Went to a tea party where the girl scouts were the hosts & everyone was asked to bring their own favorite tea pot &why it was their favorite. Such wonderful stories it encouraged the scouts to do public speaking it was a blessing to watch.

I thought I was the only person who is obsessed with pretty pitchers. I have a wide 6" Laura Ashley pitcher next to my sink. It hides the dishwashing gloves and stores scrubbers.

Ohhh I love to use beautiful platters! I use them usually for the main course, but also for a nice variety of fruits or vegetables with dip, too. I have gotten past the fear of using my more expensive platters because life is short and once I'm dead and gone, I won't be able to enjoy them. LOL Thanks for sharing your beautiful platters with us, Sandy!

My favorite china is still the pattern I bought for everyday when we got married. I have Christmas china, but I usually use my good china at Christmas, I just love it. I buy plates in thrift stores if I see something I like, just to have a change. Love tea sets also!

Great ideas! Just in time for Valentine's Day, too! Thanks Sandy, Abbey, and Sara (hope I spelled the names right!)!

When our children were young, my precious father-in-law and mother-in-law (Keith and Sara) would have the whole family of probably about twenty to thirty people over on Christmas night for dinner and celebration. After dinner, we would all gather in the family room and Sara would disappear into a bedroom with all of the grandkids and close the door. A short time later, the door would open and all of the grandkids would come out in costumes of shepherds, Mary and Joseph and usually a new baby in the family as baby Jesus. There was also a surprise entry of a baby goat that my brother-in-law and his wife raised. They proceeded to enact the story as was being read from the Bible by Sara. It was wonderful! After that, Sara would bring out a birthday cake and we would all sing happy birthday to Jesus. Sadly, dear Sara passed away several years ago and family moved to all different states and we no longer get to see each other, but we still have the wonderful memories of that tradition. (TL)

Thank you for sharing these wonderful traditions with us. I have a favorite tradition that was passed on to me by my grandmother. Each Christmas, she would make a beautiful Red Velvet Cake. That cake, along with her Queen Anne chocolate covered cordial cherries, will always be a sweet (no pun intended) memory to me! To this day, I make a Red Velvet Cake and purchase those chocolate cordial cherries each Christmas!
