I got all my yarn pulled out but do you mind explaining, or showing, how I attach the new yarn to the piece in the very beginning before you start crocheting the new chain in?
This is GREAT. And so far, your $0 checkout is interesting and appreciated.
I'm glad you found it helpful!
Excellent video! Your explanation of the increases is so easy to understand! Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Thank you from Minnesota!
You're welcome! Hope those slippers keep your feet warm through the Minnesota winter.
Vous tricotez sur quelle machine
Bonjour c’est ravissant mais je ne pourrai malheureusement pas faire ce magnifique arc-en-ciel car j’ai une machine singer memo 2 merci pour ce partage à bientôt
Thank you so much for sharing this method ❤
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the thorough video. My slip stitch corner is still looking a little wonky. Am I right in understanding that half the rounds end with slip stitch just after corners, but because of the turn, the alternate rounds slip stitch is at the end of the straight? I'm probably not explaining that very well! 🤪
Lovely and thank you for sharing.
You're welcome! It's a fun one to make.
I love this way of casting on and the pattern. Thank you
Glad you like it!
Lovely ❤ thankyou
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Is there a pattern for knitting this?? I love it!!!!
Yes ! The companion pattern is available by following this link: twistedyarns.com/patterns/knotted-shawl-scarf/
@ I purchased the pattern on your website this morning. I don't use a machine, just knitting needles. I have not received the pattern yet. Will you email it to me?
@@MountainMama1970 I revised the pattern for hand knitting. Let me know if you need further clarification. It is best to contact me via email for this purpose at mary@twistedyarns.com
Love it! I knew oldtimers had to have a way making their hats etc.
Thank you so much. It was really hard to find a video like yours. Mine didn't come apart anything like yours, but it probably was because i had DC's. So i had to fuss with it all the way through. But I could eventually figure it out. I didn't want to take my project apart because I had already changed colors. This video was a life saver & time saver.
Glad you were able to glean the essence of this!
Thanks so much! You explained it so well unlike other videos I watched.
Glad it was helpful!
I was recommended this stitch in a crochet group for a blanket I am making. This look so fun! Thank you for the tutorial!
You're welcome! I hope you enjoy making your blanket.
What kind hook and yarn
Worsted weight yarn and an H hook.
Let me rephrase that... H hook 4.0 or 4.5 mm and worsted weight for the blanket. H hook and 4 ply cotton for the sample.
this is beautiful!!❤️❤️thank you so much!!
Glad you liked it. I just love mine and use them all the time. Thanks for watching!
Your videos are EXCELLENT!!!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy them. Please share my channel with your crochet buddies.
Hi. I noticed in one of the comments that you replied about providing a video of the hat making using a standard gauge machine. Have you done one, as I would find it extremely helpful. I am a complete beginner.
Thanks for letting me know your interests.I haven't done one yet but it's on the schedule. I'll move it up and let you know when it is available!
Beautiful and genius! I am going to try this out right away! Thanks!
Have fun with it!
@ it worked great but I really loved the picot hem version too (even with the scrap yarn. It was nice not to have to keep changing the tension hahaha) I am going to try the regular hem with scrap just to have the full range, seeing as I am a beginner 🙂
@@lynnemarie7885 It's really a good idea to keep these swatches organized too...for future reference.
Were can y shop the picec thanks for switzerland❤
No need to give beginner lessons on every video, if they don’t know how to crochet teach that from a different video
Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to keep those basic stitches in mind when making future videos.
Thanks!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
I love this pattern! It's a real standout among the bowl cozy patterns that are out there online. The different sizes in the pattern and all the tips are very helpful. I made a few just to test out my skills and then made a bunch for Christmas gifts (they were very well received). I added loops of chain stitches in the corners and then sc over the loops for sturdy hand holds. It's a keeper!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the pattern! I'm so happy the bowl cozies were well received as Christmas gifts.
Thank you for these instructions. You are wonderful!
You're welcome! It's a fun edging to use.
Love it... Thank you...
You're welcome! It's one of my favorites too!
Nice tutorial, but it would have been much easier to follow if the camera had been zoomed in more.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to zoom in more for future tutorials.
Thank you!! Very helpful tutorial!! 😊
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Very clear instructions. Thanks!
You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful.
How much yarn do you use?
It was about 3 Oz or each color. I'm away from my computer so I can't pull up the pattern right now.
@ oh thanks!!
Hello do you know how to fix loose wide sides on a tank top?
I would need to see the top to provide feedback. If you want to send a picture via email my email is mary@twistedyarns.com.
In your written pattern you said multiple of 19+19, but in your video said multiple of 19+18 which one is ok
19 plus 19. I later discovered this error. And updated the pattern.
I used a magic ring and it worked well. Thank you …. I will use this often ❤
Sorry to fast sending me dizzy at corners
Sorry to hear that. Would it help to record a slowed version with extra attention to the corners?
Does this work the same way in the round? Thank you for this video!! 😊
That depends on how you define "in the round". It works if the base row is a foundation of chains and then slip stitched together to form a large ring such as to form the circumference of a sweater or sleeve, cowl etc. If you are starting with a ring to work a motif like a granny square, this will not work.
Great tutorial. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
So hard to understand
Circles can be complex. I'm interested in knowing what was difficult to understand? Did you have a particular question? Let me know! Thanks.
Way too hard to follow.
What did you find confusing?
What a beautiful hat! I am thinking about learning machine knitting. Your creations really inspire me. Thanks!
I hope you convert over to machine knitting! Let me know if you do and perhaps I can guide you in your adventure!
Love this! How many stitches need to be in foundation / sides for the mushroom border to match up with the base piece?
This is a multiple of 6 plus 1. It is covered in the video along with other pointers to turn the corners. I appears at about 1 minute and 45 seconds on this video also.
Lovely! What's the math on the foundation row or number of stitches for the base piece so that the mushrooms line up?
That foundation should be a multiple of 6 plus 1. That info is covered at about 1minute and 45 seconds in the video under foundtation pointers.
I’m so confused about you saying for row 3 just do a single all the way around but for row 4 put 2 over the stitch marker. Because we also put two single right before row 3. So are you saying put 2 single crochet over the gussel in row 4? (I’m on first row of blue)
One marker is at the beginning of the row and one under the gusset. On row 3, by working 1 sc in each stitch there are no increases. But on Row 4, you are placing an increase over the marker that is a few rows below. This is where the gusset will be developed as you proceed on.
@TwistedYarns but is it on both markers or just the one from start
So, we only have to 'turn' the first two rounds?
You need to turn every round.
Is there a way to create something similar at the end of the knitted piece?
I'm working on figuring that out and will have another video soon!
I need this for those babies 😊! Thank you
Plus, they are so much fun to make!
@TwistedYarns easy peasy and adorable 😍
Hello, what size is the socket screwdriver you use to remove the needle beds? Thx, Paolo
I believe it is a 5.5mm box spanner. A box spanner is different from a socket. It is narrow all the way down to the end and fits thru certain parts of the Passap to reach the nuts. You can get this tool from Michael Becker at Distinctive Knits. You may also be interested in his book "Be Your Own Passap Paramedic" It is excellent. Also if you are working on a Passap Pinkie or DM-80 (green), the tool may be a slightly different size but the principle is the same.
Thanks! I don't know why such useful videos haven't shown up before when I searched for info on my new old bulky knitter!
I'm glad you found it helpful! I love to share my techniques and patterns for the benefit of others.
What size hook…that so pretty
H hook for worsted weight or 4 ply cotton
