Primalist is also better than the basic Barbarian... With a second bloodline (mythic) you can get 4 rage powers every 4 levels. The Tieflings good aligned weapon is irrelevant because of that Storyteller artifact you can get at the beginning of act 2. Or also from th Celestial bloodline at level 1.

The familiars do pop up on screen actually. You need to turn that on in the abilities tab.

You missed a few things... First of all about the Judge, you might need to rethink whether it's better than the base one, because it's kind of a trap. It's really limited by action economy, because everything you want is a swift action. So activating judgement is a swift action and can be done only in combat, then sharing judgement is another swift action, so you need 2 whole turns just to start sharing judgement, and then another turn for Sentence. And combat doesn't last that long. Second, for Huntsmaster, one very big draw is double stacking pet levels if you take the animal domain. So with boon companion you get a level 20 pet just with 10 inquisitor levels and the rest petless classes. And with sanctified slayer, the talents should just be seen as extra feats (combat tricks), which is good, since basic talents aren't really good themselves.

Hey, just adding my one cent: you're missing a kind of hidden archetype from the Dark Codex mod: Virtuous Bravo, which is a duelist-ish paladin. It's hard to find because you actually have to enable it in UMM. Great video!

I wish they had more oracle curses. I would love if there was the tabletop lycanthropy curse (which is different to the wolf-scarred face). Also I like the heal spells too like there’s already lots of damage in the game especially through mythic paths

Are you going to do a playthrough with each mythic path for each of the archetypes reviewed in these overviews? Where alignment requirements permit of course.

The conqueror is completely overpowered. Its a paladin and skald minus the spellbook. Its the demon dancer variant of the skald, which is not as good, but with the investment some extra rage powers at mid to late levels, you can get everything you need (it will be 3 feats in total to get the best totem and lethal stance lines). Unless the dreadknights spellbook is truly spectacular, which I am guessing its not, it might be the strongest martial class in the game.

It might be helpful to review the spellbook. I expect its somewhat different to the paladin.

Channel profane corruption is somewhat better than you indicate. Yes, you lose the touch attack, but crucially, its a swift action, allowing you to use it alongside your full attack action. This makes an otherwise fairly underwhelming feature into something genuinely useful, which is important, as its a major class feature. Paladins had a swift self heal and even as a standard action, breaking dangerous crowd control effects on party members is useful. But a single target CC as a melee standard action with relatively a low DC and a crappy amount of damage is very rarely going to be better than attacking. Doing it in addition to attacking, however, is a nice bonus.

I would say Aura of Cowardice is actually rather strong. There are some really good fear effects in this game, including phantasmal killer and weird. Also, fear and banshee blast a powerful CCs that, unlike enchantment spells, do not allow a save every round. A -4 penalty AND breaking fear immunity is actually pretty fantastic. I dont have any mods of the game. Can you advise on how buggy the modded archetypes and classes are?

Its a modded archetype, so I have no idea how good a draconic companion is, but if its similar to a animal companion, its easily worth the loss of the exploits. If you aren't a brownfur transmuter and you arent some weird frankenstein tank build, potent magic is the only exploit that is worth a damn. One exploit is fine and you can always take the extra exploit feat if for some reason you wanted to use your reservoir on something other than increasing caster level or spell DC.

