Great podcast! One question Dr I think you have a famous cou"sing" right?
Could you please explain what I am looking for here? Do you have any before and after video of the horse after treatment? I am quite sure my 6yo gelding has this problem.
Hi Karla. This video is not of a specific case, but serves to share information on the kids of internal scars that horses can have. Further details and how to treat them, are shared in the webinar presented by Raquel Butler. If you are concerned that your horse is suffering from gelding scarring, please reach out to a rehabilitation practitioner in your area for an evaluation
@@anelloyd3218 I live in Germany. Do you know where I can find a therapist? I don’t know what to look for. No vet has heard of this treatment here.
It’s impossible to find a provider that offers MSK US!!!! I’m in NY metro area and in need of this procedure for my dog!
How is the after treatment pain managed?
This is a great question, thank you for sharing that. Depending on the patient, a normal post-op pain management protocol would be followed.
How will a vet prevent the next injury to the horse when the training is not considered? Should horses be expected to stand up to any training and riding once an injury is healed? I don't think so. Are you willing to bring trainers to the table? We (trainers) are on the front line of defense (or not) against lameness.
Paige thank you so much for this comment - you are absolutely correct. At the end of the day, when it comes to preventing and recovering from lameness training - ie correct movement, conditioning and exercise - really is a fundamental and essential component. For that reason, trainers have a really important role to play within the multi-disciplinary team 💚 Thank you so much for highlighting that
Thanks for birthing a LEGEND MRS AMSTUTZ
Its DR. Amstutz!!
Is it also possible to use videos in these digital products? Or is it only images and text?
many many thanks for this video ! I learned a lot, ozone for animal seems so useful and so underdevelopped as treatement. I'm in Europe and i am seaclooking for treatment for my cat she has pancreatic cancer 😢. So far i can't find a vet knowing anything about ozone or having équipement and training, and if i have to buy it myself i would have no idea how to use it i would need trainin . I'm going to try and contact jonathan Lowe if he could have any vet or company he could recommand in Europe. Thanks again for this itv.
Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear about your cat. We wish you all the best and I am sure Jonathan will be able to help you.

Incredible information, thank you so much
My horse was just as the pictured grey described! Stands camped under both in front and behind often. Has mild OA in lower tarsals and uptake (on bone scan) at the PSL. He lands on outside of all four hooves, worse in front. Farrier says to trim any different would create problems elsewhere (after me googling and suggesting a shorter toe for the PSLD!). My horse can be extremely adverse to grooming and I’m sure it’s due to discomfort. But he’s not always🤷♀️. Any ideas on how to further help him?
He’s 7

Perfect timing! I know I am slower than the average businessperson and should probably have looking at these things before mid-February but it is never too soon to be reminded that we cannot survive on loving the fur-patients alone 😎😎
Thank you for your feedback. We are happy you were able to learn from this podcast.
I had a Northern Dancer grandson as a teenager for Pony Club in the 80's, he always had a stumbling/falling issue especially on uneven/bad ground, carried his head twisted, crashed through jumps and stood very base wide on the front. He was a good looking horse otherwise and usually won confirmation classes oddly enough. One thing that always stood out to me was the enormous girth he needed for my English saddle! I lived in a fairly large horsey city and it took me forever to find a girth that fit...for the longest time I used the biggest girth available with 2 girth extensions. He wasn't fat, wormed regularly, just extremely wide through the front. I do now wonder if he had rib/sternum issues but don't recall anything unusual other than overall size. He was put down at about 9 year's old after he didn't recover from a lumbar injury from yet another fall while show jumping at a 3-day event.
wow
I love all this information. It would be awesome If you guys would use charts or show the anatomy you are speaking of. Would be super helpful ! Not sure where “primary lymph nodes” are.
This was amazing! You’re absolutely brilliant Michelle
♥️
Also are there treatments recommended for AMI that has become chronic (2+ years) ?
Can it happen only one side of the body ?
Curious what both of you ladies think about treeless saddles?
Thank you for this very interesting interview, and special thanks to DrWimberley, who shares his thoughts and knowledge with much generosity. I’m a French vet who discovered prolotherapy very recently (thanks to the last veterinary ozone therapy online summit), and the informations that I find here will certainly help me work better.
great non drug idea
Thank you for the feedback!
Can you add a link for the book please?
always wondered why my dog had red and blue arrows going around his stomach and back. thanks for this !!

