@@flywithmike8608 yea...your correct...I installed the gear on the wrong sides....all fixed now and flew great
So, did it actually come with the new AS3X+ receiver?
@BillKisel yes...it came with the as631 reciever
Looks nice.🛩👍
@nikolajc7617 thank you very much... I do hope the weather will be good for a maiden flight on sunday...fingers crossed
Too much talking - I fell asleep
Wow, this looks a lot like where I live in upstate SC.
@@Zyrek1 thanks for the reply...not SC...but we're close.
Looking at the entire year I probably average 4-5 flights a week. I'll fly on my property almost every morning, weather permitting, and will occasionally get an evening flight before dark. Add to this going to the club field twice a week - weather permitting and it being flying season which is generally April through October. This year we've been getting some nice November weather so the club has still been meeting to fly Wednesday and Sunday late afternoons.
@BillKisel that's AWESOME....glad your getting plenty of "stick" time in...👍👍 I had to do an edit...so simple math on a LOW side count....approximately 315 flights a year....low balling the count... WOW....
@@okiedoak201 Being able to step out of the house, put your plane down on the driveway and then take off makes it possible. If I needed to drive to another location to fly it would be a whole different story.
same on dx9
That is cool!
To funny how loud the aero scout really is , it sounds like a vacuum cleaner in the sky.
@keepyourairspeedup and the 3 blade doesn't help....I'm still laughing about "vacuum cleaner in the sky"...and my buddies carbon cub is whisper quiet....well until it either slammed in the ground or got caught up in a tree....then slammed to the ground....hahahhahaaaa
Great job Lad's! Better on the ground than in the that tree 😉 just curious what size 3 blade you've put on the aeroscout!? ❤😉🙃😎 NZ
@deanedeane4318 we install the Master Airscrew 6x3.2 prop... from there 3MR series...CCW rotation...or normal rotation... I bought mine directly from master airscrew...way cheaper than Amazon
Put the Mustang back together now when you fly it you won't really care if it catches a tree
@ghoward6797 that's a very good idea...I still have a partial wing...all the servos and the motor/esc.... I did purchase the Cherokee real flight airplane from STEAM last night to get the feel of the plane...so that shouldn't be a surprise....and as the ol saying goes..."3 mistakes high"....how about "3 trees high".....Hahahahaaaaa.
@okiedoak201 don't worry mine spent all last summer stuck in a tree... fell out in the fall rebuild in winter and flew all this summer
@ghoward6797 so...how many times did you go and Inspect the tree to see if it moved ?
@@okiedoak201 I fly at least once a week at that park and would go out during any strong storm to watch the plane bob around till one day it fell out of the tree lol
Just curious as to why you have two AeroScouts. I also have two of them. The first one was the one I learned to fly on. It’s beat up but still flies great. I love the AeroScout so I bought a new one as well. Nice Cherokee. All the best to you.
@davegedeon3767 well...it's really simple....I have brain issues.....hahaha... No..it started out as a "I need a parts plane"....so I found the second one on FB market place really cheap and never flown...so it was really a no brainer...
Wish i had the change to go shooting serious guns here in Denmark, but its very difficult and importing a gun cost 5 times what you pay for a gun in the states.
@nikolajc7617 wow...I do understand that most of the European countries are real tight when it comes to not just guns but any weapons of any kind...I spent some time in Great Britain and just to have a knive I was in violation with the law....kinda interesting...while many countries around the world have such tight gun restrictions....here in the USA..."most" not all citizens has not one but many guns....two things we really love....our flag and guns...and we seem to have a huge heart for helping others around the world....thanks for commenting..
Can you explain to me why you need an I-Bus receiver when your receiver already have the channels???
@nikolajc7617 the short answer is....no..I can't really explain why . I'm sure I bus or S bus really comes into play with drones and small stuff where weight and space becomes an issue....
@@okiedoak201 Okay, i only have cars, but i have a radio with 4 channels and a receiver with 4 channels and it have I-Bus, but when i set I-BUS receiver on i only double the channels to do the same thing times 2, i thought i could get 8 channels with 4 on each receiver.
