I hope the recruits are looking at it as “we’re the difference”, and then retain guys like Perry… I hope he sees that KLS is gone next year which slides him in there full time with Cam. Clearly our freshmen are playing above what we expected (at least what I expected) and hopefully choose to stay and build this program under their play. They literally are the future (and the now).

Agree with most of it, but I don’t think it’s fair to say they desire/want to lose. Obviously those kids wanted to win more than anyone, and they can see and hear how we’re talking about them.

Yeah its bad.They show flashes of talent but overall the team is completely fragile.

Bad coaching decisions. Bad play calling. Bad portal management. And losing games you ought to win isn't a good recruiting strategy. When someone shows you who they are, believe them. The good news is that we're just a little closer to being rid of Hugh Freeze.

I want Hank Brown with Holden as QB2. I don't want to see Thorne on the field again. Pulling Brown was another in a long line of coaching mistakes. Freeze is determined to run an offense that doesn't fit his personnell. This is all on the coaching staff. Freeze brought in 'his' guys and the offense is notable worse. How is that possible with better talent? The head coach is stubborn, arrogant, and poor at making decisions.

Who do you want to start vs. Oklahoma, Hank Brown, Payton Thorne, or someone else?

I’m sure Malcolm Simmons will get the ball more and more as the season progresses. He needs to learn the playbook to run the routes he’s supposed to. I’m sure he will.

That was a smooth statement Hugh made about practice. It ain’t working on me though. If throwing the ball short and behind is great in practice, then practice is exactly the problem. I can play the shell game too.

In the presser, I didn’t hear/interpret CHF say Thorne was the starter for the next game. I think there’s something to be said about how he is going to meet with them both individually before practice. As a coach with a moral compass, you don’t bench a quarterback publicly before having a conversation with him privately. IMO

CAL had over 90% of there roster returning and was top 20 in the transfer portal. So they gave us struggles last year but they are a lesser opponent? We have a long way to go.

They should play Hank and if he doesn't work out go back to Thorne just like Saban did with Milroe last year.

They need to play Jahquez Robinson #30!! Best player in the secondary. Period

Fire Hugh freeze

From the Cal side, we were watching the second half adjustments by auburn and the run gash starting to think this is where it flips. They maintain the Hunter run, force the defense to bite to play action and go over the top. Throw in a sprinkle of intermediate throws to get PT warm and loosen up the defense. The fact that Auburn stuck to bombing played right into our blitz schemes. Honestly, I think PT is getting way too much hate. This was more an OC-Freeze fail in our opinion because they committed to a premature scheme because of week 1 impressions. Auburn will have something special in a year or 2 but they pushed that button too early.

If Hank struggles at least u have a excuse. U don’t have that with Thorne.

Even if PT threw at 70% for 300+ yards against NM it would be meaningless. We wouldn't have any reason to believe he'd be any better against Arkansas or Oklahoma! But if we play Hank he gets experience, we learn what he can do, he gets film to learn from, he and Walker are the future! Who knows, we might even salvage the season. But we KNOW what's coming in SEC play if Freeze insists on sticking with Thorne! There is NO upside to playing Thorne against NM! At least with Hank there's an excuse. He's young with almost 0 experience. We have to expect mistakes. Payton is a 5th year Senior!

Bruh PT wasn’t that great at Michigan State He’s never had a good game vs a top 50 defense His best games were against the 108, 81, & 85th ranked defenses and that was with 1st round NFL talent He faced the 46, 18, 39 & 50th ranked defenses and had 7 TDs with 3 interceptions and 923 yards PT isn’t that great of a QB
