    there are more pinball companies now than there have ever been I think. It became easier to prototype and design machines using free software and 3d printing. Design tools you can see from old promo videos that were proprietary Bally-Williams or Gottlieb tech has been cloned into various PC programs free of charge, essentially, and it’s made it pretty feasible for anyone with the drive and modest funding to get at least a few machines out the door

    Hated this hatedddddddddddddd. this show is trying to be another gen rex, but men at action seen to have forgotten their own trick. write 5 minutes of plot and fill the rest of the episode with exposition and action. here they "write" 3/4 plot but practically they have the same amount as a gen rex episode if not less and they fill it in with trite dialog . also there is an conflict of interest in the writing that they clearly want to make a plot driven action show but unlike gen rex they also need to sell toys, so as a result there bring a bunch of "concepts" to the table and developed non of them, or at least not above the level of a toy commercial. this is probably the most annoying Sonic and least heroic version of sonic to ever exist and Nine is probably the only real character on the show the rest are just props. Even then by season 3 he is so flat and lack critical thinking that it becomes absurd (although considering who he have to deal with it is almost understandable, key word being almost). A Very bad show

    This video resonated with me way more than I expected. I have watched this show on three ocassions: may 2020, january 2021 and december 2023. And I still love it sm, one of the most creative and amazing reboots I have ever watched. I am also like you a bit disappointed with how the Internet interpreted the main characters. It's so black or white.

    I heard that reading the book makes the themes way clearer, so I actually paused because I wasn't getting into the movie and read a synopsis for the book and things clicked from then on. It's not even that complex really, it's about a once loving relationship falling apart for no real good reason, something that just happens; plus other themes like relating selling out your body with selling out your integrity to Hollywood. Even the ass-shots and all the sexual imagery I interpret as them living surrounded by pleasure but not being able to enjoy it because deep down they know it's over and everything tastes sour. I've come to really appreciate movies where little happens yet when thinking about them you can peel layers and layers, the French New Wave being a gold mine if you look at it from that mindset.

    This movie is a prime example of adult content sprinkled into a young child’s movie & parents needing to be mindful of what their children watch. I am not talking about adultish jokes that go over their heads. During a point in the movie when Dark is showing Orion one of the night entities, I believe Sleep, it shows Sleep putting a pillow over the person smothering them in order to “help” them sleep, Orion recognizes what she’s doing, and Dark tells him its ok it doesn’t hurt them. The next scene is Sleep using a chloroform towel on a woman. Again Orion says “Is she using Chloroform?!” The final scene was sleep about the use a mallet to hit a baby in crib, but Orion interrupted. This is not necessary in a movie rated for 7 year olds. This is putting adult concepts & things children should not be exposed to at such a young age. Especially, when making them seem as if they were okay. When I spoke to my son about the smothering scene his reply was “it’s ok mom it doesn’t hurt.” I had to inform him that this is VERY dangerous & he should never do this bc he could kill someone. Imagine the family who has an innocent 7-8 year old who has an infant brother, he tries to put to sleep because he is crying & wants to help. I don’t understand why these movie writers continue to make movies with concepts & situations that do NOT belong in children’s movies.

    i liked this movie quite a lot actually but to say that it is a DreamWorks movie is a bit of a stretch. it is another Mikros making and DreamWorks publishing affair and it shows. this is a relatively low budget for an animated movie and uses a lot of 2d backgrounds and just 2d elements in general which Mikros mastered slowly and surely and as lavish as the latest DreamWorks made movie were they really didn't mastered it.

    Zootopia is one of the most OVERRATED Disney animated movie I have ever seen, mostly because of Oscar it received. But the real reason why I consider Zootopia to be OVERRATED is they made such a lazy twist villian like Dawn Bellwether (a sheep with glasses) and the last part of the film is rushed. Mamalade from the Bad Guys, on the other hand, makes more sense in terms of being twist villian from the beginning instead of from the near end of the film. He is a manipulator towards the Bad Guys and a complete A-hole, Hopefully the sequel of the Bad Guys will be greenlit not just to make the best Number 2 like other great DreamWorks franchises before it but to build its own legacy since the movie is loosely based on the children's book like How to Train Your Dragon. I personally love the Bad Guys characters, they have their own identities and personality. They have so much potential to become great characters here.

