Set Design, Film And Theatre - Why Is Production Design So Amazing?
Only today I discovered your channel. It’s really rare to see such global look to a design itself, not just specific area. Keep it up!
Copycat products are not worng if they're cheaper
ALDI’s copycat Products don’t stop at food. They also do that for laundry detergent as well. I am perfectly content with that because it is on average $6 cheaper and I get the same results!
Don't fall for a cashless society folks.
100%
Aldi keeps the brands in line. When the big guys do their shrinkflation Aldi can be tastier as well as the cheaper product. After UK Brexit we have had more continental lagers now brewed in the UK, as well as their Alcohol content reduced so they pay more tax. This leads to several of the Aldi brands being held back by association!
I disagree. I think the paperclip could be made a little bit better just by increasing the length of the wire and turn on itself one more time. That way either end can clip to the paper.
Thanks for your comment, one on my first ever video so deserves a full responce! There have been many attempts at improving the design but it’s always come back to this shape. Would the extra material costs of your proposal and extra manufacturing step result in a marked improvement worth the investment?
In general, no, the cost would not be worth it. However I thought of it as a simple addition to alleviate the one frustration I have with the standard design, and add minimal manufacturing complexity, save for the extra maaterial.
Just one thought in addition to the beer-case. I'm not sure, if the case is the same in the us, but in Germany ALDI often orders the the products from the the same brand-company and just redesigns the wrappings. Here in Germany, you can look up the company-codes and will notice, that the manufacturers behind the ALDI-products are the same as the well known brands, you just cant see it immediatly :)
A lot of misinformation in here
Hi! A nice video :) One point you didn't say, at least in Germany quite some private-label products are from the same factories as the branded product. Sometimes in clear sight (as being printed as the producer on the back), sometimes more hidden (as in having created a subsidiary with another name to be printed on), sometimes even more hidden (as in the supermarket is printed as the responsible entity, then you have to investigate more). When confronted with that, the companies most often say stuff like "different quality of ingredients" etc. So the brands make money with Aldi and co. as well, and they will do so because the purchasing power of the discount stores is so giant.
Pasta is a perfect example of this, there is pretty much 3 factories that make all the pasta…
Mostly I avoid the "Brand Trap" because most of the time it is a Gigantic RIP-OFF. Even products where I choose to buy brand, I look for a replacement regularly.
Miele is currently the best but Siemens iq700and Bosch series 8 are fantastic machines to get involved and strip down Dyson machines and didn't rated them says it all over price Dyson
This is why i go to a different store for groceries
The story of how it was detected is absurd. There is no way that device had the power to transmit more than a few meters if that. Remember back then it was all valves and electro-mechanical.
Makes it look like the tgrwat of execution is what mXe it possible the way its emphasised
The safest power production in the world today................. As long as nothing goes wrong ay 🤨
😂😂😂
How stupid were they to put this in an office? Anything my enemy gave me would be deconstructed in forensic detail no matter how unlikely it was to be sinister.
The Aldi mars bar and milky way dupes are actually nicer imo
I believe the ubiquity of knock-off brands is proof of how strong brand loyalty is for most people. It's tough for a genuinely new product to compete against some of the top established brands because most people generally stick to what they know and can count on for quality. Dressing up your product similar to household brands makes the leap much easier for consumers.
First one by one to sell something on a higher price just because you made the brand popular but the quality is bad it's not good second, to steal other people's ideas and work and to make profit of it, it's not good so the option is, just by products that are famous, or not, but are good quality and go to supermarkets where they sell those products and maybe products of their own that are good quality too I'm not buying something just because it's famous I buy something because it's good and I wouldn't go to Aldi
This attitude is somewhat strange. Considering that ALDI does not have its own production facilities, who do you think makes their products? Kelloggs? Ferrero? Muller? Danone? Storck? Griesson? Milram? and many others. They prefer to keep their production lines running and produce exactly these 'FAKE' products for Aldi. You can see exactly where the products come from, from the barcodes.
"Rambo Last Blood" had for one of the extras a piece on the building of the house where Rambo has tunnels and weapons. It was built in some Eastern European country and it was a working set with real tunnels and real interiors.
