Manchester City Are Bringing Back the Long Ball
มุมมอง 2.3K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
In Manchester City's first premier league game back, Pep Guardiola showed his tactical genius by..using long balls? Manchester City were able to create a ton of chances against Burnley using the long ball to exploit Burnley's out of possession shape, and I think the long ball might be coming back to the premier league this season with teams like Man city, Arsenal, and Newcastle favoring a man t...

    Having Messi, Jordi Alba and Busquets yet still can't top the eastern Conference in fact they used to be dead last now they are at 14 which is second to dead last. Another interesting thing is that you can not be relegated for some reason. Now that the Suarez transfer is confirmed let's see if inter Miami is going to plummet even more or at least end mid table .

    Yeah, Messi is still an incredible player, but Atlanta's back four needs to communicate much better then they did here. A half decent MLS attack should have them on strings, an attack with Messi in it understandably shreds them.

    You forgot the most important reason for Messi's (misunderstood) "walking" in the last third of the pitch. He does so to keep attached to him normally four enemy players --the number of men that on average most defensive arrays need to quickly build a "cage" (that hopefully) would neutralize his movements. If he keeps walking the defense "glued" to him stays along freeing up space so that the actions of the rest of his teammates in the attack becomes more fluid.

    I'm not sure if people really understand how amazing the inter miami transfers are, Jordi Alba, top tier left back and current captain of the spanish national team, Sergio Busquets, previous winner of the world cup, ex-Barcelona captain and one of the most decorated players (trophy-wise) ever and Lionel Messi (obviously), one of if not the greatest footballer of all time, paired with the fact that all are former Barcelona teammates with a lot of chemistry

    Messi scored a hat-trick vs Real Madrid at 19 years old, 91 goals in 1 calendar year in Spain, and has every international trophy possible with Argentina - those free kicks, shots and passes are world class precision in any league.

    Of course mls is not bad lol you just can see the difference in mls grown players vs European grown players, Nashville is a clear example of how good an mls team can be and the majority of the league has only been around for the last 10 years

  • @lukaszepesi
    @lukaszepesi 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Both is true. Messi is the best but he wouldn't be scoring this much if he was still playing in a european league because he's getting older now.

  • @hux2000
    @hux2000 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Far too much time spent talking about how good Messi is. Far too little time talking about how bad the MLS is. And no time at all spent talking about how he's objectively not as good as he used to be and yet he's *still* a giant, great white shark in a tiny pond. The quality of players in the MLS is significantly lower than it is in La Liga or Ligue 1, where he played before. And that's an understatement. Pick the three best MLS teams prior to this year and put them in the Championship - the second tier of English football - and they'd get relegated.

    When Messi passes, most of the time he hits it heavy, but it has back spin on it. This allows the ball to go past the defenders quickly and then slow down for the intended target, no one does this better than Messi.