    10:10 that I may have insight, the original creator of the Fritz the cat character is Robert Crumb, who is notoriously sexist, racist, and just a scum bag who called himself a leftist. Ralph Bakshi is very much the opposite and imo made the movie as an indictment of people like Robert Crumb who saw themselves as progressive for minuscule things like Fritz does for the trendiness of it and not because they’re actually interested in listening to people. Crumb hated the movie so much he threatened to blackball any cartoonist that work with Bakshi

    again pros need some work. 2 can easily be a con in the future. also I'm not sure if GLITCH turn into another roster teethes they have very similar origins and if I remember correctly you don't really care for that studio's output either. Also while I agree that going for the most trendy topics or clichés can make a story more effective to a broader audience it can also lead to the writing of insanely toxic morals like: you are responsible for your parents or family or tribes mistakes even if all of the above have better and more logical solutions that don't involve you (lion king), victims of systemic racism need to be cuddled at all time and by everybody otherwise they might became would donating, war hungry dictators (centaurworld s2) and of course my "favorite" a sole survivor of a mass extinction should "choose" peace even when she is an orphan who ,as a child, was shunned from her own society and a so called "enlighten" society and didn't have any other way to create herself a livable space without resorting to terrorism(ori and the will of the wisps, although the degree of how toxic this moral is require another playthrough. it is between a tad misguided at best to irredeemable at worst). it looks like this is done for the sake of palatable drama for mass audience so the message will be more effective. to me it feels so reductive that the message they do bring across isn't the message they intended to bring up in the first place (and making me wonder if it was even a priority in the first place) .

    It is funny your reaction to this pilot was my reactions to some of Kevin Temmer videos (especially What's the Matter, Martha?) who is a key animator in this show. I can see the talent here but I leave with a bad taste in my mouth.

  • @daninogil
    @daninogil 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Valid stuff. I can simplify with all of the Hmm (cons) points you mention and agree that the dialog is very much trend chasing and rough. Personally I ended up liking the pilot for very shallow reasons : I like the voice acting, everything about the animation, design and effects and the snippets of character interactions and personality why get he. Which lead my to the next point, I don't find the pilot as a good indication of the shows quality. All they did is introduce as to the world, premise and characters and showing as that Pomni might subconsciously know more the we or she think that is it so beside the humor and visuals there isn't enough info to judge anything about the show. also this isn't glitch first show, it is their fourth show they are basically another Rooster Teethes . they started out with machinima style videos (for 8 years) and moved on to fully animated shows in the unreal engine (for 4 years) (info is taken from there website and general memory so some detail might not be wrong). they are still independent but we will need to see what will happened now. It is however the creator's first show so the amateurish feeling might come from there.

    I watched Breathless (1960) and I'm still massively pissed off about it, i've seen objectively worse films in my time as a film critic but this may be my least favorite film of all time, before I watched it, I kept hearing from everyone how impeccable it was, how masterful and flawless it was, so naturally I was extremely excited but when I finally watched it... breathless.. left me joyless, I have never seen such an amateurish patience test put to cinema that's so highly regarded, it's like a group of well-dressed tuxedo adorned gentleman surrounding a pile of actual diarrhea mumbling "astonishing, astonishing" and here I am, sitting there wondering what the hell do these tasteless, barely human creatures see in this shapeless watery splatter of indigested fire wok ramen diarrhea? this film belongs in hell. it deserves to be lost forever.

    It's kind of funny how many studios in a pursuit for the higher quality have forgotten about the goal not being realism but instead about having better tools, that's why realistic games no longer have an impact on the community, because it's expected, same goes for animation, Pixar having the most realistic environments is impressive the first time and only then, at some point it makes you wonder why even make animation if the point is about being real, just make a live action. Art style is really important, even in live actions, but many do not see this anymore.

  • @zadock6370
    @zadock6370 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    this is exactly why I don't play hyper-realistic looking games. Even when those are in a fantasy setting, there is just something about how the characters move, talk, interact, their capabilities, the laws of the world, etc. that just makes the whole game feel more realistic than I want. I want more than just simply a fantasy setting, I want a game/show that breaks the typical laws of reality itself in everything, not just he environment. this is why I love cartoons and cartoony games, but want nothing to do with live action/ralistic games. if you take a fantasy world and apply "realism" to it like a live action show would, it just ruins it for me. I would rather watch a cartoon like Clarance where nothing fantastical happens than a live action show like Game of Thrones with many fantastical elements, all because of the more subtle frequent stuff like their movements, speech patterns, tone, exaggerations, etc that that either make or break immersion. The more a show breaks immersion, the more I like it. this is why I love fanboy and chum chum.