I would say at higher difficulty levels, the protective luck hex is generally the first pick. 2 reduction in AC on one target is much weaker than forcing all incoming attacks on your tank to be rolled with disadvantage. And yes, a lot of the features displayed (including many of the hexes) are due to mods. I am not sure which spells for the winter patron school are particularly good. Several of them are on the base spell list and none of them are outstanding. The Hag of Gyrona doesnt lose its patron. It just gets not choice over its patron spells (and to be fair, they are far from the best patron spells). The night hag is a decent melee combatant and haste bot (the offensive spells are seldom worth using due to low DCs), sunder hope is a solid feature and +2 fear spells includes some decent spells (fear, phantasmal killer and potentially banshee blast if you have high enough DCs that the extra save is worth allowing for the damage). And yes, you get to choose when to activate sunder hope, which is up to 3 greater dispels extra that can be combined with evil eye in the same action, which is a really nice debuff. The Hex channeler is terrible. You have to trade a 1 hex to progress the channel energy ability by a single d6. If it was 1 hex just for the channel energy class feature, yes, it would be a no brainer, but to have the channel energy ability actually do anything, you lose essentially all your hexes bar 1, unless you invest heavily in the extra hex feat. And frankly, channel energy falls off pretty hard as you advance. When you can use a greater quicken metamagic rod and mass heal, channel energy is never the right choice for healing in combat lategame. Out of combat, it is merely a convenience. Keen eyed adventurer doesnt buff cantrips nearly enough for them to be worth using, particularly on a class with bad AB and another option for spammable abilities: hexes. Evil eye or protective will nearly always be a better option, nevermind situations where animal servant or restless slumber can be used. Sage sorcerer is an intelligence spontaneous caster. Witch of the veil is a strong archetype. Weird alone is an outstanding spell. A swift action teleport + greater invisibility is a very strong defensive ability, though I am not sure if it including a teleport is better than an arcane tricksters greater invisibility being a free action.

I think unlettered arcanist sounds fun in a tabletop campaign with flavour to do with familiars and more freedom with storytelling but you don’t get enough in wotr from familiars to justify playing it

I'm running him honour mode (third try now, got to level 6 and died to Grym last week) and I gave him a CON dumpstat my first try but the higher base level when he joins you in SoA definitely enabled that 😅 I've rearranged some of his stats for survivability/function (low level HP + finesse mechanics making strength less vital + 5e magic rules). I have been having a blast with him; the doomguard attitude makes for some interesting -- and actually different to a common sense Tav -- choices at points. I went with Asmodeus tiefling for the entropy ~ light/darkness vibe. I prefer him as a duelling swords bard and then give him Phalar Aluve -- but I also had him wielding all the heavy weapons in ToB with Use Any Item (my party was not balanced lmao) so it doesn't feel like a change to me. I'm sure it will be very amusing to me when he does make it to Jaheira and then Minsc/Sarevok 😂

Bad portraits? Not only is Aerie pretty in an otherworldly/ethereal way, but she _actually_ appears to be an elf (angular features and tilted eyes); the elves in L's pet project are humans with pointy ears. Talk about boring physiognomy.

Yeah agreed when it comes to the portraits. There's a website called Notra's Gate that let's you upload a JPG and crop the three portrait sizes then download everything you need in a ZIP folder. Works great and pretty quick.

Which mod are you using to constantly show 8 portraits? It looks way better than only having 6 when you also have animal companions.

I think the whole reason why Stigmatized Witch is so weird was because Owlcat originally wanted Ember to be an Oracle but didn't want 2 Oracle companions so they just made her a custom Witch archetype which was basically an Oracle but with Hexes. You can see some remnants of this in the game's campaign select screen where there's a white haired caster below the Angel who was an early design for her.

Wouldn't Tortured Crusader work (at least in concept) for Dame Aylin as well? Being stuck for so long would probably make her rely on her own powers and skills to endure what she went through

I'm going to try this Dame Aylin playthrough on normal, currently I'm on my first playthrough. I have a few other requests, characters from Dragon Age which I of course am also going to play after the Nightsong Aylin build.

Can you make a Dame Aylin build? Sword of the silver Knight Moonmaiden. It is not possible with BG3 on console without mods.

Speaking in general class terms, while thematically with the whole patron thing, I would agree that witch is a good comparison for warlock, I think mechanically, especially in the most recent edition of pathfinder, Kineticist is possibly more similar to warlock, with the core 'blast' to it, and options to be more melee or ranged based. For Wyll specifically I think you're pretty spot on with Eldritch Scion, though I could also see an argument for something like a melee Shaman or Warpriest, as all have that 'external power' theme going on. Not watched the entire video yet, so maybe you change it later on, but for Wyll, and the warlock class, I would probably lean more into dex than charisma, as to me the character of Wyll feels more to fit a swordsman with magic than a caster with a sword. Overall really enjoyed the video, glad I've found you and looking forward to see what else you come up with!
