มุมมอง 10K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Lethwei Karen State Day January 2007 Two special challenge matches with second chance rules in place from the Karen State State Day tournament in 2007. The first ends in a bit of confusion with Moe Pae Lae winning the match. The second despite bad camerawork is short and to the point. Five round Special Challenge Moe Pae Lae (Migathi) vs. Zaw Win Tun (Thaton) (1996 Golden Belt Champion) Four Ro...
Classic Lethwei - Saw Nga Man vs. Eh Htee Kaw
มุมมอง 60K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Advancing Elephant, Relentless Shark Eh Htee Kaw vs. Saw Nga Man An early Saw Nga Man fight when he was a rising star and Eh Htee Kaw was already a Golden Belt Championship. The ending due to bad camerawork is sort of incomplete but nonetheless it is a record of an important fight between two well-known Lethwei fighters. Saw much later would capture the 2009 Golden Belt Championship from Lone C...

Lethwei - Money to the Fighter
มุมมอง 2424 ปีที่แล้ว
A unique aspect of Lethwei is that audience members can send money to the fighter of their choice during the rest periods as a form of encouragement and moral support. The jury receives the money and it is passed to the referee. An announcement acknowledges the person who sent the money to the favored fighter. The referee then touches the money on top of the fighters head as a form of good luck...

Lethwei - Saw Thae Myo vs. Alberto Ramirez (2001)
มุมมอง 3.2K4 ปีที่แล้ว
A horrible event promoted by the Burmese military junta in an effort to show Myanmar might was a sham of unprepared fighters going into the lions den. It was only three bouts. We tried to do a proper tournament in 2002 with well prepared foreigners only to have the military shut it down the last minute. This was an explanation from the IKF kickboxing side but it doesn't explain what was really ...

i think it is lethwei in Battlefield version.my grandfather told me about that when i was young.like closely to 'pwelkyaung' or 'bando' lethwei style.didnt understand what it is..before british colonial time, some places in burma, ground fighting was used in lethwei.

Thanks for your insights. I will talk extensively on this in my forthcoming book Lethwei: Sport of Warriors. There was an older variation of Lethwei as well as Naban, they sort of crisscrossed and Lethwei became more prominent than Naban.

Hello i am here again :-) Please watch this th-cam.com/video/KHI_z7ZgUpM/w-d-xo.html The Yi people from south of china .They are Tibetan Burmese group and family of us.we are related to each other. You can find reasearch paper about Tibeto burman language group. You will see at 0:13 ,two Yi men are wrestling like we see like two burmese guys. In my opinion, some martial arts descend from proto tibetant burman people who lived in today China near Yantze river. And then they migrate to today Burma/Myamar with their martial arts. Lethwei maybe appeared after the building their kingdom. I think our Tibetant burmese tribe's history wil be very helpful for your book.
