so much resignation with your words! damn dude well said, something for myself to think about
You should have gotten a real degree
What was your tuition a year? Did you retake a lot of classes? Pay for room and board?
The issue isn't going to school. The issue is choosing a major that isn't in demand and attending an overpriced school.
Are all these creative endeavors gonna pay the bills though? People go corporate because it pays.
They have so far LMAO
Babyyy 😩 I only went cause of my parents too! I knew in High school I didn’t want to go.
We live and we learn 😭🤦🏾♂️
No degree unless your going for law/ doctor... Requires this type of money... No degree, i wouldnt feel comfortable with this type of debt..like at all. I got 7/8k of debt and im freaking the fk out... 100k LMFAO... Boi, I'd suffer. Good luck to you.. genuinely
I have 3 degrees including a masters and only have 12k debt left down from 30k. I went to cheap state schools that were fully accredited. No ivy clad institutions and im grateful i didn’t go to one. Im not cut from that cloth and wasnt born into money
I cant justify going back to school for a masters.its way too expensive and things cost way too much now. If i did iwiukd be working all the time wuth no time for anything else.
Your mom ruined your life. I just hope you don't end up working at McDonald's flipping patties. 100k is no joke bro. I started with 12.5k debt and now it's down to 3.4k. If you knew what I went through to pay it off, it would kill your motivation. Stay strong brotha
Dang my son’s degree cost 44k. He went for finance. He got a job for 77k out of school.
I got super fuckin lucky. I got my loans completely forgiven.
LUCKYYYYYY 😭 that’s fire
no college is worth 100k
That’s crazy !! I wish you all the best ❤
Man, thank you for this. I know it was a lesson learned on your end. But this video will help many people. I’m 26 and am thinking of what’s next for me. Been debating on if I should go back to school bc the one I currently have isn’t serving me etc… this video gave me something to think of and consider. Wishing you the best, you got this. Whatever you think about, comes about. Whatever you focus on, grows✨
Thank you man 🙏🏾 I’m happy I was able to help fr. College is definitely a marathon and super doable, but that’s only if you ACTUALLY want to do it lol

You better look up course careers, Do the tech sales program take less than a month. Starting salary is 70K most hit 80-100k with 1-2 years. Or stack up & move abroad. The system doesn’t make since about time you pay that off you could have been a millionaire overseas. Apparently it cost $2200 for the whole year with utilities in a nice gated luxury community in Ghana. You can always come back. Or own a blue collar business. Look I know no one wants to clean, do lawn care, window washing etc. But, it’s a needed business. Just know all my clients work in tech sales and can afford to pay 120-400+ in recurring billing monthly. My min per hour is $60 and will soon be $100. Please don’t sleep on it. Hope this helps. And oh my cleaning business alone paid off my car quick.
We all had the same mom 😢. I don't even want to know what my loan total is.
keep hustling. learn how to sell and market your services while working part time. lego!
I feel this fr like on another level….
Take it from the old head here…I just finished paying off my loans at 48! I borrowed 76k for undergrad and a masters. I paid back 116k! And if it were not for the payment pause with no interest it would have surely been tens of thousands more. The system is jacked. The schools overcharge and the government adds on with the interest on the loans. They should have some sort of sliding scale for reduced interest over time of payments. I could go on but…🤷🏾♀️
@@LifewithTee76 yeaaaaaaaa definitely got overcharged solely because of all the classes I took which had NOTHING TO DO with my concentration. Plus the time spent doing it. You live and you learn 😂

@@shannon8715 it’s a “Blue Yeti”
We are on the same wave length, I started college and realized it was a money grab. A lot of what you are learning is outdated, you’ll never use or you can simply Google/TH-cam and self teach yourself. And then you graduate with all of this debt with the hope, you’ll get a high paying job. Most colleges do not prepare their students for the real job market and that’s the real issue.

Basiacally you could have taken some time in between semesters to work and pay your tuition in full for the following semester, because 100k in this economy is not healthy bro. If it’s like 5% in interest u will either have to be making bank 🏦, or else u will not be able to pay that off just due to the high interest
Depending on how much you will be making yearly, and how serious u are to pay this off, this could take you 5-10 years of your life just to get even bro. That’s not a very good investment. You are behind in life 10 yrs, so it’s advisable you take action now!

