most laptops components are on the top side of the laptop. this one is on the bottom plate, when i opened it i almost damage the cables. very odd design and very risky/ hard to service.

Thanks for the video, but I already went ahead and removed the old port and about to install a new one, but I noticed that I pulled up pads on the 3 center pins of the port. Do you know if these pins are used? And if they are, where I might be able to jumper them on the system board. Much appreciated if anybody can comment. thanks.

For mine, I get a blue flashing LED twice and pause when plugging power cord in and it shows 0 battery symbol. Charger LED is blue

Basically just a full hard reset by killing all power?

That resistor works as a fuse. (As happened here) So better to replace again with a zero ohm resist. Better if the ‘fuse’ blows than something more important when someone shorts the power on that connector.
