Welcome to Calanais Standing Stones + Visitor Centre youtube channel.
The Calanais Standing Stones (or Callanish in its anglicised form) is a cruciform shaped stone circle, erected 5000 years and standing the elemental weather of the Outer Hebrides, there is much mystery surrounding their inception. Whilst it was most likely an astronomical observatory and a place of ritual activity, we invite you to visit us and uncover the mystery for yourself.
We'll posting various talks and lectures with folk who have an interesting story to tell about the Calanais Standing Stones.

President Trump's heritage is with the Isle of Lewis on his mother's side. We are so proud in America of this connection while watching with you and the Stones of Calanais.
Worth checking out the night before and the night after..not the exreme southern arc but, hey, still a sight to behold.
What a pity and just like down at Stonehenge, it was too cloudy to catch a glimpse of the moon tonight. (same here in New Zealand!) Better luck next time!
