    Hi there, Thank you so much for creating and posting the TH-cam video of Eagle Aruba, formerly Tropicana. My family and I booked a trip and will be staying there in March. I am so grateful for the real time walk to the beach as that was what concerned me the most. I had surgery on my ankle in August and was nervous about the amount of walking we would be doing. I was wondering if you could give any input on which building and/or rooms were best in terms of views and proximity to lobby area. I notice there is a sunset tower and sunrise tower. I’m trying to ensure that our view isn’t one that overlooks a parking lot. Again, thanks so much for that helpful video! Looking forward to hearing back from you.

      I'm so happy you enjoyed the video and thanks for your kind comments. In answer to your questions, all views from the rooms at Eagle Aruba are towards the inside of the complex and the 2 pools. I do not believe there are any views the other direction. I believe the lobby is in the sunset tower and this is the side that would be closest to the beach, although the other side is only about maybe 50 yards further. Hope this helps and enjoy your time at Eagle Aruba. We love it there!

    Hi very helpful video I was wondering what about beach chairs and beach towels And is there any music or entertainment offered?

    • @jeffcarterlogistics9443
      @jeffcarterlogistics9443 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think they have towels but I can't remember. Guests of Eagle Aruba are given lounge chairs on Eagle Beach but if you want a cabana as well, you need to get there early, like by 6am. There is usually music in the common areas of Eagle Aruba by the restaurant, Tony's Pizza. Glad the video was helpful and thanks.

    I'm going there with friends & family in a couple of months. How are the rooms? Will 3 teenagers have fun at the resort? Does LaCabana allow Tropicana/Eagle guests to use their facilities? Thank you so much for posting! I have shared this video with our friends.

    • @jeffcarterlogistics9443
      @jeffcarterlogistics9443 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Darcy- About 50% of the rooms have been remodeled and 50% are not yet redone. The newer rooms have updated bathrooms with showers while the older rooms still have the Jacuzzi tubs. I didn't include the rooms in my video as you can google and find pretty good pictures of them online. Each room has a sleeper/sofa couch. Plenty to do for your teenagers at the 2 pools or workout rooms onsite. Easy to walk to the beach as well. We spent some time at the La Cabana bar area but I think you would need their wristbands if you wanted to use their pools or facilities. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

    Logistics dry van here. Patriot Star. 90 pads 13 decking bars 50 straps. ELD is old hat for the real professionals. It’s the brokers that need help explaining rates to shippers based in time increments. Send the candy my way. It might lead to some Swiss chocolates your way if you have any logistics freight. We move some 3win.

      Thanks for your comments "Glider Dave". Unfortunately, the candy offer was good only until April 30th and has been sent to the 2 winners. Thanks for your comments anyway and be safe out there!

    Thank you for the video and the email. We run dry vans only. As the ELD’s go we have been on Fleetmatics for 2 years and they are wonderful. This system lets us monitor everything at a click of a button. We do have issues with shippers and receivers holding up the trucks and making our drivers very upset due to eating up their time. This causes a mess for us, the drivers and the brokers. Hopefully now that it is on all trucks some of the people loading and unloading will have more awareness of this. Thank you again for the email and video.

  • @calsmith8960
    @calsmith8960 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    ELD's are the worst thing that has happened to this industry in decades. With the new Regen trucks on the road, shipper/receiver load and unload times, mandatory 30 min breaks, unforeseen down time as we all know happen on a daily basis, all of which eat away at our 11 hours driving time and 14 hour rule. When I'm doing shows, I have to be onsite for 2 to 4 hours sometimes just in the prep and loading process, which leaves me with a total drive time for that day of 7 hours, this is unsatisfactory in this type of business. Drivers having to try and make up this lost time, creates some of the most UNSAFE conditions I see on the highway today. Drivers who are being forced to make their deliveries ontime by their dispatches/companies who seem to think as long as the ELD says you have hours, its OK to drive despite taking into consideration the physical condition of the driver at that particular moment. ELD's DO NOT AND CANNOT determine the physical condition of a driver.

    ELDs take some time to get used to. However, it hasn’t affected our operations too severely.

  • @doug1343
    @doug1343 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only issue with ELD is that shippers and receivers holding trucks for hours on end with no regard to drivers clock. Example my truck Sat in a dock for 7 1/2 hours at a shipper in Kansas, Our appointment time was 5pm left at 1:30am.Had the same issue with the receiver 7 hours in a dock for no touch load.....

    As for the ELD's, our company thinks there's nothing wrong with them. We actually like the law that has enforced companies to have them. It makes the road safer. But there are still some flaws with them also, starting with shippers and receivers. If they don't get the drivers out in a reasonable amount of time, it affects their time, which affects their day, and ultimately affects the company as a whole for the money they lost out on. And when all of that happens brokers will pay detention. Which most of them try to get away with $35 an hour, after 3 hours. (If any, I've had 3 incidences this year already where I was guaranteed detention. After the load was delivered and I tried to get a ratecon to show the detention, the brokerage swore up and down I was lying, because the receiver wouldn't sign anything stating the time we were there.) But they don't understand, nor care, that $35 an hour does not equal compensation for that driver, or the company, to have to waste the time that they could've been on a new load. Now by no means was I referring to any company in particular in my comment here. I was just addressing some issues that I personally have seen just since the beginning of this month.

  • @janelleknaus1626
    @janelleknaus1626 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I will email you with lanes we run for sure! Always has been a pleasure working with D&L! As far as the ELD's go, we had them installed in all of our trucks by the Dec 18th, 2017 deadline. They have changed the industry as far as we are concerned immensely. We do a lot of multi-drops and it is very hard now with ELD's. Every second now matters and you are racing against the clock. I think it is much less safe as drivers are now always rushing rushing rushing to get to where they have to go. Truck stops, parking areas- full to the max because everyone is out of hours. Constantly rescheduling because a driver hit a traffic jam and ran out of hours, can't make their deliveries. The older drivers refuse to use them and we have lost a few really great drivers because of the mandate. It is most definitely something we are going to continue to work on and get used to because unfortunately I don't see them going anywhere! Hope all of this made sense, thank you!- Transportes Azteca International Inc.

      Vickie Hollis, absolutely! That's probably one of our biggest problems is the shippers and receivers! They dont understand that we are on the clock. They hold you up for hours and then expect the delivery to still make it on time. If they got on board and unloaded/loaded us in a respectable amount of time, we would be in much better shape!

    Thanks for the Video, We are based here in Arizona Run 12 ref. and 10 Van (Vans are just local AZ though) God to know you have freight out of Oh back west i'll keep that in mind. Feel free to reach out whenever Joe @ crossroads carriers 800-777-9830. The ELD's has been an eye opening experience for me as a small fleet owner/dispatcher Planning local loads has been extremely difficult when trying to maximize a drivers working day. It's forced us to increase our local rates though still competitive some customers where not happy with the increase but understood the reasoning. Best of luck i'll keep my eyes pealed for those emails. Joe