@@RiqWhee MANNNNN. I always see the most results when I’m betting on myself.
Hello. I’m 27 year old. Life is hard aF after college. And extremely expensive. I graduated college in 2021 with $36k in student loan debt. 💸 I got my degree in information technology. Actually managed to get a career in that field right at the peak of job hiring season in early 2022. Game plan: Stay at that job and pay off the debt, i have no choice at this point. I didn’t even move out because it’s not wise. Save and stack money. Get yourself on a budget. You can still be a creative & do what you love. (Hell, i’m an artist myself.) but i know what if I’m struggling financially with money, i’ll be too stressed to create. So that’s my advice for young people with Student loans. Just start working & get some money! We need it in this life. 🤷♀️ $100k in student loan debt… maybe do an income driven repayment plan until you have start earning more money.
IDR plans is how you stay in debt longer. Pay off as much as possible
What's the interest? That'll keep you in debt for life if not careful.
That’s how they keep you in debt. You pay on interest for a year or more and you’re getting nowhere. You’d payments would have to be triple to touch the principal. There should be no interest on student loans.
There are hundreds/thousands of pieces of information that state if you’re going into debt, it has to be for a high paying industry. If you can’t afford to pay out of pocket, it’s your fault that you made this choice. You better get HIGH paying in demand skills. You had 4 years to do so.
Well realistically, that could be paid off in a year. One good year as an entrepreneur is crucial. Debt would scare me if I wasn’t doing what I’m doing tbh
Bro I’m over here stressing about 12k in loans I think I’d cry everyday with 100k😢
Takes money to make money ig 😭for some odd reason, the debt really isn’t scaring me too much
12k is easy. I have 12k at 3.8% fixed. 450 a month and its paid in 2 years
Going to college was not the mistake, it was choosing film school and running up $100K in debt to that end.
A lot of majors are stuggling with demand right now outside of STEM, it’s because of different things either it’s highly competitive, job applications are now being reviewed by AI which honestly puts people at a disadvantage, but college within itself it was initially intended for the rich not the everyday laborers and because the demand has increased it has influenced the price in a ridiculous manner. The main problem I see with colleges is the credit system. To this day nobody can answer this question for me. If I’m an accounting major why did I HAVE to take an art history course? The deans just say “credits”. A lot of degrees also don’t require 4 years it only takes 4 years because of the dumb credit system. Realistically my accounting degree would take 2 years at most if it wasn’t for the nonsense classes I had to take that had nothing to do with my major but still obligated to pay for. So in that aspect many people could review it as a mistake.
Depends on how we look at it 🤷🏾♂️ never know when or what door it could open
Seriously. With all this talk about "is college worth it?" type videos that are very common these days, I don't hear many people bring up this aspect. The whole credits system and needing to take these unrelated "general education" classes (which is just a slight extension and mostly a regurgitation of things you already learned in high school) should be given more attention. It needs to change imo. People love to argue the classes are to make you "more well rounded" I call bs. Most are going to college to get a chance at a good job, they shouldn't have to do all these things that slow them down, but it's also just the colleges being greedy as usual. Forcing you to take gen ed classes is just a way to keep you in college longer and pay more money.@@Dontrolling
That is true. So many useless degrees and classes in the college curriculum
@@SiblingsVFX You robbed yourself
You’re cooked bro, if your parents aren’t gonna pay for your education then go to the cheapest college you can find. I went to a community college and flunked out but at least I didn’t waste any money.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I flunked my first college too 😂😂 shit was ass. Freshman year 2020 during Covid
Yeah i agree. If you dont come from money or have a scholarship + grants, go to the cheapest accredited school you can find. Heck my masters was $12k
The quality of education you get at university is very poor they charge you an arm and a leg for mediocrity you can learn yourself. Its a scam.
Yea but fuck it LOL. It’ll get paid off soon
What? Did you get a degree in film?? For a 100k... Thats terrible. Currently i know ill have to be paying back student loans in the future maybe 40k at most but im doing chemical engineering so ill be making it back. These type of degrees in the arts arent valuable. There is a part of me that wants to drop out but im already in too deep.
In lucky I got financial aid but it was my choice to go to community college then transferred to a cal state. I saved a lot of money and never took out loans. I lived at home and commuted over an hour to school.

Didn’t really sound like he was blaming his mom or saying anyone is at fault. He’s just sharing a piece of his experience and perspective on college
@@ariela_ "I didn't snitch on you, bro. I just told the police officers what you did."
@@sixtic …okayyy. Blaming someone is saying “it’s my moms fault for me being in this situation, I can’t take any accountability for my part in this” no need to get defensive I’m just saying from the video I watched it didn’t sound like that. He was just saying his experience which is like a lot of teenagers- it’s usually a heavy expectation by parents to go to college. If that sounds like blaming to you then cool I guess but I’m saying that as another viewer that is not what I got from the video. He mentioned his mom once to explain why he went to college as a backstory and everything else was just his experience on realizing what his true path was
@@sixtic He never blamed him mom, he explained the situation. Everything he said is factually true in terms of the pressure she applied and the ultimatum of "go be on your own or go to college" she gave him. Sometimes when you're wrong bro, the mature thing is to simply recognize the flaw instead of clinging onto it. No need to pretend to be right. Looks childish. Adults can admit fault.
I mean let’s be real, he was freshly 18 forced to go to college and failed, forced again at 19 and went for something that can’t help that much. But who pushed him to do that? If a PARENTAL FIGURE pushes a FRESHLY 18 YEAR OLD to do something or GET OUT OF THEIR HOUSE. They are gonna do it. Unless they were an unruly child growing up. So this was def on his mom. My mom gave me guidance on majors to choose when she made me go to college, I wanted to choose music and she directly told me not to. So I did music on my own while doing a business degree and it worked. If she told me “sure do music” I’d be fked rn

I think you should check on the website or call with financial aid or wherever you got the loans from. You might be paying on the loan interest then the actual principle
Similar thing happened to me smh… Look into consolidation with a low fixed interest rate. Some loans have a variable interest rate and the principal seems to never go down.
I only have 12k in debt and I keep telling people I’m paying it off before I graduate and people keep saying every semester “take out more loans” or “you can just pay it after”. I’m very grateful for it just being 12k but I’m tired of debt being normalized and the crazy part is the people that keep telling me these things I’ve literally watched debt burden their lives constantly.
