Hunting Hall
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 16 มี.ค. 2011
Hunting Hall is a small family farm standing on the banks of the South Low burn in gentle Northumbrian countryside. Looking after our environment is at the heart of all we do; we have two 'green' holiday cottages, Newt Cottage and The Fuffins, a farm trail to encourage people to explore the peaceful surrounding farmland, and many wildlife conservation projects on the farm. We have arable fields, a small herd of rare breed pigs, a flock of sheep and an odd collection of hens and geese.
Hunting Hall Countryside Stewardship 2024
At the beginning of 2024 we began a new government Countryside Stewardship scheme at Hunting Hall. This gave us the opportunity to continue the wildlife conservation work that has been so important to us and start some new projects; creating habitats and re-wilding parts of the farm. It's been a lot of work, but very rewarding. This is a photographic summary of our year.

Hunting Hall Spring Wildlife 2024
มุมมอง 768 หลายเดือนก่อน
A video made with a Browning Trail Camera in the early spring of 2024. This was an exceptionally wet period and unfortunately the camera suffered in the rain. The date and time were not set correctly - it's even showing the wrong year! :S Despite all of the above - we're delighted with such a lovely record of wildlife on the farm.
Freddie
มุมมอง 504 ปีที่แล้ว
This is Freddie, our little rescue donkey, practising roadwork in his small four-wheeled driving carriage. When Freddie arrived at Hunting Hall from the donkey sanctuary two years ago he was only halter trained and was very excitable and frightened. We are so proud of the way he's grown to trust us and all that he's achieved! We've still a lot to learn together - but he's such a star :)
Andy and Alison's Wedding Anniversary Message

The countryside is looking beautiful at the moment. This video of Hunting Hall was taken on my phone in the last few days.
Hunting Hall Wildlife

We gave Tom a trail camera for Christmas. This battery operated video camera has a motion sensor and night vision, so it’s perfect for wildlife watching. After trial and error and several entertaining mistakes we’ve managed to put together this video. Apart from the first two images, all was filmed on the same farm track over 5 days in March.
Sheep in the shed on a wet day
มุมมอง 1278 ปีที่แล้ว
The sheep looked so miserable in the wet field this January that Tom brought them inside. On this rainy day they're much happier in the warm, dry shed enjoying a bale of silage - our first crop from the new organic grass. The cockerels quite like it too :)
Orphan Piglets
มุมมอง 1K11 ปีที่แล้ว
One of our poor sows died unexpectedly yesterday after giving birth to 10 piglets. Tom has been bottle feeding them, but he's also been trying to encourage them to drink from a dish. As you can see they seem to paddle in the milk as much as drink it - it's a terribly messy affair. This video was made by Tom on his phone when the pigs were just a day old. So far, all the piglets are doing well.

The lonnen bridge
มุมมอง 12412 ปีที่แล้ว
The old bridge over the lonnen was swept away by the floods earlier this month and Tommy has composed this piece of music in memory of such a special piece of local history. This beautiful old listed structure is on the track that was once the main route from the Roman road to Holy Island; countless pilgrims must have crossed the stream at this point. No one owns this old structure, no one can ...
An Anniversary Whitebeam

To Celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and 60 Years of the Burn Family at Hunting Hall, we planted a whitebeam. Thank you for putting the video together Tommy! Happy Christmas everyone!
How lovely to see this! What a lot you have achieved over the year. There must be a profound saying about " From out of the mud shall come forth an abundance of wildlife" And thank you so much for crediting Ian with wildlife photography, that is so kind 😄📷🦌🪿🦆🐦🐾
This is wonderful! So lovely to see the fox and cub(?) and the deer watching them
Brilliant, he is going really well.
Oh!! That was a joy to watch! I hope Alison and Andy enjoy your wonderful video and have a great anniversary too. Love from Carole and Clive. It was so lovely to see the goats which we wonder...are they related to our girls Willow, Blossom, and Katie? Miss them enormously. Lots of love to you all at Hunting Hall.
Hello Carol and Clive, I’m so sorry I missed you message when you posted it! We had such a lot of fun making that video - I’m glad you liked it! Barley and Ella, the goats, are from a school farm in Merseyside that had to close. They are very friendly and enjoy attention but object to being led anywhere - perhaps they remember being pulled by school children :S They are in happy retirement now, living in a small paddock with a handful of sheep.
@@HuntingHall oh so not related to the three we got from you and Tom then. I’m glad you were able to give them a beautiful peaceful retirement.x
Fantastic - What an excellent musician.
Long live! We had to cancel our orchard wassail and morris dancing this year due to extreme waterlogged ground whcih would have been a serious slip hazard.
Thanks. TH-cam needs more videos like this to balance the death metal etc. Please post some more and get someone to video your playing.
We are :)
Are you English?
Brilliant!! "oh wait, I need to switch it on first!" Well done! Great video!
We’ve just planted lots of fruit trees as part of a community orchard and Steven Hayes’ videos have given us lots of useful guidance. The making of this video was hilarious- it really had to be seen to be believed! Thanks for a huge laugh :) Alice, Karen and Roberta
