The "N" word (no) should be a regulars part of your vocabulary with your children. Especially if you are dealing with toddlers. That word of course is "no." In a world where everyone practices autonomy, we're headed for anarchy. Teach your kids to say 'no' and to accept 'no' and we'll build a generation of kids who are considerate of others, critical thinkers, understand consent, and make wise ...
How Do I Raise Emotionally Intelligent Children?
มุมมอง 872 ปีที่แล้ว
Raising emotionally intelligent children requires work but it's not as hard as you might think. With a few key phrases and a splash of intentionality behind your responses, you'll be headed in the right direction. I'd even make the argument that EQ is more important than IQ.

    TEACH THE KIDS READING & WRITING & BASIC MATH then when they have mastered those subjects then give them the freedom to choose what subjects they want to know about. Do not flood your kids heads with shit they have no interests in that is exhausting and keep your kids away from American History and World history and religions because those subjects promote WARS and SLAVERY and other shit kids of modern day do not need to know about because history has always ended up in wars and slavery and Deadly and Violent and deadly Religious Crusades and Witch Hunts and Inquisitions. do you belive in GOD yes do you believe in my GOD no BANG !! Hi! It really does depend on a few factors. How much time you have to homeschool, your child's learning style, will you supplement with online learning or co-ops, do you want it to be faith-based, Classical, Montessori...and so on. I would start with "why" you want to homeschool and read about the top five types. If your goals don't align with one, research another. Good luck!

      @@gigglezillakids7379 He turned 2 about 3 weeks ago. We go to his room and change his diaper, I dim the lights, put on some lullaby music. That is the start but me just walking into his room causes a meltdown, diaper makes it worse, dimming the lights and the sound is the end of the world so at that point trying to read to him or anything is not an option. I usually end up holding him and trying to hum or rub his back etc until he calms down. He eventually calms down and when I go to put him in bed the meltdown starts again. So I cannot even walk in his room without him knowing it’s nap time and getting upset.

    In NJ all you have to do is let the school know you are going to homeschool if your children are enrolled in public school- however if they have never been to in public school, you don’t need to tell anyone.. you just start. Also in New Jersey, any curriculum you choose must be the equivalent but NOT identical -to NJ ‘s. I’ve decided to pull my 2 children out of public school because of the negative things they are learning and I honestly hate only being with my children like 3 hours a day Mon-Friday.

    • @gigglezillakids7379

      Oh wow! That's so different than Washington. I'm amazed at how different public schools are now compared to when I was in school. If parents are able, my recommendation is private or homeschool. I hope your homeschooling journey with your kiddos is rewarding!

      Thank you for this. My son is currently in public school PreK 3. He's on the autism spectrum, and my husband and I are leaning towards homeschooling for preK 4. He has a lot of outpatient therapy and the school district is not providing those services for him in school. Currently i pick him up early from school to go to appointments. I think for NJ I read on nj.gov that preK through Kindergarten isn't required, only 1st grade on. Don't quote me

    Such great information. Thank you. I need to learn all of this. I sought you out after reading "Think like a horse" and the way Grant described "gentle yet firm". I hope you don't mind me making a suggestion. You have such a mastery of this content and such a clear authority with presenting it, yet I almost turned it off because in the intro you were a completely different person. I imagine it's intentional, I work with clients as well, and find myself altering my speech patterns depending on who I'm talking to. I heard about the book, "Permission to Speak" the other day that I'm adding to my library to address this habit of mine. Really, humbly grateful for the content, I hope this suggestion doesn't land wrong!

    • @kminyon91
      @kminyon91 ปีที่แล้ว

      This content is so amazing. I’ve followed for awhile and look forward to new content as I continue to use it to help me learn and grow. Regarding the comment about her seeming like a totally different person, I’d actually have to totally disagree. I love that she is unique and genuine. It’s what attracts me to this channel. If the content isn’t for you and you consider turning it off as you stated, that’s okay. This content may not be for every person. There are other options out there. The idea that someone is going to remain the same way and not change is what limits growth and suppresses individuality. For example… children don’t act the same way before breakfast as they do after recess. We simply have to grow and evolve our own thinking before sharing an expectation or suggestion of this caliber with others. I also don’t consider showing all sides of your personality as a bad “habit”. I think it’s a necessary piece of discovering who you are. Shandace - I normally don’t leave comments here but please that my husband and I have really learned a lot from your channel and we can’t wait to see what new content is shared! Keep doing your thing, and keep showing up with your whole self 😊 Lots of people love your personality and your uniqueness!

    I had to comment because you gave such a thorough explanation of gentle parenting and it was engaging. Interesting because I practice those pillars with my kids, and people would love to say I "spoil" my kids but our household is super structured but also fun. (and I have a blended family of 7 so it works even on a large scale, although its much harder than just beating everybody up🥴). I call myself an intentional parent because I felt like I wasn't quite gentle parenting because I keep it gangster. 😂

      Ahhh! I love it!! My household and preschool are the same way. I spoil the kids with love but the expectations and structure are clear. It's a balancing act, really. I like how you used the word intentional because it takes a tremendous about of intentionality to be gentle (and not beat everybody up 😝) Thank you for watching the video and thank you for taking the time to comment. Merry Christmas :)

  • @ccre88trixx
    @ccre88trixx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am not shy, never have been. But I am an introvert. Growing up, I was constantly picked on by adults for being "too quiet" or "shy". I spoke in a normal inside voice. Just because I wasn't talking constantly, I was apparently "too quiet". And I'm actually quite outgoing, I'm not scared of any social interactions, I just prefer to keep to myself most of the time. It irritates me so much when adults want to dictate how kids' personalities are. I honestly think parents like that are a little disordered...like you shouldn't have kids because you think you can control every aspect of them. Children are humans, just like the rest of us, and they are their own autonomous beings. We don't get to control who they are just because we created them. (I really think that's an odd idea too. We're more like portals for a new soul to enter Earth rather than creators of mini-me's.)

    • @gigglezillakids7379

      We are so similar in that I was always quiet growing up but everyone would call me shy! I am a people watcher by nature and love observing. Preach mama, I appreciate this so much. My son who is 5, is very shy around people he doesn’t know. I was also very shy as a child and am now a very introverted adult. I can’t tell you the amount of times I heard, “why don’t you talk much?” throughout my teenage years. I never understand why being “shy” is considered “weird” or “bad”, especially in children. I’ve also stopped apologizing to people when my son won’t conversate back with them. It’s not my place to force him to talk to people if he’s not comfortable with it. Being flexible one of my hardest things that I had to deal here at home. We are homeschooling or online learning a fifth grader,third grader and kindergartener. It’s difficult but this year we found it to be OK let’s see how this goes is our first year I want to continue doing it but we still worry for them but that’s just us we want to get to know more of what is in store for their future and what their benefits are this is very new to us at this time we’ve taken it one step at time.

    • @gigglezillakids7379
      @gigglezillakids7379 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zaida! I hear other homeschool parents say that flexibility is hard because sometimes the kids are having a hard time and you have to pivot your plan for the day or how you teach them altogether. Your kids are blessed to have a mama who so invested in their education. Keep it up because like you said, there are a lot of benefits in homeschooling!
