At what point (# of plants/life circumstances) did you decide to dig with implement vs hand dig? I loved all my varieties I bought from you this year.

I live in the gorge too and I keep my dahlias in the ground all winter successfully. But now the clumps are getting too big - should I divide and replant in the fall or dig them up in spring and then divide? Please advise.

Are they shipped ground shipping or by air?
