This song is meant to serve as a representation of existential dread, as well as a sense of wonder and bewilderment of the reality surrounding us. The man in the video casts a shadow around his body never revealing his face for he has lost it. He once was a man living in our present world before the fabric of space and time collapsed and he saw the true reality of our universe. He saw nothing b...

Remember, we have cured dementia in rats like six or seven times at least. And yet in humans zero times. This is due to our lack of willingness to give humans brain damage and then study ways of curing them with complete disregard for their health and safety. Probably a good thing, but it would be great if we had a way of getting the benefits of human experimentation without the uhm... war crimes and atrocities associated with that.

Nope. Not a good thing. Purely making more people suffer and hiding the selfish reality of the situation behind virtual signaling. We could, also study people that already have it but that'd go against the profts of the drug companies and nursing homes that make a fuckton of money off f this suffering. Remember, there's no money in curing something, but there's a LOT of money in prolonging or masking or ignoring it and telling the family memebers that it has to be this way.

I absolutely love this. There’s another piece of music that involves disintegration over a period of time. It’s also very good. “The Dissintigration Loops”, by William Basinski. Also a haunting masterpiece I must say.

This is the only video on my channel thus far exploring long form content and existential subjects such as dementia. Most of my other content is just me playing games. That’s all fun for me to do and I enjoy making that content, but I fully intend on making more videos like this. Especially recently since my uncle is near death at this point and my grandfather who is now living in our house with me and my father, has just recently been diagnosed with dementia. I plan on making a follow up video to this one. Not just discussing this album (which I will still discuss in greater detail in this follow up video) but other caretaker albums as well. The video will not just solely be a caretaker deep dive either, but it will also be a look into how dementia has effected my family’s life, the correlation between adhd and dementia, and the symptoms I have seen personally as a result of living with a dementia patient. I intend on the video being 2-4 hours long discussing every minute detail of this disease. I might also make a follow up video to that video making a familiar album to EATEOT in the form of my piano playing (the instrument I am attending college for) and the effects that me receiving dementia in the future would have on it. As a small disclaimer, I am not a psychologist nor an expert in the field. I will try to do enough research and knowledge from articles, stories, and personal experience to justify covering the topic. Thank you for the support everyone

It is commendable that even with such personal connection to this music and disease you still endeavour to really allow every single view to understand what this is like. The effort is insane! thank you :)

I've been thinking of this video quite a bit recently. My uncle passed away recently and my grandfather was recently diagnosed with dementia. I have thought of making a follow up video and in this follow up video I will discuss these tracks and other caretaker projects. This disease is becoming more apparently common within my family and with the links between ADHD and dementia it scares me to think that this may one day be my fate.. I will voice my concerns in the future though

Stage 4 genuinely scared me when I heard it after being made aware what it represents. It does a scary good job of confusing you while also just flat out scaring you. I felt like an infant being surrounded with unfamiliar and unsettling noises, incapable of making sense of what I was hearing. Live life while you still can and be kind to everyone.

I am sorry to hear that. I can sit on my high chair and say that I have a rudimentary understanding of dementia and its effects on people, but unless if I get it when I grow older I will never truly understand what it is like. However, if my advice means anything to you, go be with the people you love. Enjoy the memories while they are still there. You may lose them someday, but hold on to the ones you have and love the people you know. Stay strong my friend

I personally believe the last 5 minutes isn't a funeral but rather something like terminal lucidity or the moments right before death as the angels sing and you are lifted to heaven presumably? I think the last minute of silence is the death of the patient.

The moments of clarity i stage 5 are so impactful and even more so when they are ripped away. It makes it clear just how frustrating and horrific the disease is. You have no control at all.

I have to say, the footage at 5:45 was nostalgic and so calming. It reminded me of those fibreglass christmas trees that change colour which were all the rage in the late 90's when I was about 4 or 5

I’ve listened in full this album. From start to end. It is so depressing. I might as well as give you my experience. Stage 1 I liked staged 1, it wasn’t that bad compared to the rest. Stage 1 for me felt off. It is was strange, A3 especially. The music was bearable and even good, just strange. The crackling of the music seems normal, just some recording problems. With the context its so much worst. Its your memories being “faded”. You can remember it, just some details are gone. The stage cover seems so familiar, but I put my finger on it. It just seems like a piece of paper, but its slightly off. Stage 2 This stage for me felt like you are starting to know what’s happening to you. You start to realize that something is off, and it’s something serious. There is more white noise here. The crackling is much more common and louder. To me, the cover arts flowers look like there withering. The two sides of the vase look like people, a man on the left and a woman on the right. Stage 3 This stage showed me what I’m really getting into. The music has gotten destroyed. You can still remember, just details big and small are gone. Names are forgotten, people are forgotten, your parents are forgotten, your children are forgotten, your partner is forgotten. The cover art just reminds me of an overgrown plant. Vines destroying your head. Stage 4 I felt scared. I felt alone. I dont know how to describe. Memories mishmashing. Intersecting and bisecting. The world is gone, only white noise remains. The sirens. Oh god the sirens. The hell sirens. They struck fear into you. I can’t describe it. At some points, the white noise stops and some actual music comes out. Its so disturbing, yet you pray they come. The cover art looks like a person contemplating there life, or lack there of. Its just her, going through white noise. Stage 5 The music, its all so broken. Every memory is shattered, torn, raptured. You can think, just what you can think is complete nonsense. The album cover looks like a girl dancing, with her holding her dress. But she’s so distraught, there is only but faint memory of her. Stage 6 Nothing. This is nothing. You are nothing but a husk. You cant do anything. You exist, but cant think. The crackling of the vinyl record and echos of wind fills the air. The album cover is so f/cking terrifying. Its a canvas. An empty canvas. There is nothing left. But has it ever had something to begin with? You forgot how to forget. The ending. The ending was so depressing. Terminal lucidity, where you gain lucidity for the last time. You have all your memories back, but the end is coming, soon. It was like a choir of angels. Lifting you up to the heavens. The last minute… the last minute. It was nothing. No wind, no crackling, just nothing. You’ve died. There is nothing left. Your gone from this world, your pain has ended. I can’t describe what this album did to me. It changed me, it broke me. I felt… broken… after listening to this. I think I can relate to my grandmother a little more now. Im so sorry for your uncle, I think after listening to this album, I get it. Treasure everything. Every moment, everyone, everything. I hope your uncle is doing well, i hope his life will remain peaceful.
