I Have a new favorite genus and it’s Hoya’s. I have acquired quite a few this spring and summer, so it’s time for an update.
Aglaonema's and LECA

Since I have had positive results placing a number of my propogation in LECA, I decided to try LECA with two of my problematic Aglaonema’s!

So, I had a wonderful time visiting family, but unfortunately, we have some casualties post vacation. However, for the most part my plants did very well. So, let’s talk about what I did right, and what I did wrong!

So, I am constantly changing areas in my home, to add more plants. I use to hate working in my office, but now that I have “plantified” my office area, I now love working in this space
LET’S TALK LECA!

So you guys, I bought a bag of LECA a couple of months ago, and it has just been sitting in the corner of my office. But, today, I am going to transplant a few of my propogations into LECA.

IMPROMPTU SHOPPING AT HOME DEPOT

The Home Depot in my area is stepping it up. They had Alocasia’s, Calathea’s, Algonema’s, Ficus and more!

So you guy, do you remember the cabinet that I refurnish. Well, today I am going to show the plants that are currently inside.
Gnat suggestion: MICROBE-LIFT BMC Biological Mosquito Control. It comes in a small dropper bottle for less than $20. You literally put one drop in your water used to water plants and in a few weeks the gnats will be GONE. If you use it consistently, you'll only see them if you bring home new plants 🤗 just one drop! If you get the Zevo traps, that'll get rid of the adults that much quicker. Good luck!

Really, please don’t laugh at me, but I don’t know what a marble pink princess is or what the difference is between that and a regular princess. If you have time, can you let me know what the differences are? And thank you for watching and commenting.🥰
@@GraciouslyGrowing Of course I wouldn't laugh at you, I don't know everything either!! If you google marble pink princess and look at the images, yours looks like it has that type of variegation. It is almost the same as the regular pink princess but the variegation is a little different. I could be wrong tho but it looks like what you have. It's beautiful!

All of them is so beautiful I'm trying with the alocasia I haven't figured out yet
Don’t even get me started. I’m not doing very well with my Alocasia Odora. The leaves are dying off, so I have repotted it in Molly‘s aroid mix and I have also treated it for pests even though I haven’t seen any. I’m hoping that it will recover.

The hoya you asked about the ID of is either a khroniana or a lacunosa. They're very similar and I've seen it called both names. Regardless, it should be a great bloomer for you. 🌸
I really hope you’re right about the blooming because I have yet to get a Hoya to bloom, I cannot wait !

I used a gallon jug to let water sit, reverse osmosis. I let the water sit in between my plants to increase humidity. I propagate with Pumice and Leca mixture with great success. 🪴Happy Planting🌿
I have tried letting the water sit, but my calathea’s still don’t like it. I have never tried pumice, is it pricey
