  • @thenoobdev
    @thenoobdev 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Does the fact that your metasounds graph goes until 500_vol, imply it'll be used for vehicles with max. 5000 rpm? Should I expand it to have more nodes up to 9000 rpm? Or is this handled with the clamps (in the event graph of the vehicle)? After watching 2 times, I'm still a bit confused in this 😂 can't wait to have my graph COMPLETED and hear it with the engine loops I have from a Nismo GTR 🎉

    • @sotasounduk
      @sotasounduk 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, if you want to go up to 9000 rpm, to avoid excessive pitch shifting you'll need to add more wave players up to 9000. In the previous episode we make a smaller scale version of the metasound and the event graph. Maybe you've watched it already? If you haven't that might help in getting your head around the larger scale version because I go over why the numbers are the way they are. The good news is the higher the rpm the bigger jumps you can make from one wave players to another due to the spacing of ratios. I.e. 1-2 is a doubling and 5-10 is a doubling. Even though one ratio is moving a value of 5 to double it requires less pitch shift to move a value of 1 from 5. If that makes sense. Hope that helps mate. If you do have any specific issues I'll be happy to try and help via the comments.

      @@sotasounduk thanks for the quick response 😊 my question was actually more related to the previous video indeed, took me only 2 and half hours to take over and understand the graph 😂 I will give it a try with more wave players and than also in the event graph of vehicle to adjust the ratios you turn on/off. Will need help later on and definitely contact you 😂👍🏻 Have a great day

    • @sotasounduk
      @sotasounduk 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thenoobdev Yea once you get your head around it you'll be good. It's literally just a case of bringing those extra wave players together with another mixer and adjusting the pitch shifting so it = 0 for each new sample you add. And the ratio multiplier will also need to get smaller the closer the ratios of each wave players jump is. Thanks man! You have a great day too!

  • @mysticalsoundshower
    @mysticalsoundshower ปีที่แล้ว

    Good stuff! The noise filtering gets a lot done which I was trying to do with regular (squ-saw) waves. One thing, does Snapheap let you speed up the LFO as your acceleration parameter increases? I think that might sell the feeling of the pistons moving faster at higher speeds, or perhaps decrease the amount of LFO send. Really good sounding engine though

    • @sotasounduk
      @sotasounduk ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can attach a macro to the rate of the LFO. For game development I would use the LFO inside UE because you can't make UE communicate with Snapheap. Snapheap is helping do most of the heavy lifting before exporting the different rpm ranges and bringing those audio files into UE. There is a video coming up which will go through this. :) Thanks for the comment.

      @@sotasounduk tomorrow will be the premiere buddy ... not much to change now as the final mix is out and I am running out of time ... but for sure I need another gain staging session as the toms signal is way too weak ... and to redesign the fx chains somehow ... but need to track 3-4 vids in a row and buy me some time ...

      I know mate. You're really on it with your uploads! I'm only committing to one a week right now. And still may need to take a small break once this course is fully uploaded. I'm going to have a lot more time next September though so frequency of upload will increase. :) I'll keep an eye for your vids. If you ever want to send me the multis for me to have a go at processing them that could be a good collab idea. You could use the finished processed version in a video and I'll make tut on how they were processed.

      Hello SK, thank you for the kind words. Feel free to send me some examples of your work via email. You can find contact details by visiting my website (Link in the description). If you send me links to other websites please be sure they are from common and reputable websites (SoundCloud, Spotify, etc). If I don't recognise the URL I will ignore it out of caution. Hope you understand.

    New sub in here ... love the way you present and process your stuff let's grow together .... definitely if you give up some more volume to your voice the production will be perfect ... in the video ... but keep those coming and keep presenting us your knowledge and experience brother :) Greetings from Greece :)

      Once again thank you got the kind words! I really appreciate it. Also I agree with the volume of the voice in hindsight. Was very busy with clients work so I was a bit burned out producing this in my free time. New episodes will be released weekly on Mondays until the course is up in full. At which I'll be starting production for series 2 where we'll be taking a look at more contemporary music production. Thank you for the support!
