the CAFE RACER visits OFFHAM STEAM RALLY, great event poor turnout
Hi Guys,
I'm bringing you the Café Racer Series, these series are dedicated to Biker Friendly Cafés around London, UK and beyond!!!
I will be visiting the most popular and famous Cafés, to give you a good idea of what to expect, its atmosphere and very brief history.
Hopefully inspire you to visit them on your next bike ride!
On this episode I am visiting Offham Steam Rally, an event that has been going for about 100 years and usually a great turnout of old motorcycles and cars, as well as steam engine vehicles.
Unfortunately, this years turnout wasn't great, but we still managed to find a true classic!
Hope you all enjoy it!
Safe riding!!!

Hahahahaha that’s me on the orange moped 😅
How do you move or where do you buy the little honda emblem near the key in the new carbon fiber tank cover ???
I took it off the original plastic ignition cover, then used sugru - glue - to stick it on the carbon fibre one. Hope this helps 🤙🏾
Where’s this place in london
London Colville, just off Portobello Road.
Where did you source the classy numbering decals?
Those were air sprayed! Thanks for the support 🙏🏾
Good job, you just convinced me that I can do this as well! Off to the spray paint store I go!! 🙂
Good luck! I’m sure it will look awesome!! 💪🏾
I was wondering how to do this !!
Is that easy, especially for a simple open face helmet. Worth a try. Good luck 🤞🏾
Im surprised you havent done wheel rim stickers? White/red...?
Haven’t given much thought to it to be honest, but not opposed to it. There are a few more things I want more hehe. Some new stuff coming real soon 🤙🏾
I agree that the belly pans online dont suit the style of the CB. The one youve got looks great . I do think a rear hugger would make it look cool too, though. If not exactly cafe retro.
You could probably put some blanking plates over the two headstock risers, instead of cutting them. Perhaps numbered, 7 & 9. Another suggestion is if you would look into SW Motech wind/hand guards? Just a thought. Ive ordered them for my CB500 Hornet. 😊
That’s a good idea, although I would prefer not the have those high point on the triple clamp. Wind guards are good, but not sure if it will fit the cafe racer style I’m going for, maybe for a scrambler look.
Erum is the oracle and not just about Meriden Triumph! Looks like you had fun lads!
I wear an open faceist of the time. Tried a full DS helmet fir a while and liked how quiet it was, the shade from the big peak and a dark shield. Way too hot and impossible in yhe rain. I use a peak on my open helmets for a little shade and on the highway a flip up face shield. A few strips of tape across the top provides some shade. In the rain and snow I can put my glove inside to clear the inside.
Good explanation, i love it. Sorry for asking, it’s very easy to install your glasses inside the helmet? I have a problem with it.
Ok, so you can try opening the helmet as wide as possible to put it on with glasses. But I find it easier to put the helmet first, the sunglasses. But it’s pretty comfortable wearing sunglasses with this helmet.
Nice trip, I hope I am not on Holiday next time when you visit Amsterdam :) And sorry to keep you awake for a bit longer, but parking in the garage is a lot safer! Smart choice imho :)
Jeroen! Not at all, appreciate the advice, better safe than sorry, especially when abroad. Loved Amsterdam, will have to take the family next time! 🙏🏾
Now that was trip!
Thanks Pipo 🙏🏾
I am the PLUS version Has heated grips I'm very troubled. I don't know how to transplant it.
I don’t think you can. I cut off the left hand side, will be buying the heated grips from eBay as they are cheaper. Hopefully by winter time I will have it refitted 🤞🏾
Good explanation, congratulations... It's very nice, I also just bought one in black and red, for my Royal Enfield Meteor, with a visor, in the pure Steve McQueen style, which I love!!! Greetings and V'sss from Catalonia
Thanks for the support 🙏🏾
@@v79moto you're welcome
I guess we both have really good taste hehe! 👊🏾
CBR comes with clip-ons. CB doesn't. It's a naked bike with a more upright riding position. ????
Correct. I was looking for a more traditionally styled cafe racer, so did it myself and looks great. Plus hasn’t impacted in comfort that much to be honest hehe
I am looking to change mirrors, becuase I am a big guy and my elbows covers these originals, basically I cannot see a damn thing. Does these Rizoma expand a liitle bit, are they wider then orignal ones ?
To be honest I don’t think they do, although you can buy an extension adaptor from Rizoma to achieve the desired result. I changed mainly for aesthetics purposes hahahah. Have you seen my new ones? Bar ends ones, they do extend further.
@@v79moto No I have not, not sure which video, if you can paste it would be great :) thanks
This brings back memories of my CbthouR... you still loving the clip ons? 😎👍
Very much so, done a trip to Amsterdam, about 7hrs ride and wasn’t too bad, I think the seat and rucksack were things that actually got to me. But truly enjoyed have the looks and power of the CB1000R 🤙🏾💪🏾👊🏾
@@v79moto ahh glad to hear it, easy on those brownies 😂😁
Hi, nice and informative video. I like the mirrors as well. What mirrors are they? Which manufacturer’s? Thanks in advance, Csaba.
Hey Csaba! Thanks for the support. The mirrors are Rizoma Genesi Mirrors. I have actually swapped mirrors for bar end mirrors when I fitted clip ons on my bike this year. Let me know if you’re interested as I am selling them.
Thanks Victor, will give it a visit 👍
Love that watch mate 👌
Thanks buddy! Yes, lovely watch and so different from everything else out there.
good review and good info, i gave a like

beautiful bike brother....
Thank you so much 🙏🏾 have you seen the clip ons and belly pan I fitted since this video? Hopefully is an improvement 💪🏾 thanks for the support

