You sit there alone near the great doors, the sounds of battle, of a city falling, a city dying, all around you. Then the doors are struck several times loudly, booms echoing around you before they crash open. I stagger in, my apothecary armor a different model and color to yours, a different chapter, one of the most highly venerated there is, the chapter that will always stand and fight no matter the odds. However you bear the armor of a chapter of warriors that never fails a task it is given, renowned for it's bravery and loyalty to the empire, a chapter that has been relied on and excelled more times then can be remembered. My raspy pained voice tells you everything as I lurch towards you. I collapse to my knees as I get to you. It's clear I won't make it another step. You reach out to support a fellow warrior. But I bat your hand away from me as I kneel in incredible agony as parts of myself melt right in front of you. I reach behind me to retrieve and then hand you the container holding the geneseed of many slain brothers of my chapter entrusting you to safeguard and escape with it as I slowly die before you. "I will get them home." A promise made. You turn to run. I turn to raise my bolter and fire at the approaching necrons, green gauss flashes around me before I'm hit again in my torso. I flinch but keep firing but a second later a flash of green hits my armoured gauntlet and half of my arm melts in seconds. My bolter drops to the ground. My last dying sight is the enemy showing utter contempt as they stalk past me as my armor, body and my consciousness disintegrates into nothing...
