Excellent Cover! Also, I reckon one of the reasons Den is such a great songwriter is because he listens to other writers' work and knows what goes into a good song. So many singer-songwriters don't seem to do that, with the result that all their songs come out sounding very similar.

The layout makes no sense at all to your eyes, but it's fairly ergonomic and your fingers rapidly get used to it. And seeing as you play it with your fingers that's all right then :)

a beautiful song....what happened to those kids after such a traumatic time at those terrible institutions?

Just found out that John Lewis passed away a week ago. He read out The Knifesmith poem at Baccapipes Folk Club a couple of years ago and that was the first time I'd heard it. Granted, it's a good poem, but he delivered it so well that it inspired me to write this music to turn it into a song. Rest In Peace John and thank you so very much.
