7th Gen (2016-2019) VW Passat 1.8 Turbo Camshaft Sensor Replacement
Car was running rough and making engine noises. Eventually check engine light came on. Code was P0341 Camshaft Position Sensor. In theory I should have first checked the wiring to ensure that wasn't the issue, but I just opted to replace the sensor instead.

Trick is to use a Torx TX 30 bit (not socket as there isn't any room for a socket) with a 1/4 " open ended wrench. Once you crack the bolt lose, you need to remove it by hand as there isn't much room to unscrew it all the way out with the bit. Also, a good idea to have a magnet nearby just in case you drop the bolt and lose it.
Note: During the video you will notice the oil service indicator is on. Turns out you shouldn't wait for this to change your oil. The dip stick didn't even register any oil when I check it and less than 2 litres of oil came out when I drained it. I am certain this also contributed to other noises I was hearing since the timing chain tensioner works on oil pressure which activates a spring loaded plunger that presses up against the chain glides to keep the timing chain snug so it doesn't rattle, as well as compensate for the chain stretching over time. This may lead some to believe their timing chain tensioner may need to be replaced which is a very expensive job to get done. So the morale of the story is always check your oil on these turbo engines. In my case, after replacing the engine oil, the remaining noises from the chain dissappeared.

มุมมอง 6587 หลายเดือนก่อน
QuickJack has come in very handy when swapping out seasonal tires or doing brake work, as it allows me to lift all 4 tires off the ground at once. This definitely saves alot of time when having to do this on multile vehicles. However, they are not very easy to move when you are trying to align them for your vehicle. QuickJack does provided 2 positioning handles to assist, but I don't find them ...

Thought I'd shared my initial thoughts on the TuxMat Phantom custom car mats I purchased for a 2016 VW Passat. I have used Weather Tech in the past and have been quit happy with them. However I must say, the TuxMat Phantom mats take it to the next level with a nicer look and better coverage overall. Only time will tell if they will hold up as long as my Weather Techs.
2007 Honda Accord V6 AC issue and fix
มุมมอง 557ปีที่แล้ว
AC stopped work a couple years back, thought it was a leak in the system or worse a compressor issue. Didn't diagnose as car is old and had another car to drive for hot days. Diagnosed after a year, ended up being a simply blown 7.5mp fuse in the engine fuse box. However, AC stopped working again, fuse was fine but turns out the relay also located in the engine fuse box was defective. After rep...

Thank you so much !
THIS THE WRONG WAY TO OPEN THE KEY FOB! IF YOU DO THIS IT BREAKS THE SLOT THAT HOLDS THE KEY. INSTEAD PRY IN BETWEEN THE TWO TABS ON THE TOP.

