The weather started to heat up. Lassen Trout season might be ending soon. Don't get discourage, trout are still lingering throughout the reservoir. Striped bass are still on the menu and they are prowling closer to the shore. Let's not forget, weather is warming up rapidly the Cats will come out to play.

Cancellation is the hardest thing to hear especially you and your friends had exert so much efforts on planning a trip. Tuna fishing trip is one of the most expensive by far for some of us. However, things happened for a reason. One door closes, another one opens.

Weather starting to heat up. Some trouts are hiding a bit deeper that usual. Lures seem to work better for trophy sizes Lassen. Although, Power bait still dominate the catch ratio. Stripers still elusive while trolling. Some anglers caught them on bait and wait using frozen anchovies.

Finally we were able to get out for the 20 fathom rockfish season of 2024. We visited our old stumping ground due North from the Red can and it did not disappoint.

Weather might be the biggest factor of todays adventure. Los Vaqueros Management delayed the boat rentals till 0800 due to high wind and Gusts. Finding them trout was a bit difficult on the first hour of our trip, we moved two different spots before our first hook up. No bites on Power bait and Mice tale. All on Spoon.

Howden Cove still the undisputed spot from last month and this week for me. Friends are catching numerous sizes ranging from 5 to 8 pounders. Stripers bites on trolling slowed a bit for me, most of the reports are bait and wait seems to be more productive method with cut anchovies for bait.

Another awesome day at the Salt and Fresh. This video has two different days of fun in the sun. Halibut fishing in the bay is hot. There are lots of keepers are being caught and striped bass are also on the menu. My friend also caught his very first halibut keeper. Los Vaqueros weather is starting to heat up a bit but the Lassen and DFWG Trouts are still hot biting.

It was one of the best weather i've seen at the reservoir. The water was super clear you can see at least 20ft down. There were lots of Large Mouth Bass swimming around and Super sized Carp. It is the season for the Carp to find its mate and finding their mates they did all throughout the reservoir.

Los Vaqueros is one great place to fish for Trout, Stripers, Catfish or Carp. However, Weather sometimes can be unpredictable. If you are new to this place, always check the weather before going. Call the Marina for Regulations and informations.
