this is my attempt to cut turquoise from Ocean Dreams mine, located near Mina, this turquoise came in tight bound breecia chert nodules and a few nuggets. The material sliced nicely, showing great stability. The porcelain consistency shows promise to provide a good quality polish from the palest, all the way to the deepest most beautiful colors. Mined in 2012 and 2020, this material isn't very ...
Finally got my work area up to specifications.

Michael cuts New Lander into slabs. On display, proper procedure for professional lapidary results. total work time is actually over an hour, but it's condensed for easier viewing. This is a superb specimen, and the results justify the gamble in putting such a fine piece to the saw. Stay tuned for upcoming cabochon cutting and silver smithing episodes for this soon to be parcel of gems.
Watch me get wrecked. Sometimes during the grind, unprepared parties can find themselves in a bind.

Let's play Final Fantasy Tactics: War of The Lions. Rare samurai battle. Starting in chapter three, in the Yugewood occasionally these guys will pop up.
I love variscite.
Thanks
I keep hearing different views about stabalized turquoise. Is stabalized turqoise valuable? Is it worth purchasing stabalized kingman turquoise??
Stabilized turquoise is the industry standard. Kingman turquoise has increased in demand over the years. It is attractive and wears well. As a jeweller, I want to stress the value in the work is in fashionable enjoyment. I love turquoise in all its forms and as long as the material is disclosed, it is perfectly wonderful gem material. Buy something for the right reason, because you like it. Honesty, quality ,and craftsmanship are all considerations to make when selecting turquoise. Thanks for witching.
Mi santito milagroso. En cd Juárez el es el number one.
Feliz día San Lorenzo.
this is a very fine interpretation with definition
Thanks, I appreciate it very much.
Sweet great information about the cheap solder please share more
Cheap solder is usually something lead based, made for electronic applications rather than structural, or otherwise not deemed fit for jewellery use. The solder can act as an acid and absorb silver into solution instead of having enough heat to directly melt it.
Great videos my man
Thanks man. Just found analysis app so I can interact with my channel.
Very cool! And thanks. I learned some things so thanks. I have a very small cuff and I noticed that it has a slight split in it. It’s sterling. When I was stamping on it, I hit a bit too hard on my liner and it now has a split happening. It’s nice t a big deal to anyone but me but it was my fit sterling cuff. I wanted to see what, if anything I could do to fix it. I think I may attempt it similar to what you did, making a patch, right? Mine has no stamps, just stamping. Thanks again.
This is many years later, hopefully I can see how it turned out.
Great video Michael.

Wretched.
where is the next video? Love this one! Thanks for posting
Are you using sterling for your bezels? Or fine silver? What gauge? (I can't imagine me being able to do that while keeping the bezels intact... I'd probably melt them all!)
I am using 32 gauge fine silver bezel on 34 gauge sterling sheet. The bezels are closed with 75% hard solder and attached to the sheet with 65% easy flow solder. This is an exercise in manufacturing bezel cups in an expedient and economical fashion. The benefits are three fold : learning to gradually bake the silver to the flow point without warping the metal creates a setting with very little fire scale to remove, close clustering of bezels expends a minimum of sheet metal and solder. It promotes clean soldering habits, the bezels are pre-fluxed and dried so the joinery has almost zero flash or splatter. And third, only one cutting step is involved when separating the settings. It is a quick method, as it took a half hour to solder and cut, including camera work. Please watch the next video to see what happens in the next step.
