Welcome! We're married artists eager to share our love of nature as we learn new skills in the pursuit of self-sufficiency and possible homesteading. Pete's stoic purpose is to make the world a little better for Tiffany and her wheelchair gardening. The joy we are getting from combining our skills is indescribable. The one when Pete gets thorny
Papa built us a pergola, but through a combination of neglect and the Florida rain, it came down and took most of a large thorny plant with it. Everything is temporary, most things more so than we'd wish. Now Pete uses his old man yoga to remove this thorny monstrosity in the next step in restoring our land.
Thorny monstrosity is a bougainvillea. Nothing will ever kill her, she will live forever. Her thorns told me so.

Tiffy watched Kevin and Jacques in an Epic Gardening video on planting mushrooms outside, ordered North Spore mushroom spawn from the Epic Gardening website. She wants to grow wine capped mushrooms and needs Pete to build a small retaining wall. He used reclaimed wood from the pergola they lost in the hurricane and cleans up the stone path Papa put in. Tiffy's toes are froze. Pete uses his recent birthday and Christmas presents, the hatchet, and ferro rod (sparky sparky stick) to make a fire. The logs were green hardwood, so he cut kindling reclaimed from the old pergola Tiffy's dad built. The cotton ball was soaked in paraffin, but it was the dryer lint that did the trick. This door has brought the two of us so much joy over the years we decided to put one in our house! I have always loved the eclectic style of Rachel and Monica’s apartment. This is part one of the transformation. There will be another wall, a different color, and the kitchen. I’m so excited!! Yay!! 45 minutes of stacking wood shown in four minutes. I'm more concerned with airflow to dry out the wood than I am stability. The joy of labor was enhanced knowing my crow friends were there to keep me company. Florida sun, do your magic.

The back story: We had to dismantle our pergola after the last hurricane, but we didn't want all the cedar wood to go to waste. Here, Pete goes through the debris, removing nails, relocating planks, and building a flower bed. Every box is improving our garden. This is the beginning of my second year of Florida wheelchair gardening.
