Snap(ish) I went to the Orange in London in 91 & Carl on Saturday. I have no idea who I saw in 91 but as a kiwi boy just a week out of NZ, it was pretty amazing. Felt the same, friendly vibe at both venues.

Takes me back to finding the parties around the M25 London to watch Carl Cox play in some disused warehouse. Now in NZ my son driving me to the event in a 1991 Toyota with a Carl Cox 1991 tape playing I was right back there.

Watching this I have to wonder if we took our eye off the ball. Looking at the country today, we know the politicians all eat from the same trough and they must've known then that our generation were going to be in our late 40s and 50s and we wouldn't tolerate them then. Fast forward to now, if 5 of us gather together and just have a salient discussion about if mandatory vaccination is correct and the police have an existential fit. The last 30 years have been a slow march to authoritarianism. Sigh. What an upload though. Acid Rock - Rythm Device. Oh yes.

I still watch modern dance and techno events but they seem so sterile in comparison to late 80s early 90s clubs and raves , less movement on the dancefloor. Head nodding is fine but you want some nutters too.

Thank you mate that’s incredible. I was there most Sat nights in 1991. I couldn’t see me there but i recognised the bouncer! I had some of the best nights of my life in the brain. I’m 48 now so clubbing days well behind me but those days were amazing and definitely changed me for the better. I thought I remembered it so clearly but to see it on video with the luminous wacky wall design and all those classic 1991 tunes was mind blowing and brought it all right back. Thanks again mate.
