maybe i may share this idea: how would it be to offer a webinar about chosing a home in the desert? I know i am one of the more complicated clients, but i certainly am not the only one with so many questions: which is the city i should choose, based on which priorities (entertainment-options? safety? prices?)... and i am sure many clients keep in asking the same questions, while some questions of other clients yet may be helpful for myself to even consider (even though thats an issue i havent even paid enough attention to in my planing process....etc...etc)

15:25 to me was the most important part of the video, after all these beautiful and informative insights....because that what came to my mind: "these communities are ALL amazing...but now, how could i ever make a final decision??" so thanks so much for sharing this

I am in the Canary Islands right now. The climate is spectacular...so are the beaches. What i do envy about PS though is, how clean, tidy and well organised everything is. So...living on long term: maybe yet Palm Springs (even though, i would be out of town mid of june until mid of september)

I am a single male, who loves just chilling and relaxing in cafés with a good book... I assume Palm Springs may not be the right spot, because it is too touristy and coffee shops may not be happy about a single person drinking his coffee in the italian way (sitting there for hours)...which city would be the best to offer a good variety of cafes and restaurant-culture but is yet calm, relaxed and more laid back than palm springs?

Back in the 80s and 90s, we use to go to PS a lot since I lived in LA. "A million miles away on a half a tank of gas" said the billboard!!! But it was kinda smallish and sleepy - I can't imagine that there are "bad" areas. Some of Cathedral City got a little on the shady side if you went that far, but crime wasn't really an issue. Life goes on I guess......

I remember when the working class could afford to buy a home here.

I have been to Mismayola, nice resort town. Nice people. Night of the Iguana was filmed next to the beach. I went prior to the gang crime problems along the Gold Coast.

Curious about HOAs and/or other monthly fees.

Have you checked out Bucerias? I'll be moving there this December. I chose to purchase there as it is quieter and more laid back than PV. Also, it's walking distance to everything. No need to own a car. That's a plus for me!

Cody Homes are basically adobe architecture which dates back to nearly 8300BC in the Middle East, the rectangular style does look modern and sleek even though the style gets its roots from the past when indigenous Pueblo people created these durable homes out of sand, straw, and clay in that same rectangular shape which protected them from extreme temperature swings. Anyway, it fits well there in the desert. Before the nation was colonized by Europe and Britain Adobe homes were found throughout the southwestern United States. I like the Cody Homes modern version, it has a lot of natural light. Thanks for the tour.

Of course.. we are looking at maybe to be our final destination home sometime next year. The low desert is on our list. Use to work in the area for twelve years so, kind of now the area somewhat… we are not that a way to the low desert just down the road in near Redlands Ca.

Looking for an active 55 plus community for in-laws. Looking for recommendations on best communities that take care of the residents and are not looking to rip off seniors. They don’t play golf but want a pool and walking trails. Any recommendations? Any place that allows golf carts be cars? Gated with security would be ideal.

La Quinta seems much more calm, peaceful and laid back than Palm Desert (where shops are more along the - sometimes busy - main road) and of course more than Palm Springs, which is rather "vibrant" and specially on the weekends can be quite busy. But please: I have never been to Palm desert, my opinion is only based on the documentaries, city tours and explore-videos in found in youtube...so if i am wrong, I am more than happy to hear from locals, if my impression is correct!

The more i watch Kims Videos, the harder it gets to decide, because it all sounds too tempting! 🙂 I guess I am a Palm Springs guy (as a gay guy, the decision is more or less clear *haha*)...but what i saw about La Quinta and also Palm Desert looks so amazing.

Hello Kim. I hope all is going well. Thank you very much for this great video about La Quinta!! The chamber of commerce should be paying you for advertising them so well!! I put a few google maps pins for the restaurants! We are always down for a great mexician restaurant! My wife just got out of the hospital for a hip replacement. So, it is going to be a couple of months before we return to the valley. But...she is now a hipster, so we will look to go to the hip restaurant hehehe
