I don’t know why, but I like this game a lot. Little frustrating at times but it was fun.
Late Congratulations on finishing the Game! I think it is also quite nice how CodeParade has made the Engine for Hyperbolica, HyperEngine, open-source too.
I tried this one and just couldn't get into it. I'm glad you are giving it a shot, I can see if I missed anything worthwhile
Ok I must be misremembering the Oceanhorn battle from when I was younger because I swear it involved fighting the titular ship boss and after beating him once he starts raining down this stupid lightning electrical attack everywhere in the whole arena I could never dodge and its what stopped me from beating him. Weird. Well I'm happy to see my childhood avenged
The carrying the honey task reminds me of the similar horrible task of carry the nitroglycerin task in Castlevania 64, except in the latter you couldn't get hit or you'd explode
At the 20:42 mark when you were pushing the crate off the cliff, you had the right idea but you needed to push it off the wooden dock part, not the cliff itself, that way when it landed you could get behind it and push it further is my guess
I wonder how much, if any, this game was inspired by the general gameplay and sailing of Windwaker.
Finally will get to see how this ends.
I played one, made it to the titular boss, got my butt handed to me repeatedly and eventually gave up. One of my rare failures in gaming
Well good news, the oceanhorn 1 playthru is coming immediately after this series!
good end-review thoughts
1:20 it's because it's true!
15:20 I would not put it past the game for the spikes in that room to be the only ones :)
I would not have had the patience to endure this game, but I'm glad for the vods as it's been fun to watch
welp
I know Twitch is your main platform but I enjoy your youtube series even if they don't get a lot of views and I constantly look forward to checking out which games you're playing so I can see if its one of the new Metrodvanias I've played, those are the one I look forward to the most.
yeah, those watcher knights weren't pretty but I enjoyed watching
Haha i enjoyed your playthrough You are very talkative in you videos it makes it much more entertaining😊
46:21 I thought it was 5 to 7?
To the best of my knowledge (and double-checking on the wiki) the progression is 5 -> 9 -> 13 -> 17 -> 21, or +4 per upgrade.
@@TSHolden oh wow! I was completely misremembering; that does make the first upgrade huge
happy birthday!
I wish they would stop punishing people for playing. Get rid of the daily max cap. It’s awful
Either that or no more new syndicates. So sick of it after so many years of playing
gg!
I'm still not sure of the rules, but it looks like fun! Have you kept Roda Jogo going over the years?
Was it you guys that came up with Roda Jogo? I can't find a lot of information about it online. Either way, this looks like fun!
It was a fictional sport we invented for a college course. We needed to make a sports documentary and the professor was totally fine with it being a mockumentary.
I'd never heard of Roda Jogo before; thanks for explaining.
I had a lot of fun wandering around the tables and seeing how far I could go into the corners and then look back. I really liked a lot of the levels, but the Infinity Cafe was my favorite overall, and this was a great playthrough!
lol, the first time I got the crystal in the maze, I didn't realize I just had to go back to the exit and kept wandering around looking for something else to trigger!
I fell off so many times while trying to make it through that jumping puzzle...
That chest on the beach was a fun puzzle (#holonomy), and it took me a while to figure out how to take out the gophers!
I love Hyperbolica, and that snowball fight really kicked my butt! By the way, have you played any of Code Parade's other games like Marble Marcher and 4D Golf?
I have not yet, but I'm certain I'll be playing 4D Golf eventually!
1:00 hehe you already did this back in episode 1 :)
my forgetfulness strikes again! -_-
39:07 I agree; I think the developer executed pretty well given the 1-bit and textless constraints, but I would prefer even 2-bit grayscale art, and some basic text labels on items and menus
Helminth ability replacement only needs player to be rank 3 with the Entrati. The rank 5 requirement is for invigoration. But I agree with the general idea.
