I was baptized decades ago for all the wrong reasons. I didn't do it to die to my sins. I did it to impress a woman I longed for. I find no irony in any of this at all. The road I used to go down years ago to chase my desires led right past this place. I was no believer then. I was the opposite of a believer. I cursed Christ for my life. I hated Him for my pain. After being crushed by my ways, no place left to go, I called to Christ for forgiveness. He alone led me. He freed me of my chains. He led me out of the darkness despite all my doubts. I shattered to pieces so many times in His grace, yet He rebuilt me every time. When I could finally stand, He asked me to forgive those who had caused me harm, as He had forgiven me. That was a very difficult road. Yet I stand here today, and I do not scorn them. I look mercifully on them. Yet, I hadn't had any notion of going to any kind of church. I had everything I needed in Christ. Days pasted. I began to see the world for what it truly was, and it was so desolate compared to His light. It was so isolated. I had been isolated for my entire life. I was used to it. Yet, as it set in. I was struck by an overwhelming sense of loneliness. I felt invisible to the world. No one cared to see my light. No one cared to see my word. I was conquered. A failure. Because Christ asked me to spread the Word of God, and no one would listen. I wrote a post, and I wasn't looking for any kind of answer. I just needed to express myself. A person commented and suggested I start going to church. That the Word of God was not meant to be carried alone. That's why Christ gave us a body of believers. I resisted the idea. I felt unworthy. Who was I to be among believers when I am evil? Who was I compared to those who had never cursed Him? But this person insisted. Many times. You're obviously lonely, go. So, I went and looked for churches. I knew what I was looking for. I just didn't believe it even existed. Yet, here I am. You're lonely? Here's some groups you can partake in to connect with others. You're doubtful? Here's service to renew your strength? I told you to spread the Word. Here's a discipleship that will guide you in My way. I baptized you in fire, but you are not yet baptized in water. Here is where your sins shall rest. And the absolute kicker to it all? You've seen this place on your way to sin so many, many times. I am with you.

Christ asked me to forgive those who harmed me. The sheer notion was very difficult for me to even conceive. So, I was reminded of how He looked at me as He washed away my scars. In that way, I forgave 2 of them. But the others. Grace did not seem sufficient. I struggled for a time with it. Then it was revealed to me. Those who harm God's children Shall have heaps of burning coals on their heads. OK. Do you remember what it was like just two months ago, as you were being crushed every second of every day? The pain that no word could describe? Yes. Would you have your enemy be where you have been? That, right there. I can't. I can't look at them and say "you deserve this." I think about it and it floods my eyes with tears because I know what that was like. I would not wish it upon anyone. So you will forgive them? Yes, Lord. Have mercy on them. For I know of Your ways. Do not forsake them, Lord. Save them, akin to me, when there's nowhere left for them to run.

Is the word of a man who dwells among the world greater than He who dwells within you?
