this is so underwhelming. we know what happened really here, and instead of really enhancing the scene, they made it look cringe and weak. the guy who plays Shanks is so bad. he just looked like he was mildly bothered by what happened.

When i see her turn into her Golb fusion, the thing that comes to me is "Her mind and body is lost forever"

I like to imagine that him cracking the piece he is on and being able to resist Golb's power fur just a small moment during the transformation is a testament to the Lich's power.

So if all individual Liches are connected and aware of what the other is experiencing, wouldn't they also fear dissatisfaction if they succeed to destroy all life in the universes they're in?

People seem to confuse Betty or Golb in this scene do I'll do my best to explain. This is Betty in this situation Look at how its eyes follow Scarab the ENTIRE time he is there. In the finale for Adventure Time, Golb almost seemed like he wasn’t paying attention to anything going on around it. In this scene, after Betty made her wish to keep Simone safe, this likely means she has little control over Golb in certain situations. Of course we can't ignore the possibility of this just being a directive added to its arsenal but something that stuck out was Normal Man's concern after Betty's sacrifice. The little "what has she done" almost made it seem like he knew she made a sacrifice to become a lonely chaotic god slaved to its own dimension. Now back to this scene, yes, it could just be an automatic sense to protect Simone from danger as seen with Scarab but this is where paying attention to the eyes is a giveaway. Rapid shaking pupils is usually a sign of rage, hate, and fear. From what we know is Golb is a being that resembles chaos itself so it doesn't seem likely it would be feel any of these types of emotions to a simole human unless it could actually process what is going on around it. While the wish Betty granted did seem to fuse them into one being, she seems to have good control over Golb's actions or Golb is still in control but just gave Simon God level protection

I'm hoping somehow in season two they released the Lich from his block prison. He's completely shattered internally after being betrayed by Golb. Perhaps he could redeem himself in some kind of self-sacrifice for Simon, Fiona, and Cake. Endangering himself for permanently for his first, new friends. I always thought it would be neat, giving the Lich a redemption story

arlong shoulda been a 6'5 body builder minimum, just CGI the actors head on some buff dudes body if you have to, because this luffy was very very good but this arlong was kinda bad and unintimidating

In the original, Oda really ramped up the tragedy by fleshing out Bellemere’s character and her actions. She’s barely in the story but she’s very distinct and memorable which is what makes the scene so sad. In the live action, the only reason it’s sad is cause Nami’s mom died which isn’t nearly as compelling

Golb act as a galactic clean up crew, disposing of worlds. Golb is a cosmic force but each force is balanced. Destruction and rebirth. The lich tried to emulate the the destructive force and ended up exterminating life around himself but he only created a path for new creations. He was killing to kill but that's not what golb is. As such he found no meaning in his mindless slaughter. When he confronted golb with his narrow and short sighted questions golb turned him into a relic. Perhaps he'll be let loose once more when destruction is required, or maybe he'll stay a trophy.
