Hi! I am glad you find the video helpful! For your query, for the first question. Yes they are really two lines for the hair parting, the outer line is to make sure that the scalp is covered on the parting area, at the same time it adds volume to the first line to make the part more natural. It goes slightly behind the the finished side and in between plugs to create the interweaving effect of the part. Instead of rooting it on alternating sides. I it is a more cleaner and easier way of making the part. I hope this helps!^_^

When using watercolor pencils, it’s very important to use MSC as a primer to make the vinyl surface porous. Otherwise, the pigment will not adhere to the vinyl if you don’t use MSC.;-)

Hi Sool! It depends on the thickness of the strands of hair. It varies from different doll hair suppliers. I normally just eyeball it. But with the kind of hair I am using, I guess it’s roughly around 8-14 strands. I suggest you make a sample plug first then plug it into one of the holes. If it’s too thick, you can easily feel the difficulty of tugging the hair out of the head. And if it’s too thin, it will easily come out (including the knotted part) when you pull the hair out. I hope this helps! ;-)

Hi Drianna! Thank you so much I am so happy you like the end result. Using watercolor pencils are also a great way of customizing dolls as well. It’s a matter of using what you are comfortable with. I’ve been using acrylics for quite sometime now. You can try both acrylics or watercolor pencils and choose which one works best for you. Some artists combine both acrylic and watercolor pencils. Thanks Isabel!:-) I normally don’t use primer or sealer before applying acrylic paints. Although I recommend using it before if you’re going to use watercolor pencils.;-*