Can you believe that such greedy selfish ignorant idiots in power decided to build such a facility and run it so badly, risking so many lives, all just to build a single bomb and blow it up.
I think we all know the answer to that!
I think architects should not design cars 😉
lol, probably a good idea! Feel they need to make more of a statement than a usable car.
It was not stopped completely, it was stopped before it became horrendously bad; there was still, nevertheless, radioactive dust released from the chimney of Pile 1 (whose core was on fire).
"Communicate Influence and Inspire" Im taking this quote and using it in my next video.
Go for it! The internet is all about sharing and collaboration!
🙌 🔥 💡 WOW MAN ..... WE NEED MORE OF THESE
Wish I could do many more they just take so long to make!
Where the hell were you?
Lol, keeping very busy! One day hopefully I’ll be able to do some stuff on the design work I actually do for a job!
It's good to be back! Hopefully the start of a semi regular upload schedule. Drop a link on the video (if you did) it genuinely does help as much as everyone says!
Hmmm, sounds like AI indoctrination to me.
I think the dawn of Ai will go down as a seminal moment in human history much like the agricultural revolution, or the industrial. Better to understand it than dismiss. But don’t get me wrong I’m no advocate, some of the implications when it’s in the wrong hands terrify me.
It feels like this whole video was made by AI. At least the thumbnail is.
Lol I guess that’s the modern conundrum. However, I can assure you the only Ai elements in the video are the abstract CGI bits at the end, courtesy of Google deep mind.
@BehindDesigns good to hear!
Really interesting, another great video!
Thanks 🙏
I'm so glad to see a new video! This was a great look into graphic design.
Thanks for the support, really appreciate it!
'm proud to have Aldi copycat products in my house, because it shows off one of my core values: being frugal. I hate spending money just for a brand name on my food.
A good way to be particularly in today’s financial climate!
I'd buy a copycat version of anything it is in my price range
The dfference is, all these cheap copycat items at Aldi are only the packaging because the food tastes nothing like the original.. far inferior...
I would agree, since I made that video the quality has dropped off for sure…
How is possible in mangmant dignig
Not sure what you mean but happy to help with your question.

His description of what Wigner energy is, how and why it's released is inaccurate, but otherwise good work.
Thanks, I’m clearly no physicist but wanted to highlight a huge “sliding doors” moment in our history.
Trademark is nothing more than the Disneyfication of brands. Disney took everything from fairytales, sages and even history and took it to a Comercial raid on historic values. So, now Lidl, Aldi, and Trader Joe's do the same. Deal with it.
Starts at 2:00
Not all hero’s wear capes…
now we are using this tech in battery-free rfid tags for merchandise anti-theft tag to door entry rfid tags !!!!! Wait a minute!Does that mean that any rfid linked a Mic or piezoelectric buzzer can be used as a remote spy mic, when a special EM wave beam is shot at it and decoding the voice from the return wave? Our phones all have mic and rfid coil like NFC for touch pay, touch fiile transfer, and wireless charging coil, also speakers( might be reversed as microphone?) , so even phone's battery is diisconnected or depleted, as long as a phone with mic or speaker and rfid coils it can spy on your surrounding sounds whenever sooneone beam a special radio wave at it and decode the return wave. Even toll tags with a buzzer and rfid might be able to listen with a incoming special radio wave. Another interesting twist from the comment from another viewer of a similar subject youtube video: Though this tech is very likely true and still developing today, but this spying incidence may have a possibilty of a lie by US gov to hide the true origin of this tech (my personal opinion): @robertsakay587 7 days ago This never the case. When any department in the United States received a gift from a the former Soviet Union the item would be broken down to it very last part and screened for unidentified electronics. Following the the Cold War it was then down graded security, and then shared that our operatives fed false information for years helping us win the Cold War.
I usually buy what's more Ethical. Example a lot of Lidl products have fairtrade. (We don't have Aldi in Malta)
Very commendable. Unfortunately I think over the last few years and the cost of living crisis the importance of environmentally and fair trade products has fallen off consumers radar.
