Kemppi: Welding New Worlds
Some industrial/manufacturing corporate videos can become cultural pieces as much as technology and machinery with a little bit of creative thought. I filmed and produced this marketing video for Kemppi, a leading, state-of-the-art Finnish multinational, about four years ago.
An Unending Voyage of the Soul
Philo Orange (Philosophy in Orange) was launched by me in this NSW Central Western city in Australia seven months ago, and has answered a definite need for open-minded intellectual debate in this rural community. This video was produced for an Expo of non-profit community organisations in Orange and resulted in a doubling of our membership. Let me know what you think. You can join as an online ...
Hilton Sarawak - The Last Great Adventure
Sarawak, which is Malaysia's territory on the jungle island of Borneo, has been ravaged in recent years by ruthless exploitation of its forests by timber companies and extensive land-clearing for pepper and palm oil plantations. The only positive thing that can be said about it is that the environmental devastation has been far worse on the Indonesian-owned half of the island. But despite all, ...
A New World - KONE Elevators
KONE is an innovative, high-tech, highly respected Finnish multinational, producing elevators, escalators, moving walkways and electronic security doors and gates. I had the honour of working as their key corporate video producer from1993 to 2007, and it was a most thrilling experience - travelling all over the world to film not just KONE technology and installations, but the many vibrant cultu...
The Walk
Sydney has ocean beaches that are among the very best in the world. And they provide for more than sunbathing and surfing - their rocky headlands form a dramatic hiking trail, especially between the key beaches of Maroubra, Coogee and Bondi. It's not just the rocky cliffs, envigorating sea air and ocean vistas that make this walk so interesting, it's the hidden natural art and other treasures a...
Sydney's Harbour Garden
When people visit Sydney's Botanic Gardens they're immediately struck by its spectacular setting spreading from the iconic Sydney Opera House right round the harbour foreshore to Lady Macquarie's Chair, with the skyscrapers of downtown Sydney CBD behind. But the garden's unique flora and fauna are even more amazing, beginning with the very unlikely looking Bottle Tree from tropical Queensland.
The Rocks - Sydney's Violent Birthplace
Directly below the southern tower of Sydney's famed Harbour Bridge and right across the harbour from the equally renowned Opera House lies The Rocks, where the first fleet of convict ships from Great Britain hove to in 1788. And so began Sydney's and Australia's infamous birth, an era of colonial brutality and human misery that many Australians are only now accepting without a certain sense of ...
Excerpts from "Romeo & Juliet" -- Prokofiev
In the summer of 1988 I was kindly invited by the Finnish multinational, Savcor Corp, to film the Russian Imperial Ballet performing Sergey Prokofiev's ballet, "Romeo and Juliet," in Mikkeli, Finland. I'd never filmed a ballet before, and it was more than just a creative challenge I had my camera on a short-legs tripod right amongst the audience and overlooking the orchestra pit, and had to "ch...
Cairns Inflight Travel TV Debut
Not many people know this (thankfully) but in the late 1990s I wrote, directed, edited, produced and starred in a series of "Senior Action Man" inflight travel videos for Cathay Pacific Airways. I did four programs in all, before a radical marketing shift targeted young Cantonese playing scissors as the airline's future. The cameraman was the highly talented and very patient Hong Kong shooter, ...
Tom Ward at Circular Quay
Tom Ward, guitarist, is one of Australia's most accomplished young musicians with a growing international profile, and yet he's not afraid to get down to a metal chair and hot tarmac to do a bit of busking here and there. I caught him playing in the late afternoon at Circular Quay in Sydney, right across from the iconic Sydney Opera House, and he was a real joy to film. You can find out a lot m...
Barcelona
I've filmed twice in Barcelona in recent years, and would love to travel there much more. It's a vibrant city that combines old and new with surprising ease, and also proudly features one of the world's most successful solar energy platforms, powering the new Forum business district. But it's the people who make Barcelona such an exciting experience.

@MrBidtowin I saw on his myspace page that he makes over 250,000 dollars a year. I wouldn't care if I was famous or not. If I make that much doing the thing i love, i would be very happy.
