Eugenicy (Magnetic Fields) Promotional Video (2000)
A promotional video for a new company, Eugenicy, that was originally set up by Andrew Morris and Shaun Southern following the success of their 1999 Magnetic Fields game Mobil 1 Rally Champtionship (formerly Rally Championship '99).
It features interviews with Andrew Morris, Shaun Southern and Mobil 1 Rally Champion Martin Rowe in the middle section as part of a 'making of' style video. The opening sequence is taken from the game intro and the final sequence is edited highlights from the game.
Mobil 1 Rally Championship was the final game produced by Magnetic Fields (formally Mr Chip Software), their other games including: Lotus 1, 2 & 3; Supercars 1 & 2; Kid Chaos; Kikstart 1 & 2, to name but a few.

Andrew, do you still like rally or perhaps just racing games?
i still playing this gem, most inmersive rally pc game imo, the stages leights, 20 or 30 minutes some tracks, demands to the player to still focus all time. perfect balance between simulator and gaming experience.
Mr Chip Software & Magnetic Fields made some of the best games i ever played. And still play to this day.
Music definitely had a cue from Monster Truck Madness :) th-cam.com/video/jJY5AFWw2ik/w-d-xo.html
It feels real because it is real. - No it's not. I love Mobil1 but it's not unfortunately real like actually rally driving.
This is amazing. I still have my original big box Mobil 1 Rally Champtionship!
Love this game <3 still gives more fun than Dirt Rally
Have a classic gaming PC specifically to play this. Love the soundtrack too, excellent stuff.
MF is the best racing games developer ever. So sad you don't exist :(
Rally Championship 2000 is better than bullshit Colin Mcrea or another rally games... We love you Magnetic Fields 😉
It's pretty cool to see a promotional video for a company that was going to be open, but sadly, it was canceled for some reason. Other than that, this video is interesting and educational. I have the original UK PC release of Mobil 1 Rally Championship since I couldn't find a decent copy of the North American PC release, and it's a great rally game!
Pro trick: you can watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies recently.
@Aries Jay definitely, I have been using flixzone} for since december myself :)
Anybody got some good suggestions for ral.cfg modifications?

Hey Andrew, Whatta hell happened ?! You made such a great game! ever! We would love to see your new product! COMEON!
Yeah Magnetic Fields rocks...and Shaun Southern was the best...
Just imagine, this game with modern graphics and car physics, omg, Dirt Rally will be eating Dirt.
Man I hate Dirt Rally how it constantly resets your car if you hit the slightest corridor...
i hate dirt rally because the stages are made of one long stage... we can't have nice things anymore...
one day... i will remake this game.
You started yet, mate?
THIS GAME is the most immersive, exciting rally game ever. The man is not shitting you when he says "it feels real".... play the game and you will see.... there is no rally game as immersive as this, even richard burns rally (which is very hard and realistic) but it doesnt immerse you in the same way Mobil 1 does.
KEMEMEMELOKOMO The soundtrack was composed by Darren Ithell.
I'm still playing this and richard burns rally aswell! wish one day someone will start a crowd funded project to revive the rally simulation genre again! im sick of the usual crap from simbin, isi, iracing ect
I cannot begin to tell you how much I adore your games. I spent 2 years playing Supercars 2 and pretty much nothing else (well, Alien Breed and The Chaos Engine). I still play these games even now. All the very best to you sir!!
What were the lyrics of the "Die 4 U" song?
Darren Ithell - AKA "Dith" - did the music. I asked him to do a suite of music based on a common theme, in a dance music style, but with an inspirational, emotional element. I think he did an excellent job!

@Andrew Morris Good Day! Are you still active on this account?
Thank you andrew, one of the best race games in the last 10 years.... Could you me say who did the soundtracks from the game? PS: my bro and me enjoyed to jump over the buggy walls and get into the forest out of the track :)
Sorry can't help, doesn't happen to me! Maybe you don't have the last patch?
Hmm don't think so, I remember there was some debug thing that had a "map editor" command but it did nothing.
Ha! HD version for mobile phones! Would be great!
I want to ask the same, get the source and make an HD version as a tribute... it would be fantastic
Yeah this was great at its time. Long stages, multiplayer, narrow tracks I wonder what you guys think about richard burns rally ? I think it was the next reallistic rally game, like next stage of realism in driving games that yet nobody managed to achieve. Maybe you will make a new realistic rally game ?:]
I will be in tears of joy if there is a modern remake of this game. This is hands down the most immersive rally game ever created. Rough long realistic stages... Oh my. Just needs modern graphics, modern physics, detailed damage model and random weather... everything else can stay the same.
We have looked into this. Kikstart I and II were released a couple of years ago on the iOS Commodore 64 emulator. Hopefully we can eventually release our Amiga games. Thanks for the interest.
sorry no and I have no idea what are you talking about
:D yea, do u have a good physics file, i desperately need a custom ral.cfg that has better physics (driving, car weight, grip, etc...)
Oh my god I just remembered - remember megatextures? Imagine the possibilities! iD Tech 5 has great vehicular physics and with a little bit of tweaking... Rally Championship 2012 Path tracing edition :3 (a part of me has a crush on ray tracing and voxels... oh my god voxel damage... I think I felt something in my pants)
oh my god you're so not the only one that read the readme D:
Is there ANY chance of getting the people back together and discussing the possible open source release, at least of the assets? I can think of unimaginable ways this immersion and level of quality could be recreated with the current processing power, or RAD game engines.
i agree but the physics werent realistic because of track polygons(the author of the game said itself on the readme) and the sounds were not realistic, they were a bit anoying. Still its the most prestiged racing game in my family. :D
I liked this montage video. Much energy. Thank you.
@R3d46 Thank you so much.
@ianwuk We're looking into this now! Super Cars is more likely but anything is possible...
@koeiok Thank you.
@andwilmor 18 Year old here, discovered your games on youtube, went out and spent silly money on old ataris and amigas. That started a couple of years ago. Please get out of my brain? :)
This game is nothing short of amazing, after 11 years I still find myself drawn to it. The length of the stages requiring you to be on the ball at all times, the awesome texture selection, that recreates greatly the feeling of the UK countryside. Thank you for creating this gem of a game, it saved my afternoons many times.
@Foxx1981 That's good to know. Thank you for your comment, it's really appreciated.
@Vyurachan Thank you for your kind comments. Shaun is still in the business, I gave up some time. Cheers.
Lotus 3 fan here, thank you for all your games and being a part of my youth in the 90s. I beat many nostalgic heartbeats for your creations. Good luck.
@nidzio93 Thank you so much for your comment.
Magnetic Fields for the win! I used to play Rally Championship 1997 for years. I love all the Rally Championship and Lotus series games. Now, after many years since i discovered all of these games i'm still using a little part of each one - music. I can't stop to listen all of track. Thank You MF, hope you will get back.
@necromastercz Thank you.
@janmansde3dede Special request to Andrew and Shaun: I'd love to see how they'll put their skills in making WRC video game PC. Yeah!