@nikolajc7617 yea....this is where the modern rc systems are advancing faster than I can learn and utilize the practical functions...honestly...I'm totally fine with the PPM(wires into the reciever) and never had an issue...but...it is kinda cool to learn a new trick or two...will I use it...remains to be seen.... Oh...then there is the SPEKTRUM radio and all there stuff....
Ok..so I'm doing some digging...and thisnis what I found....I cut and pasted the answer from RCGROUP.COM... Hi, i-Bus and S-Bus are digital, serial protocols for data transfer. They're digital in that they send numerical data rather than the analog timing data used by PWM and PPM. PWM uses multiple channels each sending analog timing data. PPM uses a serial format so a single channel sends all the channel data one after the other using analog timing intervals. The serial formats are used with a flight controller and allows a single connection from the receiver to the FC. i-Bus is the system that Flysky uses whereas S-Bus is Frsky (but based on Futaba protocol) so depending on what receivers you have this may dictate your choice. i-Bus is elegantly simple and is effectively 115,200 baud serial data. It also allows telemetry data whereby the plane/drone can send data back to the transmitter, indicating signal strength and battery pack voltage. Frsky later brought out Smart Port telemetry to address the need for data from craft to tx but it required a second (precious) UART. Still later they introduced F-Port which combined control data and telelmetry over a single port - just like Flysky had all along.
What are the odds?! I too have a Kia Soul, Aero Scout, and the Carbon Cub 2.
@@darkdaze3860 wow....time to.play the lottery
Waiting to see it launch :D sweet project.
@@EnlistedBombin I have been putting it off....it's ready to go...I just like everything perfect....I have been looking for some type of mini connections to clean up the wiring....I can demo it at its current state...then tidy things up later....ok ....ok..ok....you talked me in to it....I will dod something this coming weekend with it....cool....👍
@@okiedoak201 I am printing my M26 Rockets for my M270MLRS right now.. most of my prints fail though lol I am no good at 3d printing I can mill and lathe like a pro but I can not stop and correct the 3d printer. What are you using to ignite the fuse Niachrome wire?
@EnlistedBombin IGNITE clip on igniters..used to setup pyrotechnics...and yes...is looks to be a Clip-on Nichrome wite
Ok...got tied up with some other projects and it was a wet weekend(rain)...so I didn't have a chance to test out the 6x6 rocket launcher...
@EnlistedBombin I love the skill and talent of not just myself but other that have skill dripping from the hands...and then have issues with other stuff...I know what your saying...3d printing is a serious struggle with me as well...
Man ever since I was a kid I always wanted to get one of these rockets maybe I have to look into it as we inherited a two-year-old and he's five now getting close to the age range where that kind of stuff will be very fun
I too have hit the Throttle Cut switch before. I did immediately realize it and turned it back on though. Got a friend at the field who’s a very experienced pilot. On his final turn, coming in low and slow for his landing, he hit the Throttle Reverse switch. Lots of damage occurred. So he’s got both of us beat.
@gisall8205 wow...throttle reverse....now that's an eye full...I bet the instant stop in flight was jaw dropping....well i stant stop before the fall happened....you wouldn't have any video of that would you....
👍👍
It is very hard to believe that there are no carbon fiber rods supporting that fuselage.. I've got $100 Chinese planes that are built as such.
@tooleyzrc1973 yeah ....it does surprise me aswell...for the price one of these cost..one would think so...but..it keeps the price of replacement just within reach to keep people either replacing the fuselage or wing....or just getting the BNF as a parts plane...kinda savey on horizon hobby part...and let's not discuss the aeroscout nose gear...it's the first thing to get damaged...and with ample room in the interior fuselage...just no reason...
Sweet thanks
Rocket launcher idea sounds cool
@Skarhead7 I will have a video of the testing soon...I need to locate a some what safe place to ignite it...
Sir what is the ibus?
@Νικόλαος-ο5δ ibus is a serial communication method that is faster than the traditional pulse width modulation (PWM) that is typically used in RC products...there is also SBUS..(futaba) it's does the same but is a 1/2 phase out just to keep ibus separate from sbus...
Crashing the easiest plane to fly and blaming HH. LOL
@dirt5547 seriously though...the owner of this plane hasn't had one good flight...I suggested changing the flight controller...but HH would look at it at $60 shipping each way on owners' dime...