Hiw did the clipons workout? They clear the fuel tank and have full range of motion? If you had to do it again would you use the same clip ons or something different?
These clipons work perfectly, doesn’t impact full range of motion or touch the tank, you can adjust it as you like, is very versatile. And yes, if I did it again, I would go with the same ones for sure, quality is just unbelievable and allow a lot of customisation. Thanks for the support
Cognito moto makes the upper triple you're looking for.
Thanks 🙏🏾 , I will have a look. I’ve been searching for them for a good while 😅
What is the price and how I buy this? I am from India
Costs about £34 here in the UK. I got it from Urban Rider, but you can probably find in other online stores. I would look at Biltwell website and their distributors in India. Hope this helps.
sorry i live down the road from this and the owls nest its all shit, there ain't a site better than 9 to 5pm lol oh sorry the old spot inn llandovery that's open I think till 9pm witch is a very very old cafe place its still the best spot
I will need to check it out for myself haha 😅 thanks for sharing
@@v79moto these biking spots are shit sorry nice to see but boring as hell, its the same routes all the time its like getting drunk in the same place everyday.... no offence but in summer dark at now at about 9pm also couple of hours on Sunday some not even open, there has got to be better places than short rubbish, west wales mid wales even all the way to north....
@@googlelimp9834 which other places do you suggest, would be great to visit them. Stay safe!
@@v79moto see rode past the other night at but 7,30 ish even though said closed e was about 40 there witchakes it look a lot batter but closing at 4m?? lol
you guys think that this will also work with my S-Y7R11-HAPT akrapovic?
Possibly, especially if your Akropovic has the same design, doubt they would change for each exhaust. I was lucky to watch someone else doing it first, so I felt comfortable to drill into a £700 exhaust 😅
Great video, I've just bought one to clean my 81 250N Super Dream. Many thanks!
Thanks for the support 🙏🏾
these are awesome
Indeed. Very happy with the purchase.
Cool👌
Thank you Dudu 🙏🏾
What clip ons do you have for your CB1000?
ABM MultiClip, check out my video installing them th-cam.com/video/6t_nbhRkVyI/w-d-xo.html
akrapovic makes a rubber plug part number P-GUV004
Thanks for the tip!! 🙏🏾 Hopefully I haven’t made the hole too big, or do they have different sizes??
@@v79moto you should be fine it's a good size plug
@@v79moto it can fit up to a 13mm diameter hole

good vid!
Thank you 🙏🏾
Interesting you said large would be ok for you with a t shirt . Large is for 40 and going by their sizing chart you would be an XXL? I’m a 41-42 chest and was considering XL, might have to go to at most a large
I can actually fit a light jumper underneath it, but becomes a bit tight, you can far away with it if you must, but I find it uncomfortable. I typically only wear a T-shirt underneath and maybe a waistcoat if a bit chilly. Hope this helps.
That is a gorgeous bike ❤
100%
Interesting piece of kit, Thanks for showing. Cheers
You’re most welcome. Thanks for the support 🙏🏾
Haha, you now know how to pronounce my name correctly! :) In the meantime QuadLock has released a 12v version of the wireless head, so no need to fiddle around with the USB converters but you can connect it directly to the ThunderBox or any other switched power source. I did not upgrade, no need because the USB version and the TB-USB1 works just fine for me, but if I would need to buy it for another bike I would go for the 12v version. Btw, the TB-U01 is 16A, and the TB-U02 is 32A. (or actually 2 x 16A)
Hey Jeroen! Thanks for the spec correction and continuous support 🙏🏾
It looks futuristic, vintage, café racer, all at once, great job, brother‼️‼️‼️
Thank you so much 🙏🏾
Hi, I’m finding the quadlock wireless charger messes with the GPS on my iPhone 11. Do you have an issue ? If not , what version phone do you use ?
Hey, I used to have an iPhone 11 Pro and never had GPS problems. Now I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro and the GPS still working fine. Hope this helps. Thanks for the support 🙏🏾
Hi, I’m finding the quadlock wireless charger messes with the GPS on my iPhone 11. Do you have an issue ?
Thankfully no, I currently have the iPhone 13 Pro and the GPS works fine. Could it be the a phone issue? I would get Apple to have a look. Thanks for the support 🙏🏾
My dream bike 😍
Mine too 👊🏾
Hello, May I ask you how is the starting of the bike now after few month of usage? Always starts first time, or still not really? Thank you!
It starts first time, but as I previously mention, I don’t think is the battery, I think is the tracker draining it. I’ve been using the bike more now as the weather has improved and starts first time ALWAYS! And I am not plugging in to a trickle charger. Hope this helps.
@@v79moto Thank you for your reply! That’s fantastic! I don’t use any accessories on mine, went through 2 batteries before, a lithium Bosh and an original Yuasa, and now gonna get the Noco lithium! Thank you very much again for fast reply! Mine is a 2019
I’m considering buying one of these, however, reluctant based on some others comments about it not playing nice with sunglasses. (The front of the helmet pushing down on the glasses and bridge of your nose as well as the arms of the glasses being uncomfortable). Has that been an issue for you as well? Thanks
Hey D Mac! I don’t feel the helmet pushing down on the sunglasses, but I do get a lot of wind through the bottom of the sunglasses which makes it easier to ride without them rather than with them, crazy right? Only up to 30-40mph, faster is too uncomfortable. I’m wearing the helmet everyday for my commute, it’s decent and cheap, but if you want something better go for the Shoei equivalent.
@@v79moto OK thanks I’m going to try one on today as well as the shoei. Thanks again for your feedback. Really enjoyed your video, keep up the great work!
