    poor placement of the ladder truck. They could have used 2 effectively vs ground ladders on a what is probably a 150-200 year old building. Balloon construction etc

    What did you do with 3/4” gap along the back of the cabinets?

      The wooden cleats do create that gap between the back of the cabinet and the wall but it is very small.

    I'm researching a section hike from Pine Grove Furnace nobo 20 miles or so. Have connected sections from Harpers Ferry to Pine Grove. This doesn't appear as rocky as I thought, but maybe good editing?

      It’s not very rocky. Apparently, from what we have been told, the bad rocks start at Duncannon as you go north.

    Volunteers did great hustling you might’ve parked at bucket up on the sidewalk so you could reach it. What are you doing with two water cans with that much smoke showing I did up watching it I know it’s gonna be a parking lot.

As an aside, I actually met you the day I hiked up to McAfee. I was coming back down as you were heading up. It’s a small world some times.

    We went there last week. We asked three different employees where the famous stone arch and sign was. They gave us three different directions and we never found it. They were useless

      At the :37 second mark of the video is a parking lot and a building on the right. The arch is just behind the building. It is the visitor center.

    Early in my career, I lived there for a couple of years in the mid 90's working at a nearby hospital. I loved living there every single day! I can still recall the vibe and feel of the little, sleepy town.

      Just curious, when you lived there did you ever visit the nearby drag strip raceway? We also road by it on our way to the trail head. It was neat to stumble across it.

    That caboose is actually not in the original spot that it was in when they first brought it to Pecos, it actually sat out in the middle of the road with a barricade around it. And you used to be able to go inside of it but vandals took care of that for everyone!

      We enjoy our short stay in the cabin and would stay there again. I am also curious about staying in the lodge which is just a short distance further up the road.

    Interesting. I could see the decomposing fish providing a lot of nutrients to the plant, but all the salt that was used to can it might impede plant growth. Looking forward to an update!

      Paw Paw is in West Virginia. There is an old tunnel that you can walk through. It used to be part of the C&O Canal. I believe if you walk through it you end up in Maryland.

    This hike looks amazing! I'm thinking about doing this the next free nice weekend day I have! I think I'd need to coordinate to have someone pick me up at Reid's Gap. How much time would you allow for to complete the hike at a relaxed pace?

      We are slow hikers and average 2 miles per hour. This section has several miles of very rocky terrain. I recall people who passed us in the opposite direction telling us to be careful because they had slipped on the wet rocks. We didn’t slip but it caused us to be extra cautious. It was rough on our feet. I would plan on 4 or 5 hours.