The companies that spend a lot of money on psychology, design, marketing, and advertising do get it all back via the prices they charge the customer, so the customer ends up paying to be manipulated, not the company. Everybody who shops at AlDI knows the products are not identical to the branded ones - and they all can read the big label on the product. In addition, the branded companies themselves have always had spies and scientists. Nobody's developing anything n a vacuum. Imagine if every airplane manufacturer had to build planes that looked completely different from those of another. Imagine if every car manufacturer couldn't completely copy the design of every other car manufacturer (LOL)! And in the U.S., if there weren't generic prescription drugs, most people would have to sell their homes to live another month. And fighting in court over colors and designs, when one label may resemble somewhat the label of another ,but is otherwise clearly identified as another product, is a frivolous waste of the court's resources. It's just a way for a big company to push smaller brands out of busines and jack up the price. And I say all this as a guy whose father worked on some of the biggest advertising campaigns the world had ever seen in the 1960s. It just gets silly.
Guy on TH-cam explains how this works and recreated it.
That Dyson didn't/ aren't/won't bring prototypes of radically different technologies to potential future customers to give the new product a good kicking around is a wonderful way to learn lessons without blowing the company wad and reputation. That's pretty basic stuff in product development. I get and admire the company for starting with a clean sheet of paper when they tackle a perceived need, but in trying to be completly encumbered with the original technology, they dismiss what made the old design useful for whatever amount of time. The only problem I have with the technology of my clothes washer, is it taking an hour to get the job done. Not wasteful water--there is a very small used in Energy Star appliances--nor electricity. I've never understood people's obsession with cleaner clothes. If they are so concerned, they might try using smaller loads and the auto-water setting on the appliance with high-efficiency detergent. Taking a little more time and pre-washing using undiluted detergent that one would work into stains and perspiration rings is a trick we have all forgotten, but it does a marvelous job. Elon Musk, a man I thoroughly loathe, but a hell of a smart guy sets an example that I hope the Dyson Company takes note of. He came up with the hardest thing about the most important part of his automobile. He found as many uses as he could for it. It would be a key cost reducer and give his company the nimbleness that it was going to need to jump in this crazy industry he was diving into with full force and to keep the momentum up with astounding new products dropping like cluster bombs. Dyson is not interested in being a market leader, but having important bits, like a motor perhaps*, or whatever the tech could be hung on another product to realize the goals that Dyson might have. *I'm part of the marketing team, and haven't a clue what the "important bits" to anything, other than if they are shiny and whirl. I can always make those qualities the center of everything without troubling the individual with the annoying physics). I'm the Hazel the Housekeeper in my world, so I look at appliances the same way a mechanic looks at a tool. I'm pretty sure my machine is another iteration of the HE (high efficiency) machines first designed in the 1990s somewhere. And They were modifications in an older design from around the mid-1960s. And so on. There was nothing wrong with any of these designs other than modifying as nessisary for market or government changes. It is, bless its head, a Electromechanical Device. If we could snitch Star Trek's Transporter for a joy ride and haul my Whirlpool back to 1940, the mechanic back then would be able to look at it and figure out the tech pretty quick. Will my fancy-pants stripped down Whirlpool do a better or worse job than handmaid cleaning my clothes by hand? I dunno. I've never considered it before. Have you? 😁🙄😆
I am a "high functioning" autistic and I have all sorts of attention deficit issues. I am either a drag or highly amusing. Ramifications apply here. I would happily spend a month peeking, gasping and staring in amazement in any studio property--what nervana! As for the movie? Sooner or later, I'd get around to seeing it streaming, but it never holds my attention. It's not that we don't have the means to show films that are impressive, I've been told by some of our more charming-er guests. I am of those Karens that'll bitch about movies not being where they need to be, To My Standards. Fin. I'm holding out for when they've got movies tearing up the dinner theater market, except with all the electronic doo-dads to kick immersive theater up a notch. I say they will catch this senile old goat attention when we are interacting with the characters and playing parts in the seemingly impromptu storyline. We have been pinching ideas off of Star Trek for sixty years, why aren't we further along with a holodeck? It will require better actors. It goes without saying that the dinner part of the evening must stand up to this. Stouffer's will not do.
I like Aldi Fruit Loops
❤
Recycling materials is a great issue, this I know from within. Great video.