Nice and easy thank you
Thank you for sharing! I need to raise the temperature on mine. It looks like it’s the same model. The cord goes into the wall and can’t be reached-do you think it’s fine to leave it plugged in or is it worth calling the landlord?
Thanks!
Thank you so much! We just spent 2 hours trying to fix our problem. Had I run across your video first, we could have been done in 5 minutes!
Glad it helped
Thanks. Your video helped!
Thank You for this info, but now I am wondering if that climate control can somehow be turned ON without A/C being turned on too? Sometimes I want to turn just blower and not A/C, but A/C turns ON always so I must turn it OFF manually.
@@zolaHOTBULL From.my understanding the automatic climate control should be smart enough to know whether to turn AC on or off based on temperature you set and crrrent indoor cabin temperature. Nonetheless if your cabin temperature sensor is not working properly then that can cause issues with the Automatic climate control.
Thanks for the cool video. I had same issues with hockey puck bush. I ended up stripping welded nut and used a Vise grip to get the bolt out. Cleaned the bolts and nut threads/ used the same with a tack weld on nut. Any recommendations how not to strip the nut?
Thanks for the compliment. I used lots of penetrating oil during removal and would loosen the bolt slightly and then tighten back in... repeating this until it felt loose. Now when putting the bolt back in I made sure that everything was aligned correctly so the bolt went in straight and tightened it slowly using a rachet making sure it felt like it was going in without much force so as to not strip the thread in the nut or bolt.
Excellent tutorial! I have the same grill only it has annoying flat screws holding the burner tubes on. I'll be replacing mine, in lovely 72f weather!
I actually love you
It's a whole lot easier if you remove the knobs up top and unscrew the face plate . You can see everything from the top . Easy peezy 😅😅😅
@@richielittlewood867 Agree. Realized that when I later replaced the igniter.
Putting the key back into the channel and twisting will get it open but it will also result in breaking the housing on that side. Better to pry apart the two thick plastic tabs in the middle.
That’s how I do it
Best demonstration, very clear, thank you.
Thanks. Appreciate it.
That's all very well, but the two little hooks you mention aren't there. I'm going to use the spacers to hold it in place.
Thanks a lot - this video really helped - I happened to have a similar grill and replacement part, however, the previous owner had removed the igniter completely. This video helped to identify how the square part fits in the round hole which was not intuitively obvious. I had to remove the white ceramic igniter itself in order to bend up the tab to lock it in place. Much appreciated!
Glad it helped
How the hell do you take for the dang glass. I’m trying to change the light bulbs lol.
The model I have you simply unscrew the cover to remove it.
Best video out there for this. thanks for sharing
@@abedj1220 Thank you for the kind words
What if your lift is not decompressing when installing
@@joshmercado1118 If you are referring to not being able to compress the shocks then what I would do is have someone lift the hood up higher and hold it while I install them.
Great video. I have a similar model that also needs the burners. I was going to order the same ones you had ordered but they are not genuine Weber burners. Doesn’t that detract from whole Weber mystique and makes it just like any old BBQ grill?
Why not slip the pink plastic float holder shown in the video off the chain and slide it on to the chain above the float to hold it in place?
Outstanding video. Thank you Very Much.
I could totally do this myself.... Will change the tubes at the same time the plate is off. So glad I found your 2 videos. Thank you.
Would a girl be able to do this?? Also I just need to replace the pipe that goes vertical on the far left. I've had my Weber since 1999. It's 25 years old. Looked at some brand new ones today. I like my old one better.
These are a pain to close. They keep popping back up and do not want to close tightly.
Question: I replaced my harness about a year & a half ago, and since then, my Blind Spot Indicator has not been working. Are they connected?
Why don't people ever try a wire wheel on a drill?
These cans are a DISASTER in my experience. They do NOT allow you to hammer the lid back on the can, risking air leaks and paint spoilage in storage. I literally had to go out and buy aftermarket paint lids that allow access to the paint (stirring or brush use) WITHOUT ever removing the lid again to avoid this major issue. The only way the plastic lids can be reinstalled is to have ~perfectly cleaned lips and grooves on both the can rim AND the plastic lid. This was done as a cost-cutting measure, NOT a customer convenience/service! Sorry to sound negative, but this really screwed up my workflow while painting my entire home's exterior this year.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am not fond of them either.
👏🏻👏🏻Update this helped my car a save me a whole lot of money an I did my self
I couldn’t get the first screw out asking for help but was able to get the rest of the screw out
I phoned Weber for parts , and he was not allowed to say it , but he said it . The new Webers don’t last as long -lol . I got mine in 2006 and it’s 2024 now ! . This will be the second purchase , flavour plates aswell. !
I will be replacing the switch out on my car car as soon as it cool down today
Turn to Jesus people, he died for your sins. Repent of what the New testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel get baptized and obey the teachings of Jesus. The gospel and the teachings of Jesus are documented in Matthew Mark Luke and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved, if you have faith in Jesus through your faith you will live by his teachings. God bless
wtf????
Praise the lord he saved me about 50.00!
Mine is 18 years old. Thanks for the video. You did a great job. I’m going to fix mine now because it’s clearly worth it.
Appreciate your comment.
Helpful videos. Ty
I found a way to save some work if you have a cutoff wheel or hack saw. I first removed the screws holding the burner ends. Then i cut off the last 4 or 5 inches. Then i was able to easily remove the burners from the right side. I was able to slide the new burners in from the right side without removing all the mounting hardware of the nozzels. Then i just had to wiggle them back in to the nozzels.
Thanks for sharing this helpful tip.
Before installing I adjusted the airflow regulators to match the old ones. After installation the flames are yellow instead of blue. Any suggestions?
I have 3 of these in my house and some at apartments. Great Toilet. Unfortunately CostCo no longer stocks these in Maryland and Northern Virginia 😫
Did it fix the issue
There were a combination of suspension components I ended up changing to finally clear up all the rattling and noise. Refer to my other videos.
@@sopromondo3262 will check. Did any include cv axles
No videos on cv axles but I had one snap on me a few years back and shortly after replacing that I also did the opposite side as a preventative measure. To clarify my previous reply, the lower control arm being bad was associated with the noise I would hear on acceleration from fead stop and when stopping. That noise did go away after replacing them. The other noises I had like rattling were as a result of bad engine and tranny mounts.
I had the same model or similar, replacing an old mansfield. But it does not have a float, and now I understand why it is loud when flushing. It closes too soon and loud. I paid a plumber to install, so I don't know if there was one that came with it and he just did not know what it was for? He was honest enough to tell me of his experience. He doesn't even know how to install a shark bite water valve. Thank you for the education. I should have research this issue the first inkling, a couple years ago.
It looks like you didn’t fix it it’s still shaking than before hahaha
thanks for the great video!!!!
Thanks for doing this video. I just replaced the burners, following the video, and it works like new.
Hapoy to hear it helped.
Do we need to replace key also if we only chnzge this switch? Hope key will rotate and work
No you do not need to change your key when replacing this part.
