Silvertone Violin Bass from the 1960s
Very Nice Vintage 1960s Silvertone Violin Bass. The hollowbody Violin body shape mixed with the flatwound strings and mute at the bridge, give this bass a unique sound.Very much a 60s sound and vibe. This bass is in very good condition with the original case too. Video demos many aspects of this bass. All 3 PU toggle positions and tone variations - pizz without bridge cover foam mute then with a pick finally with the bridge foam mute on guitar with pick and pizz. Enjoy!

Very cool Pedal steel that has easy access for adjustment of tunings - You can change all the strings with a single pedal - or any combo - all from the top of the unit. Pretty basic steel but sounds good and a bit of a cult item! Very fun to play!

Nice! I'll take it 🙂
This is a winner!
I´m missing such kind of music here! Thanks for presentation.
Hello Out East, seems that we have the same passion: old guitars. Think that the Galaxie was made by EKO for Hopf. Here´s another rare treasure: th-cam.com/video/y9SfOyjL6Sw/w-d-xo.html
Yes and oncemor yes! The old Hofners a damned good players: th-cam.com/video/SW_cXxub7Ks/w-d-xo.html
A really good looking instrument with nice details and good sound. Body and neckplate reminds me a little bit of the EKO Violin Bass.
Nice vintage bass and cool bass progressions. Have a Musima Action Bass which rivals any Fender Jazz Bass with ease.
I had that idea too about one pickup sliding into different positions. Great!
I don't think it sounds great in isolation, but a lot of recordings break down into components that don't actually sound all that good on their own, and a whole lot can be fixed in the signal chain. So I guess the big question is, how does it _feel?_ The right hand looks as tight as many five strings. And it seems to play well enough in tune, which I had doubts about on first visual inspection because there doesn't seem to be any means of adjusting the intonation.
There is a reason this bass has Cult status in Germany. It's from the 60s beat era and was made well using very good pickups and tuners. It's not at all like a modern bass - that is what makes it what it is. A relic from the 60s and it sounds like it.
I would love to try it ! Looks like a good one.
Very thin neck
the neck is thin in width but deep - A thick chunky neck, it even has a nice volute at the headstock. Easy to play and has the feel of a unique vintage handmade instrument. Very cool bass indeed! Looks nice too.
Hi, I have a Hopf guitar which is in "reparation". An electro-acoustic from 64/65. Do you have informations about this kind of guitar?
Does the neck have any taper or is it just square? Also first
yes a slight taper but is thick as there is no truss rod. but is comfy to play
I have 3 Guitar s from Tylski, highly recommend.

Welcome to TH-cam...
Wonderful axe! Where do you find these? Is there a spec description somewhere available (is it for sale)? Great demo!
Yes this is for sale get in touch through outeastmusic
Where is it listed? And where is it located?
Robert Smith brought me here.
The only delay is an EP2 or an EP4.
flamma FS03 delay on this video - no tape delay. Flamma is a good sounding digital delay. i do like an echoplex but they are a studio beast - too finicky for stage use.
I have one from I think 1965 or 66. It's the hottest, most gainy guitar I own. Mike Guthrie graciously got it into my hands for 225$, no case. The only tricky thing is the tight string spacing, same at the nut as at the bridge. However, these things absolutely howl and are feedback monsters with an old fawn original Ac 15 or 30.
Is this a shortscale, or are you just a very large man?
shortscale
Sounds and look great! What amp are you using?
Amp is an old Fender Vibralux w Vintage 30 Celestion 12" speaker. Harmony Mercury Stratotone guitars are magic and truly an inspiration machine. I'm using a Tube screamer for Distortion and Flama pedal for delay.
One of the best guitars ever made ..
fully out of tune;)with a good tone
Beautiful. I want it.
*promosm*
Beautiful sound! Thank you mate
Had one as my first bass amp in the 70's, sold it and bought one again last year to use as a guitar amp. all PTP handwired inside, and the cleans are great, but it gets crunchy fast! Love it!
Very nice one! Check out our new reborn Hopf Saturn 23: th-cam.com/video/jfQ4rqrZHxA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=i2CW-YepAcNnUQ5v
Fender just released a physical copy of this guitar but called it the Sonic Mustang. In reality it should have been called the "Duosonic".
Those Mustangs are 24 inch scale wired in parallel, but these 1950s Duo-Sonics are 22.5 inch scale wired in series. Very different sound.
beautiful instrument and gorgeous tone .
Those pickups look like Ric hi gains
Those are Bill Lawrence PUs made for Fender
Hollow body's sound best
cool looking bass; sounds good
I have the same one, right handed version. Gorgeous guitars
So cool, I also have a '67 Coronado. In three-tone sunburst.
Sounds like it could be great with worn flats! These strings sounds too new and bright.
Flats would be nice too - having said that these are new round wound strings and yes broken in ones do sound much mellower but I make these videos with the tone pots wide open usually new strings too - so tuning the tone knobs to get a mellower tone = sweet bass bliss! And this bass has that tone in spades. Very nice vintage instrument.
Sounds great!
Hey man just discovered your channel thanks to TH-cam random recommandations. Awesome gear can't wait to hear more
