2008 Subaru Tribeca Oil Cooler Gasket Replacement
มุมมอง 33K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Oil cooler gasket replacement: I notice I'd have to keep topping off my oil everyweek. Dealer say the oil cooler gasket needed to replace. I'm not a pro mechanic, I just know what I need to know to get my car done. If there's anything I miss let me know. Thanks for watching.
How to use 7mm swivel socket to screw/remove #7 coil screw on Ford F150
มุมมอง 42K17 ปีที่แล้ว
Just a clip showing how to use a swivel socket to reach and unscrew the 7mm bolt/screw attached to coil. After screw is removed, you are able grab the coil with fingers; give it a slight angle tug and it will pop right out. You can use the same setup concept to remove the spark plug as well. No need to remove rail, I only unplug the 2 small hose thats in the way.
Mine was leaking also took a look under car bcuz temperature gauge kept rising and falling so I checked oil do u think tht can cause the temperature gauge to rise and fall when the oil is empty?
Это теплообменник?
Any idea what caused this? I’m having a similar issue with my 2000
Ethan 1 ended up being a rod knock, I replaced the motor.
@@mehnlo hi. Where you get you new motor ?
@@antotabora9394 I got the used motor from local auto salvage yard. Just call around and they will have it ready on a pallet for you to pick up.
Hi guys I have tribeca 06 with intermittent overheating and slowly decreasing coolant level, now it got overheated and white smoke out of the exhaust, checked the oil cap and it had white stuff on it, Do you think that’s head gasket? Thanks
Mike So sounds like headgasket needs to be replaced.
Thanks mehnlo
My 06 Tribeca has developed the same problem. Per the repair manual, they advise to drain the coolant if you intend to take off the entire oil cooler, but as you've shown, it's not really necessary. By the way, the tightening torque on the oil cooler bolt is 40 ft-lbs. Thanks for sharing.
EJ257IHI good to know about the torque. Thanks

hii I own a Tribeca 2011 model which i purchased pre owned. The audio and aircon panel lights, steering control lights, gear shift lights and other dash light dont light up. Please help
Very helpful! Going to get my gasket fixed soon.
Nice, but please use a Subaru oil filter! They are pretty cheap and really the best I've tried them all - K&N, Mann, Bosch, Ryco.
What size socket did you use to get the middle drain bolt off? nm 24mm LOL
Do I need to add some sort of glue like hiteck permatex to hold the gasket in?
Michael Hinchey i didn't use any glue nor heard anyone else that use glue.
OK. There are sites explaining to use some silicone adhesive for gaskets. Thx
Michael Hinchey when I took the old one off, there were no traces of adhesive or silicone.
great video. correct torque is 40 lb/ft. I also dropped the coolant pipe to have easier time accessing the gasket.
This is exactly the problem on my 2007 Tribeca. Since I have to take the vehicle in for the hood latch recall, I might as well just let the dealership service department replace the gasket. Thanks for the video!!
Would you happen to know where the automatic transmission filter is located inside or outside?
Great video.Solved the leak around the filter. Thanks

Nothing disturbs lol god damn neighbor.
great job. question did anyone have done the valve cover yet ? and what r the torque specs if u know
Thanks for the detailed posting. I have an '04 Outback that is doing the same thing. I will tackle this when I change my oil in a month or two.
Oil, u forgot oil, at least didn't show or hear you say u topped it off with what drained out ..
Excellent video bro!
Awesome thanks man!
I dare you to blow the leaves back in his yard.. :)
Yes, leak is solved to this day.