@@okiedoak201 no flight controller in it. It has a receiver with SAFE and AS3X. If SAFE was on, it would have helped. I suggest reading the manual. The video doesn't show a preflight check.
@@okiedoak201 I'd be happy to help
@dirt5547 thank you for the offer...the owner has removed the Spektrum equipment and Installed a flysky radio fs-i6x...we will get back out and fly his carbon cub again soon...this time with a success story hopefully...
@dirt5547 actually it does...the 3230a flight controller and the 4650c micro reciever ...
my bumpers i got came with long jst connectors for the lights, is there a way to get them to stay in place in the light hub? they keep getting loose
Possibly a dab of hot glue on the connector....not the terminals...just the connector
Steam the foam and it will release itself back quite a bit before you glue it this helps with taking the roll out of the plane after you fix it
When you get into a steep bank angle like that, you have to use some rudder or else it will want to go down. I myself crashed a friend's carbon cub over water because the same thing happened. Its either learn the hard way or not at all.
Very nice truck wow.....
Hot glue and foam tac work wonders. You’d be surprised how easy it is to put a foamie back together. I just rebuilt the same 850mm P51.
@@user-cc3cq7xi6p you are 100% correct....and a few pop sickle sticks....
love mine. Chill little machine on 3s
@@P.Trick93 is the gyro "reversable"
Hot glue works wonders
@user-eb7rc9wy4s so true about the hot glue...also on this type of foam, super glue also works..the nose took a pretty good hit...and compressed the fuselage length by a 1/2"(13mm)..so I will order a replacement...
You guys need help. Use bigger wheels and try to find level ground not up and down surface.
@chrisfetner332 yep...both of us together ain't got a full deck.....but on the fun side...we both haven't flown rc planes in many years(cub guy about 30years...and me going on 10 or so)... With that being said...our only option is to join AMA then a local rc club...all said and done is another $200 and that is something I'm not really interested in...
So...the NTSB got involved and and filed a FAA accident report...the insurance after full review has determined that the fuselage is a total loss due to extensive internal damage.....pilot has suffered major ego problems and may need counseling...😂
nice! well done!
@mithrandir1313 thank you very much...
That's a great hobby for Greg. Flying
@gbsmra52 we tried that once some time ago....and as much as I would like to see Greg attempt to fly again...I don't feel that it something that he would like to do.

Thanks for viewing....it was different...
That was hilarious
just went back and had to watch it again.....Ping.........Ping.....ping ping ping ping...Hahahahahaaaaaa
Not fun when you're paying by the hour. I do like loading mags though, it's part of the process.
Once in a rhythm it's not too bad.... But doing it at a pay range by the hour sucks....I found most places don't allow pre loaded mags...but..that's how it is... I can only imagine if pulled over by sheriff buford t. Justis the crap that will go down for loaded mags in the vehicle...
Just a note....this is not mine..belongs to a fellow co-worker..built very well...sturdy..and plenty of light...
How did it work out with the superglue? I wouldn’t think that would hold the pressure but maybe this proves otherwise. I have always used epoxy
I will post a update in june...the rocket club meets on the 15th and I will launch on that date

Im from the same era of boat racing in the 80's, and seeing the young guns making a dogs dinner out of running fast hulls, did you ever get this on the water ? as im thinking of moulding something a bit different and a cat would get me off my rigger only stint .Regards Paul in the UK.
Yes...I did get it in the water...and raced it for a season....then a fellow boater wanted to buy it...so....off it went... Welcome from the UK...
Love the camo paint job! You would benefit from not bridging your two scope mounts like this. Having one scope ring on the upper receiver and one on the handguard can greatly affect your zero. I’m sure that it sighted in fine but because the handguard is just held on with screws and is likely not concentric with one another you can see shift in zero over time. It can also put your scope into a bind. Sometimes it is not possible to use split rings and keep both mounts on the upper receiver. In that instance it is preferred to use a cantilever mount. 1.5” is the standard height. @okiedoak201
Thanks for the kudos....and yea..the scope mount has been changed to a proper style....I was not aware of the side effects of the way I had it mounted...live and learn right....👍👍
