Catalina Island October 2014

Bird Rock & Isthmus Cove. Due to warm water temperatures, most kelp is now gone. Very different "look" for a Catalina dive, yet exceptional visibility. Interesting encounter with a Horn Shark. Also brief footage of a Yellowfin Tuna.
Heisler Park - Feb 2014 - Soupfin Shark :)

Great day for the sharks! A Soupfin came to visit and I also happened upon a nice sized Angel Shark. Visibility was 15 at best and conditions were surgy. Shot in a depth range of 25-30 on the outer reefs. Canon G11 - no color correction/white balance only (and not frequently enough!)

Deadman's Reef - Laguna Beach, CA

Deadman's Reef can be reached via Crescent Bay (Laguna Beach, CA). It is famous for it's "coffin", "Deadhenge", abundant marine life and ... a challenging surface swim (approximately 200 yards). This video was shot in January 2012 with a Canon G12.
Wow... My best friend, Nice video... Beautiful place Enjoy watching this video... Have a nice day.
Beautiful place! Been diving there myself for years. Never gets old. Thank you so much!
What made the visibility like Long Beach?
Stunning footage, so beautiful!
are those purple urchins or whatever they are called.... are they an invasive species?? I thought those purple things ate away the life on reefs and stopped the kelp forest from growing. ???????????? anyone??
I honestly don't remember if they are invasive but I know when I was doing my open water certification years ago my instructor would pick them off and open them up with a knife to feed the Garibaldi (orange fish) they would swarm you and eat right out of your hand. It was pretty cool.
Where is Begg Rock and San Nicolas Island?
