เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 มี.ค. 2012
Hi, this is Pastor Jack Hughes. My TH-cam channel is devoted to expository preaching, inductive Bible study, and spiritual growth. As far as expository preaching I hope to help men who desire to be expository preachers but who do not have the luxury of going to seminary and to encourage all biblical expositors. As far as inductive Bible study, I hope to help the average Christian learn how to study the Bible inductively and for those interested to teach them how to write and teach inductive Bible studies. I also hope to include a variety of videos that will encourage any Christian in their spiritual growth. PDF documents highlighted on TH-cam video series can be found on my website www.drivennails.com. My wife writes inductive Bible studies for women that can be accessed at www.scripturepaths.com.

Study Build Project
มุมมอง 14K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
People have asked me to post a video of my seven year study project. God was very kind and gracious in raising up benefactors from different places that made my "dream" pastor's study possible. I pastor a small church and for the first several years pastoring it we barely got by, but God provided outside resources so I could build my study, also called "the sermon factory." This is a video of G...

How to Use Visual Filters for Greek and Hebrew Texts
Very helpful. Thank you
I have DBL Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Is LN redundant? The LN link doesn’t open because I don’t have that resource, but the DBL definitions include the LN number.
If you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, nothing can hurt you. Everything either sanctifies you, or kills you and sends you to glory, both of which are good. Amen! Mic drop, goodnight 🎤 3:48
Pastor Jack. Thank you for this series. Are lecture slides available for download?

@ Thank you!
Hey Pastor Jack, I was curious - what translation do you primarily read/study/teach from?
Grateful to have found this channel. It’s so timely!
Hello- Thank you very much for posting these videos - they have helped me a lot. I have a question: how did you insert the big blue numbers, as seen at 1:43? God bless you, brother--
@@chetega I created a custom highlight pallet for numbering texts. When you create a custom highlight feature you can tell it to insert a number, picture, or symbol before or after what is highlighted. So I selected before and did a series of numbers and letters so I can visually see the outline in my text. You can turn this off whenever you want or erase it too.
brilliant! thank you so much for this :)
How would you do you notes using Power Point / Keynote?
Helpful thank you. I was thinking about getting Biblearc in addition to my Logos, but now I won’t need to. This does what I wanted!
Thank you very much Dr. Jack for all these videos, they really are so helpful. God bless you.
Love this…this is why you preach and I don’t
very cool
Wow! Just wow. So good. My gray matter is trying to catch up but, SO helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of Logos software and the new TSK Pastor Hughes.
Thanks brother! I graduated from TMS back in 2009. I watched this whole series, and found it very helpful and useful!
Praise God!
Thank you, Pastor Jack!
Interesting video. These tools are only in the paid version of Logos? (Grammatically speaking, "set" is the only verb. "To study”, "to practice" and "to teach" are all infinitive phrases.) ❤
Where did "Jack's custom note" come from?
That is a list of the notebooks. If you need to know how to make a notebook, I searched it on Google and a tutorial is on the Logos website.
Hi Jack, that was wonderful. Thank you brother.
Good information about nTSK among off-topic rabbit trails - Logos layouts, diagramming, systematic theology. The nTSK stuff starts at 17:06 (25:03 really) and gets into details at 26:39. I would have liked to see an example of the "+" symbol.
Thank you for taking the time to post so much valuable info and knowledge about sermon prep and everything that goes into it. I appreciate that you give a more practical approach for us wanting to fulfill our calling to preach the word. Thank you!!
I am sorry, but this was not very helpful at all. I want to specifically know how to use and benefit from using TSK. In all fairness I didn’t watch the whole video. As soon as you started explaining LOGOS I Fwd but could not find your detailed explanation on TSK. It’s misleading to head the video as though you are going to explain TSK but then basically sell LOGOS …. ? So frustrating…..you started off so well……sorry if I completely missed the boat 🙈
I am considering getting standard diamond or reformed portfolio. Whats your thoughts?
You never showed the Gospel Presentation of this study. Also, I am looking for the completed sermon but can't find it. Will you direct me to the PDF?
Here is a link to the written version of step by step sermon prep from the sermon construction category on my website, www.drivennails.com. static1.squarespace.com/static/54444d8be4b015161ccf180f/t/5f29eb2c942d474f5e2d6e87/1596582702458/2017-1+Step+by+Step+Prep.pdf
here is the sermon link anchorbiblechurch.subspla.sh/s8r45jn
look up king james pure bible search you'll love it, it's free too.
Very Great... I need to get the "NEW" TSK.
Loved this series, thank you Pastor Hughes!
I was wondering if you could share the custom size you set your page to for the IPad? I have an Air 4 and at present I just leave Word at the default and export as a PDF but I like the idea of fitting the page to the iPad. Thank you
Well, I just measured the screen and for my recently purchased iPad Pro 11" my custom page size is 6.3" x 9". I use .5 margins left and right and .3 top and bottom.
What app are you using to record your teaching with your video on the screen? Great teaching. I am new to logos and you cover everything throroughly!!!
Screenflow by Telestream
Pastor Jack; came across your instructional Logos video today; wow! great presentation!! Everything from your green screen to emphasizing/zooming of text is spot on. What software do you use for these type of presentations? Thanks for the tips on using Logos note files!
Thank you, Brother! Very helpful!
Is this software expensive.

Just found this channel a few days ago. This is a great resource for me. Thanks.

Hey, is there a reason why you use word to draft your sermon and then import into logos?
I use Word and write my sermons on a custom page size that fits my iPad screen. When the sermon is finished I save it to PDF. Then upload it to my iPad using PDF Expert. In the video the reason it looks different is I use "focus" mode in Word (bottom of the screen in Word). It is cleaner and I like to work in focus mode. @@DrJackHughes makes sense. I’m drafting a sermon in logos, and I’m not a fan. But, I do have an older version.
Very cool!
Thank you - very helpful! Although I have a number of linguistic resources, I didn't have some of the ones you've shown. I've picked up a few tips about finding my Notes on the Exegetical Guide, and the 'hover over' for the Hebrew. Really appreciated this video!
Didn't see BDAG as one of your go-to word study tools. Any reason? Thanks. Love all of your diagramming videos as well!
@@stevenold2448 I have it and use it regularly
Love the methodology that you put into sermon prep. There are some overlapping features that I do in my sermon prep, but you introduced different techniques that I want to implement. Thank you for sharing the video - from a Reformed guy who spiritualizes stuff ;)
Sry I ment hi
I have recently found your channel. I am very thankful for this series and the fact that you preach through the Bible :) Thanks!
You have helped me so much be able to study the Word. God Bless and keep you and your family
Thanks! I had learned from other videos how to create a note but you showed a great application of notes!
Excellent introduction! Thank you for making this available.
Wow, this is so helpful! Thank you for teaching it. What a blessing!
