    I’m a true native of Miami Dade county. And I’m black American and refuse to learn Spanish unless I want to. I’m vey successful and always have been. This is still America 🇺🇸 I don’t care how many immigrants comes here to ruin the city. Now the traffic is heavy,the car and home insurance has gone up because of all the scammers filing false claims. Greedy rich out of state investors has came here to build cheaply made so called luxury apartments and driven the housing market triple of what it’s worth. Now things are crashing down and becoming affordable again (especially further down south) here in homestead, south Miami heights,goulds etc.. which are area that continues to build actual single family homes and has farming areas. Most of all are cleaner. Hopefully with a new president things will change for Miami Dade county for the better soon.

      I'm a Black American too, but not a Miami native. Spanish definitely isn't a necessity - I too know countless English-only speakers born and raised in Miami and they are doing just fine. The traffic and cost of living is getting out of control. Not sure how a new president will stymie that, but I hope you're right.

    Something tells me that a job where there's no barriers to entry, no license, no training required, is probably risky as hell. Having said that, it sounds like famoosing rich people business and can be a great shortcut to building a network with the Ultra High Net Worth

    • @mmersive
      @mmersive หลายเดือนก่อน

      The networking component is very real, but less so with the larger groups I work with. For example, it may be a travel manager within a large organization that I'm communicating with vs speaking with a wealthy family. For each charter I complete, I make sure that there's the necessary documentation in place to mitigate as much risk as possible.

    I only have 7 days in Columbia and I fly into Medellin. I am really debating on just staying the entire time in Medellin and not worrying about Cartagena at all. I have traveled a lot like Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, etc in central and I keep hearing that if I’ve been there then Cartagena is so much the same that Medellin is a different experience. Would you suggest I go to Cartagena at all? I don’t like the things I keep hearing about pestering and all the scams. I really just want to relax

    • @mmersive
      @mmersive 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cartagena was still a beautiful city, but I could see how it would be similar to a major Central American city. Honestly, the only way I could see your stay being relaxing is if you got a chartered boat to go to one of the islands off the coast - or maybe at a high-end hotel in the Boca Grande neighborhood. Otherwise, I think you'd have a much more relaxing time in Medellin. Even in busy, tourist heavy El Poblado, there were areas where you could find a quiet spot to enjoy people watching.

      A bit of everything really. LinkedIn, personal references, Google searches, networking events and trade shows, anywhere you think someone would need an aircraft. It's a very niche industry, so finding someone that needs/can afford a private jet is relatively difficult.

    I grew up (my teenage years) in Miami and moved to Denver a year ago and crazy enough I find that drivers here are more stupidly aggressive, though at least they pay more attention (less swerving). What I don't like about here is they tailgate you for no reason, you kinda have to drive fast here because if you just try to drive slow in the right lane EVEN if there is no traffic on the road they will still tailgate you, like wtf.

    • @mmersive
      @mmersive 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question - honestly, Miami is a very tropical climate with essentially zero elevation. So a typical summer rain event can lead to street ponding which usually drains after a day or so. However, over the past few years, there have been notable heavy rains that have caused major flooding. Areas in Miami Beach and Brickell flood roughly twice a year and last year the FLL airport had to close due a serious rainstorm! Given climate change, I'd imagine these heavy rain events will be more frequent. Something to keep in mind though - all of these flood events have taken place EAST of I-95. Areas to the west have better infrastructure and slightly more elevation to deal with the rainfall.