Ah, you're right, this is what I get for not double-checking myself against the wiki.
i played first descendant and quit after a week of playing. suddenly syndicate grind is much better than grinding for catalyst.🤡
MR 27 here, I’ve got max rank in 3 syndicates for this reason lol
I just farm narmer bounties couple times, the medal can be redeemed for 2k standing in cetus or fortuna.
I swear, the whole "I need to GOOOOOOGOO GRIIIND NEW STUFF" adhd morons need to chill the fuck out and learn to enjoy the elements of a game. And this game has more elements and components to keep you busy for months and months. But YOU chose not to acknowledge that there are 11 years of content already in place when you start. So WHY would you advocate for people to easier grind the fuck out of the newest content or any. What are the incentives of doing anything you suggest? What are the benefits? Why would you not let these road runner gamers to mellow at their own pace which is about the time a bomb lights up in their heads "Why the hell am I even paying WF like ANY other game? Why would I ever grind ANYTHING when I need EVERYTHING anyway? And I know ANY weapon and ANY frame can do the entirety of Regular AND Steel Path Starchart. I millions of credits as well as millions of Endo, and then I need hundreds, if not thousands of mods to invest the former into before anything else. When I have fraction of that but start feeling stronger. All of your issues and disappear due to accumulated knowledge on how to earn plat and get stuff in general. To be quite honest, it sounds like this; players want to get everything YW don't on YT asap, otherwise they whine and moan about being to fat behind. Your solution is to pander to NEW players who think this is a game no different from Diabloand if JackFrags do vids on getting the good new content they should be able to. Why isn't the first thing you advise them to pay at their own pace, clear SC and little by little the info overload turns into info archived. Hehh, I don't even. What. Ps. ALL syndicates have some token or another that you still can farm when your limit is reached. You need to level all Syndicates. Some you can stack tokens/ resource enough for R0-> R5 an hour or two into the game (and if you always are on the lookout to find the most fun equipment that suits YOU, you'll soon find this travelling all over doing this and that to be the best thing about the whole being new issue). Essentially making this whole video pointless. Sheesh "gamer" kids thewe days have little to no self checking or imagination. It's in 98/100 ppl ONE way to play ALL games, for ALL time. Essentially: Sprint to finish (avoid learning Anthony about the world or maps), compete with teammates (they care immensely who finishes 1st), daily YT checks what the BEST gear is (ignore everything else in the entire game until you got this gear). Can't follow easy video and get stuff in max a day; ask for rolling changes to the ENTIRE game because of MY own caveman approach that I haven't even considered might be rubbish? For me, for the game's design, for my teammates, for anything that is positive on all levels, in any way. Or could all game's and all gamers you meet while also all developers BENEFIT from you changing your gaming ways. Or, like all young people nowadays, are you afraid to even try changing Somerton and seeing what happens? Let yourself be surprised by testing stuff yourself, and not follow bait on streams. That is a sure way to degrade and diminish your intelligence. Never doubt any of the spel yourself. /Rant Off. Some valid points, a whole bunch of philosophies for the betterment of Gaming as a whole and tons of Boomer wisdom that no one cares about until they to have been gaming for 35 or of their 47 hearts on earth. It's all good tho. I I needed to vent for other reasons :) 🕹 (is this the Wico One joystick of old? I I have it tattooed. Hm maybe I misremembered the Tac-2 or Slikstik.(
Bro how did I randomly get recommended this banger
Idk, but have you ever played Hyperbolica yourself? It's awesome! I'd also highly recommend 4D Golf.