Hi everyone! So if you would like to continue learning about canine exercises, there are LOADS of resources in the Onlinepethealth membership - I am sharing a few here, that came up in the conversation with Jana, or are relevant: Stretching or Strengthening for Improving Range of Motion? onlinepethealth.com/stretching-or-strengthening-for-improving-range-of-motion/ Amie Hesbach, Putting Neuroplasticity into practice part 1 and 2: (if you want to learn more about that neuromuscular connection and retraining, which is VERY relevant to all our patients, not just the neuro ones 🙂), membership.onlinepethealth.com/courses/sma-clinical-reasoning/lectures/putting-neuroplasticity-into-practice-part-1/ The Competitive Sled dog, Veronica Devall (She shares a WHACK of research articles in this webinar - there is SOOO much research that has been done on sled dogs!): membership.onlinepethealth.com/courses/sma-specific-patients/lectures/competitive-sled-dog/ Overcome Imposter Syndrome (if confidence is an issue): membership.onlinepethealth.com/courses/self-mastery/overcome-imposter-syndrome/ Rob Porter, Force Free exercise in the Canine( these webinars are great if you DON'T have a background in training, and you need a little help in this area - Robbie lays a really solid and easy to replicate foundation): membership.onlinepethealth.com/courses/sma-exercise/lectures/force-free-exercise-canine/ Rob Porter: Ground treadmill therapeutic exercise: membership.onlinepethealth.com/courses/sma-exercise/lectures/ground-treadmill-therapeutic-exercise/ Leslie Eide, 4 part Exercise Physiology series (one of my absolute favourite series.... exercise physiology with Leslie Eide!): membership.onlinepethealth.com/courses/sma-exercise/series-4-parts-understanding-exercise-physiology/part-1-physical-activity-versus-exercise/
I’m a physiotherapist and osteopath for dogs and horses and I am also a trainer for Medical Training Therapy for dogs. This method comes from Physiotherapy for humans and is used after operations and traumas. But it works also incredibly well for dogs. First step is Mobilisation combined with stretching, second step Stabilisation combined with Coordination, after that you start with strength endurance training and last with Hypertrophy Training. Each step takes about 1-2 month, depending on the animal. In each step you work on different areas. Long muscles in the Mobilisation, short muscles in the stabilization, Feedback training in the endurance phase and feed forward in the hypertrophy phase. So for a sound dog/human you need mobility and stability, feedback and feed forward movement. I am quite sure you can say the same about horses.
Thank you for that comment - yes you can absolutely say the same for horses
Ah. Not THAT kind of string theory. Right.
Nope! not THAt string theory 🤣 Although THAT string theory did end up as our dinner conversation topic!
I swear by Antinol!! Has been bloody brilliant for my two dogs. Highly highly recommend to anyone who has a pet facing mobility or joint issues!! Even read bit of the science behind it, and couldn't be more confident in it.
Amazing! Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. Would you mind if I forward this comment to them to use as a testimony?
Thanks for this. I'm a longtime fan of Chris Zink's work. Off to buy the webinar. :)
Amazing! You are welcome!
Wow. This makes so much sense! Absolute props to Celeste for being an original thinker
Thank you for sharing your feedback!

Thank you so much!!
I would be really interested to have that book list since I have never come across any anatomy texts that claim the infraspinatus has a medial component. None of the dissections I’ve taken part in support this idea of any part of the infraspinatus muscle lying medial to the scapula and acting as ‘cushion’ between the scapula and the brachial plexus.
Hello, you are more than welcome to reach out to her via her website. Here is the link www.balancethroughmovementmethod.com/. Have a great day!
@@christinetaylor323 thanks. That’s what it sounded like based on the description but I’d never heard of it referred to as part of the infraspinatus.
hi - wonderful interview, thank you both! Is it possible to get the list of the books that was referenced by CLL? She said that there were '30 main ones'! many thanks
Hello, you are more than welcome to reach out to her via her website. Here is the link www.balancethroughmovementmethod.com/. Have a great day!
Horses are very good at disguising subtle lameness, it's part of their survival instinct. In the wild, predators seek out vulnerable individuals to take down; a horse that appears sound is less likely to be selected. This is one reason why early lameness can be difficult to diagnose, but facial expression and attitude changes are an important clue that's often overlooked.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi, what is Amie Hespers ( not sure I’ve spelt that right) page called?. I love neurology and would love to follow her. Many thanks 🙏

What instructions do you provide to owners so that they do not exceed state or NRC public dose limits?
Thank you so much for this video, I’m applying to be a vet tech next year and I knew I didn’t want to just collect samples and analysis and diagnostic imaging stuff, I wanted to actually do something to help animals and I’m sure I want to be a Companion Animal Rehabilitation Vet Tech:)!
