format camera was the first camera I ever used. Later, I later received a medium format as a gift. For years, I used a variety of medium format cameras before I bought a Mamiya TLR with three lenses for my first professional quality medium format. The RB67 SLR with seven lenses was my second. The Graflex press camera with 127mm lens was my first 4X5 inch camera. I now shoot a Calumet 4x5 inch view camera with four lenses.

  • @Narsuitus
    @Narsuitus 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    In another video, you said the one thing you did not like about the Canonet was that it was a fixed-lens camera. Well, the RB67 has interchangeable lenses and you only have a 90mm lens for it. What will you get for your second lens?

  • @paulsharratt8748
    @paulsharratt8748 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Issue with film is either out of date film or issue with processing. The cloudiness may be the result of improper fixing. You could repeat the fixing and stabilization part of the development process to see if that clears the negatives. Had the processing chemicals been before (then you need to increase development times). Those negatives do not look overexposed which increases contrast, the negatives look under exposed (which could also result from not increasing time in a developer that had already processed other film). It is an artistic choice but contrast can be increased in post-processing. I preferred the composition of the second image but if you lowered the camera another six inches there would be separation between the top of the lone tree and the barbed wire. Try to go back and shoot it again (to correct for the processing issues). Keep the videos rolling.

    • @jamesjacocks6221
      @jamesjacocks6221 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, exhausted fixer is the culprit. Of course, it could be insufficient fixing time but I'm taking the high road. Blix quits in a NY minute when exhausted. Temperature isn't that important in this phase.

    • @marcosrangel2625
      @marcosrangel2625 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe a good tip; Brooklyn Film Camera also does repairs! But if you're thinking about the 600 conversion, you can also search for a SLR 680. It is a little bit bigger in size but best damn Polaroid ever made in my opinion! Been shooting them for 4 / 5years now and would always go for the SLR680. (Or the Mint SLR 670 but that one is way more expensive..) Good luck & nice video!