Wrong to you are a Warframe player you will understand that the grind you are complaining about is that you will get parts and resources you need. If you increase everything what's the point playing, just now you will ask DE to play for you
i had a conversation with a friend who ive helped get into warframe and complains to me the syndicate grind esp the old ones. he mentioned that it how cool would it be to have like a weekly rotating event for old syndicates to focus on where you can grind it for a week without the daily caps like for example in order to reach max rank a syndicate it requires 235k standing from rank 0. So instead of your daily standing cap for that week lets say 20k/day, you get 235k standing cap for that week on that particular syndicate. they can also make it dependent on how much standing you get based on your current rank while if youre maxed rank you get additional 132k cap but the idea is its only for this week and next week theres a new syndicate to focus on. i think a system like this would be helpful as a catch up mechanic as well as give incentive to those who have it ranked maxed already cause they still get a weekly bonus cap
This brings up another issue the daily caps, limiting the amount of time a player can spend playing is not a smart idea. Unless the game is suppose to be hyper casual
As someone who just returned this past December after 5 year break since Fortuna came out lets just say after 4-5 months I've finally maxed out Fortuna, Little Duck, Entrati, Loid, Cavia, and Holdfasts to max rank it was painful lol. I just have the Ventkids left
I just returned to the game after some time away and realized I hadn't reached max standing with any Syndicate. The only one that I was close to was a couple of the Relay Syndicates. But I had been stuck for years at the penultimate rank because it required a prime part that was horrible to farm for, and I would always burn out before I cracked a relic with it - and then when I returned to the game it would be a new prime part, and I'd have to start the grind all over again. Thank goodness they seem to have fixed that now. As for the open world syndicates, for some reason I never felt motivated to actually rank those up. Maybe this is just me, but I never realized there was more story to 'unlock' by increasing ranks. I didn't realize entire systems (Helminth) are locked behind ranks. And since the vendors are spread out, and the "rewards" hidden, I didn't really understand what was to be gained by ranking up. Now that I've finally decided to focus on it, I certainly wouldn't mind a slightly quicker path at this point. At the rate I do things it's probably going to take ages.
Theres a lot of mods and weapons and such that you will have to play through while upgrading syndicate anyway. If new players quit because the grind they are playing the wrong game lol
I honestly hate people who complain that their grind was so hard so new players should go through it aswell. Like foh do you want a bigger player base or what? Honestly they’re some of the worst when it comes to the OG community
As a "new player" the biggest hurdle for me with syndicates was figuring out what those resources are that they want to rank up. Then trying to find out why everyone was just "teleporting" around when doing the bounties, know now and got it.
The planetary syndicates are the friggin worst mechanically but a bit easier to grind out than the system syndicates that have 5 times the amount of unlockables comparatively.
If only Universal Medallion can be purchased or transfering excess standing depends on the related syndicates (like excess standing from traded toroids when Vox Solaris is like at 99% max can be transferred to (and choose between) Solaris United or Ventkids standing), I'll be happy if it's going to be implemented. Edit: as for the transferable excess standing I've mentioned, there's restriction still in play, like you can't transfer Entrati's excess standing to Cavia (or making the feature isn't available) until finishing Whispers quest
the helminth system is more of an endgame system, therefore having a long grind before you can access it is very much fair, it's also a resource sink and new players have to use thoses same resources to guess what.... lvl up their mastery rank, craft and build new weapons/warframes, so i think you're really wrong here. also syndicate grind is very much optional at the beginning of the game, you have a whole star chart to do and quests before you could take on syndicate grinding, + your mastery rank dictate how much you can grind syndicates so if you connect 2 and 2 together you'd see that the game wants you to grind thoses later on in your journey or simply along side your progression with the game overall to upgrade your standing cap.
There is no endgame, it's just continuous grind
Staight up, yeah. Spending over a week to a month grinding a single syndicate just to get one mod or arcane i want is a pain, especially with earning caps that pretty much limits you from making much progress after rank 3 in any of them. Even without levels, grinding for simaris is a total drag just so i can get one mod thats 75k is awful too. I think lower rank players or old content should get a drop increase as well for mods and such. You have any idea what it is to grind a spy mission over and over for a single drop thats less than 10%? Also im grinding orakin vaults for a specific mod thats been killing me to get as well. The only thing in warframe thats bad imo is the sheer grindfest it devolves into when you run out of story to make any progression into steel path
Awesome and informative video! Still learning alot about Warframe and want to dive in, just need to find the time to dedicate to it!
